To be perfectly honest I don't really see that it's anyone's business where Sarah Ferguson has been.
She has the misfortune of being married to Andrew and having a couple of daughters with him.
But she's not really been a part of the Royal family for several years now, not really since she divorced Andrew.
She has of course been a mother to Eugenie and Beatrice but both are now fully grown women who have families of their own.
I didn't really expect that she would make an appearance and why on earth should she? Apart from perhaps the Funeral itself and maybe the wake to show respect to someone who was her mother-in-law for a while and to offer support to her daughters.
I have no real problem or issues with Sarah Ferguson whatsoever and I certainly wouldn't judge her.

I never stopped liking the Duchess, even after the divorce. She was a little too high strung for the Royal family, but the fact that she raised those two girls to the lovely, well mannered princesses they are today, can not be forgotten. Wrong. She actually had 3. Westminster cathedral, Windsor then a private service. Andrew did not need to go to the first one. That was for the Queen and her status not personal. The Windsor one maybe but that was still mostly for her Queen status and the private one definitely yes he should go to as that was for her personally. He did not need to be public facing especially at Westminster Hall for the vigil and the processions. That was for the Queen not a personal thing. It was for a monarch and due to her duties. No one said he shouldn't mourn or not attend the family personal events and funeral.

Look at how Princess Beatrice or Eugenie were raised, how they always behaved in the fold of Royalties. So did Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton and hundreds of other notable people. The one released picture of Andrew and Ghislane and the young woman appears to have been spliced together. I think all kinds of events from serious business meetings, family picnics, and sexual liaisons went on at the Island at DIFFERENT occasions, but they have only picked out Andrew. Based on only him being grabbed vs the other rich men, I choose to reserve judgement and have no problems with him being visible with his family. Hexwas the Queens closest son. Prince Philip supposedly hated Sarah immensely . He spoke his mind more than he should at times. He had spunk for sure. People knew his character and wasn’t surprised by his outbursts. The Queen really couldn’t do that though she had to keep her image well and steady regardless of what her husband and children did . I think Her Majesty tried her best to have a good relationship with children’s spouses/ex spouses as best she could for the sake of her beloved Grandchildren. I think Her Majesty was a patient and understanding person because she has had to be due her public role (which she fulfilled so well. )Bless her. Also,The York’s have done some shady business deals and shady bribing in the past besides Andrew’s Epstein dealings. With Andrew, I wouldn’t be surprised if he never cared about the repercussions it had on his family. It’s a real shame. The truth is that even if Sarah hated the Queen and vice versa, it wouldn’t make light of day and we’d never know it. It makes me sad in a sense that all of her children have caused chaos to the royal family and image at some point. Can’t imagine what that was like for her. I personally think Sarah is quite likable. Again , the level of decency of some reports is questionable. The queen was also a mother . Why people seem shocked and disgusted to see her son mourning ? Andrew’s situation will be debated on another period . Now , it’s a funeral , damn it!

It is right that she attended the funeral as she has known the Queen for many years. But if she had appeared in public before the funeral she would have been vilified for self-promotion, trying to increase her profile on the back of the queens death etc. The backlash would have been enormous, even though many people actually like her. I think she has behaved foolishly sometimes over the years but she has carved out a life for herself and not interfered with the royal family whilst being a good mum and being nothing but supportive and respectful towards the royals in recent years.
