The install is pretty straight forward, and the toughest part is working on jack stands if you don't have access to a lift. However, as with all our products we do recommend a professional installers if you are not 100% on the install.
100% do this yourself. Absolutely zero reason to take this to a "professional" unless you just don't have the time. Mechanics will have you believing that your blinker fluid is low too. If its a bolt-on part, you CAN do it. I'm a total novice and figured this out.
Hi Kotskazi! Are you considering our downpipe? Here is the product page: www.mishimoto.com/subaru-wrx-downpipe-15.html Just want to confirm before we advise on a tune! :)
The bottom of your car looks like it's 5 years old.. but this video came out when the WRX must have only been a few weeks old.. what gives? Harsh winter salts?
5 years to late here but I have a 2018 STI, I got a COBB Downpipe and kept the stock exhaust for a little while saving for an upgrade. While changing the oil I noticed how the COBB downpipe looked prestien next to my fucked up exhaust. I think subaru cuts corners when it comes to corrosion resistance. I pulled out my stock downpipe and it to is fucked up.
can any one help me please i installed the jpipe on my 16 wrx and its touching on the power steering metal bar i tried to adjusted still touching on first and second gear

Mishimoto Automotive thanks. So that grimmspeed thing you are holding, is that the one for an ETS catback exhaust to stock cat converter? I have a 2015 wrx and a full ETS turboback exhaust. I was ticketed and only want to use the catback part. Unfortunately my wrx has very very skinny stock exhaust pieces compared to the Beefy ETS pipes. What do I need in order to keep my stock everything all the way to the catalytic converter and from there run the ETS catback?
Hey Mr.NiceGuy . Not entirely sure what you mean by the " grimmspeed thing " . The part John was referencing was our exhaust adapter www.mishimoto.com/subaru-exhaust-adapter-stock-downpipe.html . Unfortunately at the current time we do not have any parts that are a direct fit adapter for another companies exhaust system. Fitting the exhaust system as you have mentioned would likely require some custom work from an exhaust shop.
Mishimoto Automotive ah yes. That! Grimmspeed makes a similar one to that so this is for the modified catback to stock catalytic converter. Got it. Thanks!
I don't even have a car and I find it so fascinating to watch these. I can't wait to get my hands on a wrx :)
thank god........u guys are there now to help us with jdm cars...before it was just aamerican muscle who came up with such videos...keep it up guys
Should I try this myself or take to an exhaust shop? I'm a beginner.

Is resetting the ecu after installing the catback a good idea
Wouldn't hurt! It will help the computer recalculate the extra airflow and provide more consistent pulls.
@@mishimoto great thank you

Do I need a tune for a catback exhaust?
A tune would not be required for the catback exhaust

Does catback save more gas?
Hey Mr.NiceGuy . At the current time we have not done any testing regarding gas mileage. This Exhaust was designed with performance in mind !
