THIRTEEN - Where ever I have lived I always go for/to my local PBS station. BUT having lived in NYC for 34 years YOU have been my gold standard! I just now...I don't know how I missed it, found Treasures of New York, and I Love it! So from my current location, NE,TN...All Hail THIRTEEN! 2019!
Just a master piece, oh how I wish I could see it in person, the art, the construction was amazing. Even today the strength and ability to work up so high and do such beautiful and precise work should be commended. Thank you for this wonderful documentary. Most of us especially those that do not live in New York had no idea.
What a beautiful, breathtaking masterpiece. I am proud of all the men and women that worked endless hours to restore this historic masterpiece. The state capitol is on the list of places I must visit.
I grew up spending tons of time on the south mall (Empire State Plaza). I absolutely love the unique beaux arts charm of the Capitol and the other older buildings in Albany, but I equally love the modern architecture of the Empire State Plaza, the way the white marble catches the light at different times of day, the clean lines that form a stunning backdrop to the best collection of modern American art in the country, all in public areas, for the public to enjoy for free; the enormous reflecting pools, and the Egg, an engineering marvel, with theatre interiors that boast incredible sight lines and acoustics.
You see it was the only way they could figure out gow to break into my residential area. The entire floors above the whole thing is one home and the kings court is always in their castle or palace. Dont mean they live there expecially in this modern age. Go get your own home!
Think about it Aaliyah Fannar Linden they wasn't trying to out the dire out. How long does that take...exactly. they was spreading the fire around controling it like a snake tamer as seen in that harry potter movie and deliberately burnt the place down
Gonna tear up the gardens and park and build a visitor center between the capitol and the guest house behind it. Its supposed to be condos. And then build a park within the visitor center and blah blah blah and yeah Aaliyah Fannar Linden well dig deep and make an underground entertainment maybe living etc under the park visitor center in case we ever have another homeless problem or whatever
I've had the pleasure of touring this building. You feel like you're standing in a castle the second you walk through the doors.

Beautiful restoration on the skylights. Two thumbs up to the workers!
This is cool to watch because I work in that building!

Excellent documentary.
These builders are on the ball -- and coordinated! I'm impressed.
What an amazing restoration to a truly remarkable building - I LOVE THE TREASURES OF NEW YORK SERIES!!
We can never let this happen again
The loss is inconceivable. Makes me cry.
Wonder how many more would visit if it was in NYC.
I'm born and raised in albany, but i don't think I've ever set foot inside the capitol building! i want to go see the inside now.
Truly America's beautiful treasure!
Very well done!
Only a Rockefeller could want the ugly campus next to such a remarkable building.

I thought this would be about the architecture, not boring drama surrounding a fire.
