- In this video I go through all of the top birthstones for every month of the year. I show diamond, Garnet, Sapphire, ruby, peridot, moonstone, bloodstone, pearl, amethyst, citrine, sardonyx, emerald, diamond and opal. All aspects of these gems, including their properties regarding personal life, are presented it.
I can't think of another site that I get more enjoyment out of than watching you and listening to you talk about stones and what you do with them. My mom and dad were into lapidary when I was young and for probably 30 years I helped them haul around 500 lb of rocks from where they moved to where they moved, so this is very special to me. I don't know how to use all this new fangled internet cuz I'm 70 and I just never had an interest in technology but I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed everything that you talk about and everything that you show 😁😎
rocks are literally beneath us everywhere and yet so few people understand just how beautiful they are.
I am so glad you talked about moonstone. I have a soft spot in my heart for the tiny colorful globe because of a little prayer that my dad taught me when I was little.
I used to be afraid of the dark, but Dad showed me the beauty of the night and that God made all of it. Then he taught me to find the moon whenever I’m out and say; “I see the moon and the moon sees me. God blessed the moon and God blessed me.”
Dad is gone now, but I still remember him every night, when the moon shines bright.
it is beautiful, but to be honest, nearly every rock has its own beauty. some are just more alluring than others.
@@ThatOpalGuy
Yes, that is exactly why moonstone is special to me, because it’s a beautiful rock.
It’s the small things that mean the most.
Feels awesome to be born in the Opal month. I still remember the ring my mother bought for me when I graduated HS. A beautiful Square opal ring
Colonel, Shelia is my mum. When we were kids she wouldn't lift a hand to help with the chores. She never gave us hugs ,but she loved all 50 of us kids . Happy New Year
Love your shows! I love having Garnet for my stone because it comes in so many colors.
@@PulitzerOpal I need to get some of the green one's they are nice and also my favorite.
My girlfriend always wants me to wait and watch your videos with her but I don't and she gets mad.
Not real mad but you have become one of our things and we greatly enjoy your videos.
My mother was born in October. In my teens, I learned that her birthstone was opal. This was my introduction to the most beautiful gem in the world and I have been a sucker for it ever since!
Congratulations to the winners. I loved the visual monalog of beautimus and gloryymus stone. Thanks for a the great spot of insanity into an otherwise drab world. Keep the color coming. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, your family, your fur babies and plastercized co-host. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
Those opal’s have got to be the most beautiful things I have ever seen 🥰.
What an amazingly job you have. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
For someone with little to no experience using resin, you did an amazing job, and your friend’s advice using tape was spot on. I work with resin a lot. Recently afflicted with opal fever, this video was the best of my two worlds. Thanks so much!
Moonstone is so subtle, it's gorgeous, especially with the blue glow. The amethyst arrowhead is beautiful too. Thank you for clarifying the scammer situation, Colonel. I was disappointed that someone would try to besmirch your good name in such a manner. Oh! Congratulations to the winners and a Happy New Year to all!
Hi Dawg, Those of us welped in October are very proud of you getting all of the birthstone rankings correct.
I love all gemstones but have a special affinity for opals. The Amethyst arrowhead is beautiful! My husband and I loves to watch your videos.
We went down under and bought back bottles of Opals. We love it and enjoy cutting it!
I stumbled upon your videos a while back and now I am hooked on opal. Who knew there were so many colors and patterns to enjoy? Thank you for the education.
Happy New Year! I’m always thrilled when I get that notification saying there’s a new Pulitzer Opal video just waiting to be watched. Yes - watched all the way through. 😉
I love all your videos. Always informative and entertaining! You featured some of my favorite stones in this video. Cant wait until the next 1.
Each time I watch this channel it's a treat. Happy new year!
Happy new year, all!
Donald, I have happily just discovered your channel. Hoping to learn a bit, or a bunch, about opals!
I have a personal story about the only opal I ever owned - back in the early 1970’s to 1980’s.
As a child of 9 years old, I was given a milky opal (forgive my ignorance of types opals), by someone that my parents knew, after my 20 year old sister had died.
It was a loose stone. Although the corner of the rectangular shaped, polished opal was broken, the stone was still beautifiul with it’s colorful fire dancing inside as I turned it this way, and that way. I adored it. My opal was carefully kept in my trinket box with my other little treasures.
I don’t know why this person decided to gift me that broken opal, other than my sister had died; not really a gift giving occasion. But they did.
Anyhow, I would estimate it to be approximately 12-16 carats. It was lost (or perhaps stolen), by the time that I was 18. I remember unpacking after a move, and realizing that my opal wasn’t where it should be. Gone. I was really saddened by this discovery.
Decades later, I still think back to that stone. To this day, I’ve never owned another opal.
Even though I could simply buy one, I would be honored to “win” an opal (or other treasure) from you.
Thank you for this opportunity.
Best regards, Marla
Happy New Year to you, your family and the ginger army 💜 this was very informative, and funny, as usual. I hope 2023 treats you well and I guess I was one of the 2 who made it to the end 😉🥳
So many beautiful stones in this video. I love your descriptions and explanations. The cats are always a pleasure to see 🥰
Indeed Pulitzer, I did enjoy the video. As much for the humor as for the stones! Thank you again PO.
Great video again, loved the in depth review of each stone, it was way more than I expected!
Opal has me hypnotized. It reminds me there is beauty in nature.
Great video again! As a person born in October you had me bristling for a second! It is great to see some of the well known stones in a form I don't commonly see them in. I'm planning on trying cutting some of those myself in the future. Happy new year to you too and on to a great new year full of opals!
As usual informative and entertaining, thank you. The moonstone is particularly striking! Wishing you all the best for 2023
Sheila winked at me! I’m the chosen one!!!
Oh! This is a different kind of video from you and I LOVE it! Thanks Colonel and Happy New Year!!
Beautiful arrowhead, I always learn something new in your videos but honestly I mainly watch because of Shelia.
Some of these stones are so beautiful that I wish I was able to have a collection of them all. But of course, opal has to be the #1 birthstone nothing else compares to the fire and brilliance you find in opals. Happy New year to you and your family and may the new year bring you countless blessings!!!
How did I miss this video!! Good thing I searched if there was some I missed! 🙌🙌 I did get a notification as you said in the beginning of your video. No worries I didn't fall for it! Thanks for all your knowledge and the great video! Your humour is always refreshing! 😁 Laughed out loud a few times! 😂
Thanks for all your hard work putting these videos together pops!
You are by far my favorite cutter!!!!
One of your best videos Don,thoroughly enjoyed and much appreciated...................you never dissapoint. Happy New Year
Thank you for sharing. I'm getting more and more obsessed with gemstones after watching videos like these. So much that I want to get into cutting and polishing gemstones as a hobby. My favourite is Opal, but they are all beautiful. Love your cats too. Looking forward to your next video💎
Your videos are always so delightful and insightful. Everything is stunning.
Excellent show. Again! Opal at number one is right on the money!!💎Thank you, Pulitzer, for the love!!
I myself, being into stones on a spiritual note, you sir have told no lies. Lmao. You keeping it real to the fullest, w/o the spiritual aspects, it's refreshing.
Hoppy New Year! This was the most exciting thing to see at midnight!
Visiting Idar-Oberstein in Germany where they found the Amethysts back then is definetely worth it. When I was a child my family went there on vacation. That was when it all started with me.
yes! opal is the best coloured stone! love your vids man! watching you while i work is always a highlight in my day
Happy New Year!!🎉
I’m what is called a “newbie” to the world of gemstones. Seeing an opal ring I wanted to buy for my lady is what caught me hook, line & sinker!! Now months later and many many RUclips holes you’ve helped to get me interested in cutting to find the real beauty of the stones. It’s an art form and you sir are a true artist!! Thank you for what you do and bringing me aboard the gem train but really the opal wagon lol. Have a great day, keep smiling!!
My days have sucked but I just noticed you put a video up 🔥🔥🔥🔥going to sleep happy tonight..happy new years world, and greetings from Arizona
Happy New Year Colonel! So good to see Paco again and the feline friends. Made it to the end of the video in my usual awe inspired way you bring me to each video. Love the amethyst arrow-head as am really getting into arrow heads these days since watching you carve the opal one in the last video - bought some obsidian ones online to feel how they are carved....would love an amethyst one too to wear though. Hope you, your wife, Sheila and the cat crew have a very happy 2023. Love and luck from Ireland. Tamsin🇮🇪😻xx
Happy New Year! I don't know how your page came up on my feed but I stayed until the end. You have a new follower! Your knowledge on different stones is wonderful and I learned a few things! Some of the opals you showcases were stunning but that half amethyst / half citrine piece you created through heat treatment was dazzling as well.
Happy New year to you too Don, thanks for all your videos/entertainment in 2022, I haven’t forgotten about the Andamooka crystal, hopefully I can find something in my January trip. All the best for 2023. 🤪👍
Happy new year colonel! Great fun. I've always thought pearls seemed a little boring but those baroque pearls have me rethinking them.
Oh my! Happy New Year! I’ve never been into the “meanings” of birthstones but I thoughouly enjoyed this even though my birthstone, emerald, didn’t make the cut. Now I’ve got even more gems to collect. Some of your specimens are fabulous! Will DM a few cat videos to se what you thing. Happy New Year’s to you and yours. Trying to be positive and wish all well! Thanks for video. Def will share!
Just what I needed, all the best for the new year !! Thanks for the joy you brought me this year!
Both 🤣
This video just popped up on my recommended and now I’m hooked!
Happy New Year to you as well! Loved the video. Your wit has me chuckling quite often.
A very Happy and Healthy New Year to you and your family. Thank you for the knowledge and fun this past year. Be well.
Its great to see one more video from you before the end of the year. Thanks, Don. I always appreciate your humor, though I have to take issue with picking blue beryl over the green. My birthstone is emerald and it is second ONLY to opal as my favorite gem.
Have a happy new year. Give the cats some catnip for their celebration, please.
Edit: congratulations to all the winners! Enjoy your gems, they are indeed precious.
Happy New Year! Thank you for the entertainment from you all. Look forward to more in 2023. Beautiful stones, beautiful giveaways...
I had no idea that AMETHYST CAN BE FLINTNAPPED!!!!
that's so awesome, I'm on it! Thanks kernel p.d. opal!
Really enjoyed your video. Learning from you about opals and other gemstones is great. I took notes, so that i could explain it to my husband. I loved watching you making the arrowhead. It would make a great necklace. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and happy new year.
I'm so glad I found this channel, I'm laughing my ass of watching your videos. This is the third, I've subscribed. I can't wait to watch more!
I loved all these! Also thanks for always including your cats!
Love it perfect balance of humor education opals and cats . Keep it up always glad to see you post a new video
Thank you so much for clearing up the confusion about the scammer, he contacted me too. As for this video, you're right there are 3 jewelry stores in my Midwestern town and now that I am aware and looking for opals the only way to find them is online 😀
Did you report the scammer? I always report them whenever I see them, even if it’s not me they sent their BS to. It only takes a few seconds and the more reports RUclips get, the sooner YT will take them down!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Mr.D and your wife, Shelia and all your kitties. Thankyou for all the great videos this year. Cant wait to see what you have for 2023. Heres to good health and a safe New Year🍻🎭🎉✌️
Your videos always make me laugh! Love the kitty additions as always.
Another Great video Colonel. Happy New Year to you, Sheila, and the rest of your family
Laughing! & a very Happy New Year to You and Yours! What a cheerful video with beautiful stones & playful kitties! So much FUN! I hope there are big smiles there, because: WELL DONE,!
And a Happy New Year to you too! I always love your videos. And Sheila is a plus!
I love love love all gemstones. I’m happy peridot is on the list because it doesn’t get much love. I’ve become a fan of all gemstones in the last year. I recently got an aquamarine ring and I can’t keep my eyes off it. I love when stones have fluorescence. Happy New Year to you too!
Peridot is my favorite gemstone. It's my mother's birthstone. She loved it because green was her favorite color.
Great informational video. When you started out talking about June birthstones you caught my attention because that's my month. Always loved pearls but never appreciated moonstones before so thank you for that. Didn't know garnets came in so many colors, wow. Of course I watched to the very end! Otherwise I might miss something.
Love learning so
Thank you for sharing!
❤️ Pearl
Thank you! I love you. Your work on RUclips is my favorite go to when I want to be cheered up. The pearls are beautiful. I love to mix pearls, opal and turquoise with blackened steel and copper. Gold is overrated to make jewelry. Actually, I only make jewelry in my mind. And earrings. Your work is fabulous. The bald guy's work is ok.
That was awesome! Happy New Year! Thanks for the info!
Another banger, thank you and happy new year!!
This is my favorite comedy channel on RUclips.
what a new year to be - this was so much fun to watch that im passing it on to others- love to shila and the cats and well u
I’ve learned so much about opal on your videos and very entertaining as well!
Loved this video, and the beautiful Amethyst Point! 😍
Gorgeous gems!! Love those adorable cats! 🐈
Moonstone just happens to be my birthstone 😉. We love your videos and learn so much!! Happy New Year!
Bloodstone, my absolute favorite. That arrowhead out of it is just sic!
Took 4 ever to come to #1 we know you'd pick - Colonel, you gave insight to the many birthstones. Thanks
Good stuff brother. I learned quite a bit. Happy New Year and I hope to see you in Tucson 2023 😊
Recently found your videos. Can't stop watching. Thank you for educating and entertaining me. God bless you.
I wish YOU a happy new year and thanks for making my stone number 2!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and cheers to the new year. My mom got a great laugh out of your puns. I have got her watching you as well.
great video!! Happy New Year to you and your family! Thanks for sharing your wisdom
These videos are so oddly satisfying and entertaining. Keep it up Pulitzer Opal
Happy new year to you also, enjoyed this video again. Please continue making videos like this.
Love the list, I must admit I'm not only an opalholic but also interested in some other stones, and my interest building has a lot to do with my son asking for his/our moonths stone (amethyst, so featured here). Have a happy new year, and hope to see more of your excellent content in 2023!
I love moonstone! It's my wife's birthstone, but I also love it's subtle beauty and luster!
Thanks for playfully informative video. Most teachers could learn from your presentation. It's my favorite so far.
Your insight in shapes of things related to other things are very eye opening lol. Hv a great new years also 🍻
Hahahah, love the Rodney Dangerfield reference!!! Such a funny man, but his story was absolutely tragic, especially his upbringing. Ty for making me remember him 😂
The Opal stands out from the rest and deserves No1.. I'm sure Shela keeps winking at me... Thanks for a great year and all the best for 2023!
I'm so glad to see your video. I've been missing Sheila and the kitties. Oh yeah, The presentation was good too.
This was your best yet.
Love the editorial comments... and the stonework. And the education.
Amusingly enough, I had a scammer try to make contact, and I hope none of your viewers ever fall for it. If for no other reason, your eloquence in your videos was in sharp contrast to the broken English the spammers used.
Such fun facts about birthstones and gems! I'm a June baby 👶 myself but haven't been a baby for such a long time really!👋👩🦳👍Thank you for all the fun and for showing those cute cats❤!
Oh I’ve been waiting for this video ❤
Awesome video , garnet on its original matrix is on my wish list for specimen pieces so glad to see some love for garnet
Thanks you so much for all your entertainment over the year, and happy new year to you too! As a June babe, I love moonstone, always have.... But opals have always mesmerised me since a trip to coober pedy in 1989. I gave away all I fossicked ... Some regrets there, lol...
Those are beautiful specimens. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
Thanks for all you do man and happy new year
