Most people don't like Black metal first time they hear it. You have to train you're ear to it.Also Black metal makes me feel good, calm and satisfied, could never live without it. It's a part of who i am.
Great footage ! The guys in Mayhem look even MORE SCARY without make-up. They look more vivid and real because they seem normal and answer the questions they're given honestly and politely. Now THAT'S fuckin' freaky ! I just love the scene where FENRIZ shovels snow. AWESOME !
indiscutiblemente el black metal noruego jamas será superado, la verdad ojala volvieran aquellos tiempos en los que salieron los mejores albums, los que escuchan el buen black sabrán a lo que me refiero
@florgat91 I seriously doubt that. If you think so, you should realllly pay attention to the lyrics and the music execution (especially in its tone). Dragonforce and these bands are completely different, to me at least.
Norwegian, Swedish and Danish are part of the German language family and are closely related. That's why it may sound German to you (not that wrong since it's the Germanic language family).
Black Metal is soothing to those with dark souls. Not necessarily evil but dark. For those who don't understand the difference. The dark souls are those with lots of pent up anger and frustration towards the world. The evil ones are those with no morals and don't care about whats right or wrong. Most of us are just dark not truly evil.
He was refering to the subtitles! I can't read them very well to. Your video seems to be in 16:10 format stretched from 4:3. Why don't you reupload the documentary, but with better quality?!
They avoided Varg, and Gorgoroth to avoid stirring up controversies about the arsons and the murder of Euronymous, and the toture thing Ghaal got in trouble for a couple years ago. And about Immortal...I don't know, they should've covered them!
They left out Gorgoroth and Burzum because this is a presentation of the top5 international bands coming from Norway, a position niether of these bands possess.
the one thing I love about Venom, you can not say they were Christian. They may not sound like the black metal of today, but they sent an eloquent message. Cronos or whoever wrote the lyrics was an absolute poet. I respect Venom so much. Norway definitely has something going on. but Holland is the birthplace of black metal, sorry. I don't mean to offend you. I am carrying on Venom's message in the U.S.A.. By the way, Venom was not all about Satan, but it was always Satanic.
I also agree with "everybody". When I have listened to Black Metal I didn't even have idea what it has represented about. There are so many idiots hearing it now! But it is ok, 'cos just the true Black Metallers are going to stay this way during the next years. And I can add that I'm one from them. Great music style. Not only music style, but lifestyle, too. Black Metal has to live through out entire eternity !
@IGame4Jesus Not all black metal is satanic. But just because most of it are peapole starts thinking everything is. I'm not a fan of Black Metal myself, mainly because of what you are saying, but at the same time Black Metal sounds really powerfull and that makes it awesome.
The Black Metal phenomenon is certainly strong here in Norway and it was to my surprise when I arrived here. You might be inclined to think it is just a disenfranchised youth sub culture, however I've come to see that is not at all the case. It seems to me that it is a fantastic 'fuck you' to the Norwegian christian establishment, and they are very conservatively christian. Most of the BM heads are very intelligent, socially concious folk.
The downside, however, is that they all deviated from that which is widely considered the core basis of Black Metal, the reason why those I call the "true police" hate them so much. Cradle became the epicenter of Gothic Metal culture, Dimmu heavily embraced produced symphonics over harsh guitars, and Satyricon almost sound like Tanz Metal, now!
Well I dont know.. the fact they became successful doesn't make them shit to me. They.. or at least their new records...are kinda mainstream, but thats also bringing black metal to wider audience! I like them. and I don't judge which band's more black or more metal. Let everyobody listens what they s/he likes...
Well..being a metalfan is different then a Black Metal fan. Black Metal is farm more extreme, the atmosphere, everything. I'm a very introverted person at school, and people usually keep they're distance from me, and i'm scared of by a lot. But that's judging a book by it's cover. People should be more understanding of what this music makes us feel. Not just how they hear it.
This was the documentary that first got me into Black Metal almost five years ago.
You sir have just given the greatest answer to any question ever posed on RUclips. And i'm not joking around, that was seriously a badass answer.
Most people don't like Black metal first time they hear it. You have to train you're ear to it.Also Black metal makes me feel good, calm and satisfied, could never live without it. It's a part of who i am.
@AleveguzCob He is the drummer in the band Satyricon

@florgat91 I seriously doubt that. If you think so, you should realllly pay attention to the lyrics and the music execution (especially in its tone). Dragonforce and these bands are completely different, to me at least.

Very well said. I agree
@christurkthebrave yeah, its part of norway just as much as Oslo is
@AntonAnk what about....no?
Frost... drummer in Satyricon
Thanks
Honestly, I think Swedish Metal is generally the "most liked" at the moment, even outside of Black Metal.
Good Stuff!!!!
He's in jail.
Varg also denied any interveiws for this.
@AleveguzCob no he was Emperor

@AleveguzCob Frost from Satyricon
ooo... I loooooove norwegian metal
Dimmu Borgir's first two albums, For All Tid and Stormblast, were most definitely black metal. Then things...went downhill.
I like Finnish BM more than Norwegian :P Also where the hell is Immortal? They're my favorite out of all of them.
Where's burzum!
@IGame4Jesus Not all black metal is satanic. But just because most of it are peapole starts thinking everything is.
I'm not a fan of Black Metal myself, mainly because of what you are saying, but at the same time Black Metal sounds really powerfull and that makes it awesome.
That's Frost. Respect for Him.
Frost drummer of Satyricon.
He's not. Even if he was he is still definately a big name in the Black Metal genre.
interesting that they mentioned movies that inspired them to make such depraved content were banned in norway

@AleveguzCob Frost of Satyricon...

You are 100% Right, but it´s still black metal, but not the old school-style....
It's Frost. :)

Don't forget, Sweden's number 2 in black metal

norwegian. it's from the norwegian national tv

Well..being a metalfan is different then a Black Metal fan.
