Be Bop was primarily the vehicle for lead guitarist Bill Nelson's musical visions. The band has an interesting and eccentric catalog which features a lot of sci-fi references and Nelson's fiery fretboard work. The band was briefly produced by Roy Thomas Baker who also produced Queen. The band never broke big in the US, but they could definetely take you on a musical journey. "Maid in Heaven" is one of my favorites. Never heard a reaction to these guys before great suggestion.

    Now . . . ! Is the moment of truth .
Your youth is a mask but it's not made to last
For we all have a past to out run
    When the mask comes undone
And we race on and on
Through the fiery portals of hell . . . !
Go and tell all your friends
    That you've witnessed the end
Of the world in a dream .

My favourite band as a teenager. Most other kids had never heard of them. Their loss.

Wow, been Forever since I heard these guys, this is a real blast from the past as I have not heard these guys since the 80s. Something of theirs I think you would like is Crying to the Sky. Interesting request, definitely off the beaten track. Thanks for trying and Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

I'm SO happy to see this and that you enjoyed it. I was a little afraid that as an introduction to the band, it might be a bit "scattered". Be Bop Deluxe has an amazing collection of songs with a wide breadth of styles. I'm hoping that you'll get a number of suggestions from others for more songs from this band, but in the meantime, I'd like to suggest: "Adventures In A Yorkshire Landscape", "Jets At Dawn", "Axe Victim", "No Trains To Heaven", "Crying To The Sky", "Modern Music", Ships In The Night", Panic In The World" & "Sister Seagull".

Sister Seagull is generally regarded as their most iconic song. Saw them live late 70s

Worth digging into the catalog. 5 studio & 1 live LP. All a little different from each other.

Their sound reminds me of the band Asia from the early 1980:s! And that is a compliment! Pretty groovy!

Liked this one, some good key changes and guitar that reminds me of Steve Howe of Yes-Colin Ward

One of my two favorite bands of all time. Bill is one of the finest poets the world has ever produced. And one of the greatest guitar players. Oh, the other favorite band of mine is Hawkwind.

Bill was well ahead of Eddie FYI. Most every song he composes has this sort of depth of storytelling for the listeners enjoyment. His songs take you places in his boundless imagination if you are able to keep up. He is still active in his 70's. You should check out some of his other work, like anything he did with Red Noise.. and keep looking, lots of room on that phone right D1?
    Thanks Bill. Keep 'em coming.
