Holiday Winterfest is so lovely! It's a tie for me this year for favorite between this and London Christmas Tea. What a great couple of scents. I'm learning a lot about candles from you and by having so many going as I work from home in my small NYC apartment (hi from Manhattan!): 3 in the kitchen, two in bedroom, two in living room. They all have different burn personalities and some are very finicky and require a lot of attention, while others are just clean and easy. To me there's still no rhyme or reason to that, so I just try to go with it. Loving the soy blend over paraffin though. I still have a few paraffin just because you get what you get with Yankee as far as availability for the size you want, but I've learned that I really prefer the 1-wicks in my place because I like to burn a few at a time, meanwhile my space is so small that the scents get overwhelming quickly. Anyway, thanks for these lovely reviews and wishing you and your family a wonderful and safe holiday!
Aw, I love hearing about your candle journey! Both Holiday Winterfest and London Christmas Tea have also been favorites for me too. Hope you had a wonderful holiday, Juliette!
At the end of the day if people want the 2 wicks that’s why the tumblers are for, just 2oz less not a big deal and if they fully transition to the soy blend the original jars then there’s no point of having 2 jars styles with 2 wicks. If they keep the paraffin wax then adding another wick will make more sense to help with the paraffin melting pool and throw. Got the Apres Sky collection in the original jars to try how they perform with the soy wax. I was surprised how they created a full melting pool top to the glass without the illuma lid in the first burns something that is almost impossible with the paraffin. I tried those lamp shades with the soy and had better results with the illuma lid to create a deeper melting pool. The weakest one was the Santa on skis. The other ones did pretty good in a master bedroom with vaulted ceilings and medium size rooms and that’s pretty good for a single wick. People tend to believe that a signature jar with 1 wick just because of the big size will perform like a 3 wick candle that will fill multiple areas with fragrance in 1 or 2 hrs and that’s impossible with 1 wick, it will take several hrs and now days with houses with open concepts, high ceilings, product safety regulations and toxins free fragrances and additives you need to take all that in consideration when purchasing your candle style.
Hi Connor! Great review. I picked up this scent in the wax melts. I love orange and tree, but the herbal note scared me. I assumed it would be like sage or something, but I don't really like any herbs in wax, including sage. So I'll warm the melts and see. Kind of wish they had left the herbal out because I would love a great citrus and tree scent from Yankee. I'm glad to hear that Yankee is moving away from the paraffin. I'm assuming the new wax will be a soy/paraffin blend? I had given up on their large jars because I can never smell them (not like back in the day when they were amazing - you know, when Kittredge owned Yankee!), but I may try a jar or two once they transition to the new formula. Still, like you said, that one wick situation for that large jar, I don't know. I agree, with that size jar, it needs two wicks.
I hope the herbal note did not offend you! Let me know if you enjoyed it. The new wax should be a soy/para blend, the same formula as what they currently use in the signature 2-wicks and the 3-wicks.
I do NOT like getting rid of a paraffin option when there is already a soy option. Soy wax adds an extra fragrance that is noticeable and can sometimes ruin the candle for me. What needs to be done and there's no reason not to, is add a 2nd wick to the paraffin original jars. I am a YC customer for decades and I do not like the new aesthetic the company is going down, but can tolerate it as long as they keep the old/classic style options. But getting rid of these options completely is losing me as a customer.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I understand your disappointment. I would like to see them add a 2nd wick, than that may eliminate the need for the soy.
Hi, Connor! I pulled up your review because I'm shopping the clearance sale online. Do you smell sage at all? I need to know, lol. I hate citrus and sage. But I love citrus and pine together. Thanks!
Two candles going? Nice. I'd definitely get this one. I'd get the whole collection lol. BBW Winter Candy Apple is a wonderful scent.

Thanks for watching!
I wish the wicks on the single wick jars would add a wick that mushrooms which would heat it up faster and better wax pool and throw
That would definitely help. Maybe then there would be no need for a 2nd wick?

I definitely think the more wicks the better, but everyone has different preferences. I’m glad the new soy has performed well for you!

Hi Connor,
Have you done a review on Kringle's Country Candle, Silver Bells?
I have not tried that one.

I do smell an herbal note, but I wouldn't say its necessarily sage. Definitely not Sage and Citrus. I think you would like this one!
