People always joke about composers making albums to go free with their games.... but honestly, this soundtrack is less like any other game OST and more like a metal/prog album. Its amazing, Daisuke has grown to become a true songwriter and every track outdoes the last. Its astonishing.
It's totally an album first, then a fighting game. The tracks are literally much longer than any real match could ever be. They are done as a main thing and not as a background
I know that the game awards are a god damn joke, but let's still remember the travesty that GG didn't even get nominated for best soundtrack of the year

FGC monetization can be pretty dubious but it's not as simple as a situation as many would think.

@@SethAbercromby Well, I thought about and, simply put, to me is not necessarily about musicals genres, but more in what way this two songs goes. Bohemian Rhapsody is a roller-coaster of emotions. With that said, we could also say than Happy Chaos's theme fit more on that, but Drift have this same, sort of positive vibe all along. On the contrary, i think that Mirror of the world is also the roller-coaster in question, a pinacle a different emotions. But you know, i think the same way just because it's also the way how i feel this song, you don't need to agree. And btw, we could also say that with other GGS character's themes, you know :b
The down parts of the song are actually my favorites. They add so much depth to song that would otherwise be blasting sound. They could work on themselves too. It's why I love Pink Floyd's music
Quite a lot to talk about after the extra story, in particular "my vengeance will be sacrificed" Baiken giving up her revenge onto that man with Delilah and then "the hardest road lies ahead" for the past 20 years Baiken's only reason for living was to kill that man, but now she has to find another reason to live (probably in Delilah and Anji). And lastly: "i am not the exile" and "you are not the exile" Baiken and Delilah have not had normal lives by any means, Baiken effectively exiling herself to pursue revenge. But now that she no longer yearns for it, she will probably do her best to integrate into society.
Given she's been shown to be working with Delilah, and the fact that the REAL That Man is in Strive now, there's a good chance she's gonna be very important to the plot in this game.

When you have one whole minute of just silent guitar then it's just the sound of you and your opponent that makes the music and then whoever wins gets that badass metal scream intro which represents the winner of the first round. And plus if you and your opponent win every match up to match point then you get the badass "In the Light part" which makes both fighters seem like they stuck through the fight and are evenly matched.
People talk about the last half, but the first half is honestly my favorite part. Especially with the Buddhist vocals blended perfectly into heavy metal.

a lot of these tracks are straight up not structured and composed like fighting game music, and while it's frustrating to have them in matches, it makes them even more incredible and unique for all i know, Daisuke's entire goal all this time was releasing his experimental prog metal album in a Guilty Gear game, and i couldn't complain less

@@SethAbercromby Well, I thought about and, simply put, to me is not necessarily about musicals genres, but more in what way this two songs goes. Bohemian Rhapsody is a roller-coaster of emotions. With that said, we could also say than Happy Chaos's theme fit more on that, but Drift have this same, sort of positive vibe all along. On the contrary, i think that Mirror of the world is also the roller-coaster in question, a pinacle a different emotions.

And lastly: "i am not the exile" and "you are not the exile" Baiken and Delilah have not had normal lives by any means, Baiken effectively exiling herself to pursue revenge. But now that she no longer yearns for it, she will probably do her best to integrate into society.

@@BeTReZeN1 I like it better this way. When you have one whole minute of just silent guitar then it's just the sound of you and your opponent that makes the music and then whoever wins gets that badass metal scream intro which represents the winner of the first round.
And plus if you and your opponent win every match up to match point then you get the badass "In the Light part" which makes both fighters seem like they stuck through the fight and are evenly matched.
"Rush" levels of production quality. Truly amazing from a musical composition standpoint.
