You mean the cop that gave a couple of tickets to drivers? Yea, but he also ignored dozens and dozens of illegally parked cars surrounding him. I agree that he knew what he was doing, because by ignoring all those violations, he had a relaxed afternoon without too much work on his hands.

They don't have specific 'parking ticket' squads for that, while most wester countries do. Regular Russian traffic cops don't give a crap either. They're underpaid and only handle 'serious' problems.

The saddest part about all of these videos is... you guys are actually HELPING these people to avoid things like fines and tickets and towing (I dont know if your licenses have a "points" system for your licenses like in the US). I know a lot of the cops are lazy and dont want to enforce any of this stuff but I'm sure it MUST happen sometimes! And.... YAY another great cop/traffic officer!!
To these people it's like taking the beer can out their hand and putting it in the bin because they are outside. They choose to drive on the pedestrian path and risk the ramifications from police or traffic control (because it rarely happens) but the involvement of Stop a Douchebag is not a factor they calculated, thus why they get angry - because they didn't mentally prepare themselves for that possibility. They are not thinking about other people, only themselves.
Personally, I would have went with vodka bottle than beer can since its Russia ;) Yes clearly many are thinking JUST about their own convenience. I mean, we obviously see just a fraction of what they do, just by this episode alone they mention 30+ cars turned away. Theres a lot of herd mentality going on! On one hand its sad to see citizens having to step up to do what their government and fellow citizens wont, but at the same time its also pretty inspiring to see people willing to take the initiative in hand for the betterment of the community. And you can tell they dont mentally prepare themselves for the possibility because 90% have the same exact excuses XD
There is no point system out in Russia. Been out here 9 months now and people just drive like maniacs. The fines are a joke. They would take your license away for driving on the sidewalk in LA. In Moscow all I have to do is pay $40.
think about it this way in Moscow center to pay for parking its about 800-1000 rubles for a couple of hours about 11-15 dollars when a parking fine if you get one is about 500 rubles so less than 10 dollars. Tell me which one will you choose? There is free parking but finding one will take a while. Since i drive an American car with American plates i dont fuck around.

Most of the “Crosswalks” need the lines repainted. They need regular height curbs along the streets or roadways with only narrow low areas for wheelchairs, etc.
