Super smart guy, no people skills, deeply impressive how he could tell that this one cluster of cells is slightly different from that one cluster of cells. Greetings from UK Pathology (Infection Sciences branch). Did they teach you the importance of labelling your samples, making sure all sample tubes/swabs/etc are in date, accurate request form filling out, and correct sample types? The number of samples I have to discard or reject because they were unlabelled or most the transport medium is gone or they filled the urine too high despite the very obvious lines or they sent a heparin blood for a viral load and WTF people do you not get taught this stuff? So. Um. Yeah. That said, we do get to put paper snowflakes of various viruses on our molecular testing platforms. And genetics named their RT-PCR machines after muppets.
@@NethDugan thankfully pathology doesn’t have to deal too much with this as the histo techs do most of the prep, but I was taught how important it is NOT to overload the cassettes since then the slide will be super crowded/difficult to cut/read. I’m doing Anatomical path and haven’t seen cytology yet so so far mostly all tissue samples/slides and no urine 😅I’m okay with this tho 🤣
For emergency medicine, do the helmet and shades already count as items or are they just an extension of their being? Also, pedia is probably not going to a deserted island unless they're all pedia doctors.

That exercise was literally the first thing we ever did in medical school. It was a tutorial called the fishing trip and ended up teaching us about how the kidney worked and whether you could drink your own urine. Happy memories.
