    I am a nano user for more than two years and have driven it to hill stations and long distances. Nano is a very capable car

    The most underrated Indian car! I own Toyota Altis as well as a Nano. For 1/7th of its price, the nano does almost 90% of what the Altis does. What the reviewer says is absolute bullshit. I have driven Nano on long distances too. Except for safety (which I doubt other Indians cars have too) I haven't had any issues with it. This is something phenomenal and we Indians should be celebrating this car. Had this car been in Europe the equation would have been in a whole new level. IMHO if given a right press and reception this could very well join the leagues of Mini cooper, Fiat 500, VW Beetle counterparts in future.

      Karthik P Exactly, the most under-rated car. I use 1st generation nano and I have never felt that it lacked something except for the power steering. In fact, all my friends were amazed and highly impressed with the car. I have driven the first generation at 100km/h, I don't think I need more than that from this car. Why do we need extra power from such low cost car?

      Tata Nano has been designed to replace motorcycles, they are not intended to provide safety level of a car.

    I am Arunachal Pradesh.. Our state has one of the most challenging roads... It's hilly, 80% roads are of literally off-road standards... And yet the nano never gave me any problems in all the 4 years of driving it.... Nano is a very under rated car... And interestingly, I never could understand why people keep complaining about its engine sound being like an auto rickshaw....I really love its whirring exhaust note (reminds me of a beatle)... !!!!

    He is absolutely wrong in saying Nano is not good for hills. i took it to yeracaud and it was performing better than other hatchbacks while climbing up the hills...

      I can vouch for the hill climb it did a 40 degree climb

    I have '12 Nano which has clocked around 27000 kms and i have travelled so much with it,1800 kms(noida-mount abu-udaipur-jaipur-noida) in 3 days of which almost 850kms non stop driving for 24 hrs, 700 kms(noida-mussorie-noida), 1300kms(noida-amritsar-dharamsala-noida), 1600 kms(bangalore-karwar-goa-bangalore) and many more trips like yercaud, chikmagalur, mysore, hogenekkal etc.. All the while we had 4 occupants with luggage and the nano has been such a performer, i have done off-roading as well and steep climbs with max occupants and the nano has never given up(thanks to the high ground clearance)..Overall i would say that its a great buy, for people looking out for an all round, fuel efficient car which wouldn't burn a hole in their pockets, a car which runs at the maintenance and cost of owning a high end motorbike - this is the car for you and with 4 yrs warranty, there is nothing to worry about..All these changes only make me want to exchange my current Nano and go for the new AMT one with triptonic. The AMT would help in the city and my Highway cravings can be fulfilled either by the triptonic mode or AMT w/ sport. I dont understand why zigwheels recommends otherwise, i believe first such trips and terrains should be attempted and then such comments should be made, this is just spreading negative opinions which are based on squat.

    When driving to a hill station (Yercaud, TN) , my '10 Nano (with 4 healthy adult occupants + light luggage) drove up the hill without me having to shift to 1st gear even once.
    This was when I was, comparatively, an amateur at driving.
    I guess the RWD setup helped. Wonder why that wasn't mentioned.
    Also, considering our pothole-filled city roads, why no word on the rather brilliant independent suspension...?

    • @zigwheels
      @zigwheels  9 лет назад +1

      Bhavin Tolia Sure, the Nano has a nicely setup suspension for its size and weight, especially at city speeds. It wasnt brought up in the review because it continues mostly unchanged. Compared to the first version, the suspension is more absorbent and now there's a front anti-roll bar too, for those interested in knowing.

      +ZigWheels Why not mention that Nano can and have done Highway runs and there are many evidences on youtube it self plus i think when a user says he did quite well in a hill climb i think the review is talking based on their sponsor may be? Or may be every reviewer wants to stick to similar agenda where every one almost says every thing identical. From bad features to what they think. I have yet to find a review where some one said some thing different. That's why i choose to go by user review rather than journalist one day experience review.

    Hi
    Last 2 years, using the car lx special edition, it's really small wonder. Best to drive in mumbai as well as on highway. Mumbai to nasik return yields mileage of 25 km/p.ltr, with Quality AC and at the speed 75 to 80.
    Now coming with Amt version.......the best deal for city drive

    will be available spare parts, engine and others accessories after stop tata nano production? What tata company think about nano car users who already buy this car?

  • @narendrakolpe6913

    Best local / city / second Car package. Best alternative to 2 wheeler. Safety, Security, Auto Transmission, AC, Music System with USB / Aux in / Bluetooth Connectivity, Central & Remote Locking, Tiny Footprint, Power Steering, Front Power Windows, Small Turning radius - All this, coupled with the best mileage, makes Tata Nano surely a much better worthwhile package at the prize point it's offered at. Unfortunately, people's perception doomed this Wonderful Project. Hope Tata would revive Nano with Electric / Hybrid Car option & also add ABS & Airbag/s, slightly bigger engine, atleast as an option.

    Really Good review as well as clear thoughts on Nano's capabilities. Being a Nano owner for over 3 years, I agree with views :) Though it can be used for highway runs as well.

    Bro I have travelled with same model of Nano..at 4 laned highway covering distance of 85 Kms in 55 mins at an average of 90-100 kmph . Drive comfort was there as well. So if road conditions are good Nano is fun to drive also.

      +Rohith Radhakrishnan Hi, I am a NANO XT user and I should say a proud owner rather.. It's best in its class and a compact hatch. I am amazed by its AC capability and the power it delivers.. It's perfect for a nuclear family and i am over exited with the features, interior and exterior of the car.. Perfect car for Small families..

    • @suvrajitb1
      @suvrajitb1 8 лет назад +2

      It delivers 22 kmpl in city traffic without AC and around 18 to 19 kmpl with AC turned on.
      On highways, it has delivered a mileage of 22 kmpl with AC turned on and 25 kmpl with AC turned off both situations were observed when driving with 5 adult on-board including me on the driving seat and with 2 luggage bags on the hatch.
      It's beautiful and I am still a proud owner after an year..

    If Nano car would bring here in the Philippines that will be an absolute sale. Most Filipinos are practical especially when it comes to the car price. The cheaper it is, the better. Even the rich one would buy it. Here, we don't mind if you're rich or not as long as we justify all the things we want. No airbags? It doesn't matter anyway. We get used to it like riding Jeepney or tricycle.

    Tata, please concede defeat and get on with it. The Nano is a BIG FLOP and nothing you guys do can change that. Phase out the Nano get another brand new car with a new shell and a new name incorporating these new technologies.

    • @alianisz
      @alianisz 9 лет назад

      ABC Erase They dont know what new technology is. Cars these days are packing airbags on windshields to prevent human injuries caused during collision with pedestrians.
      Here, the so called Vice President of TATA talks about reinforcing the car (the Indian copy of Fiat 500) with more torsional rigidity. BULLSHIT.

      Aniruddh Joshi Yes I follow you and agree. What is not agreeable is the Tata Nano. Thats my opinion. Just imagine if there was no Fiat 500 to compare this car to. Even then, this car would be considered irritating to look at.
