So I get why people are bummed about the ending. But I think it explained the beginning of the game, which I thought seemed weird. Like, why would she kick her brother? I get that she would be pissed, but come on!
I'm american and I love foreign games such as these!! The elements of surprise are different than American games, the plots are more unpredictable as well.

I've searched so desperately to find the folklore used in this game because the stories interested me very much. I can't find any of it. are some of them fabricated ?
The trolls and witches are a part their/scandinavian folklore for sure, as well as the norse gods stuff, though Im not sure about the other creatures. I did a google search on "swedish monster folklore", and I got some great hits on that you could check out. I also think that some of the monster/creatures were a part of the girls imagination (inner demons, sort of speak), as she is an addict and her brother's intention is to take her away to deal with her problem. In any case, good search words for you would be "scandinavian/swedish/danish/norwegian, folklore, norse mythology" etc...
I think the main monster was the addiction. How he says we can keep playing over and over, that's addiction. Game was meh. Not terrible, nothing special. There was all this reading, and nothing to really make sense of it all. Seemed like it didn't even need to be there. Weird.
And this is why you should never ever wander alone in our scandinavian forests LOL! Damn, the swedes made a hell of a great horror game! Awesome voice acting, atmosphere and story! If you really want to get freaked the fuck out, get high and take a walk deep into our forests... ALONE! Im pretty sure that you'll want to get back home after your first night, mvuahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love other cultures and religions. My husband believes I'm a valkyrie (sp) from his surgeries.

The guy playing violin is called "Näcken" searth for that name and tou'll find some lore

it make it more scary when u use something that some people believe in (as something might exist) so it add that special flavor to horror experience
