My handover was less than 10 minutes, and I've learnt so much from your video, thank you.
Very helpful. Got more info from this video than from my installers. In fact I got no info from my installers.
That’s really bad, this is the most important part of the installation and reduces any call backs for the installer.
very good, half of these things were not done with my installer. And it certainly didn't take him more than 15 minutes to walk me through these things. But then, I think he took me for a smart guy who knows most of these things already - which was nice :)
Sometimes less is more 😂
I was given one Years ago now by our local council. The system we had was a Heat King and it was a pile of the proverbial ! Hand over was this is the unit, this is your hot water tank, this is your room stat ... bye ! The unit was constantly flogging its guts out at all times of the day, rads never got really hot, water wasn't that much better either so we think it was probably undersized ?
The outdoor unit was loud as well, to the point that our blessed neighbours reported us to the council for noise as the defrost cycle "kept them awake" at night. The last straw was when we were contacted by our electricity supplier about our impending bill. The bill for 90 days was a staggering £890 up from about £150 ! at that the system got turned off and we sold it, opting then to install a multi fuel stove with back boiler.
Back to now we are just in the process of getting one installed in our new house, so I hope and prey they are a lot better now than out last experience.
Excellent explanation thanks. My installer was very comprehensive with the handover but there’s lots to remember so I’ll save this for future reference thanks ❤
Thanks, always enjoy these videos. I'm a heat pump convert and will probably get one in the future.
I think some kind of label maker would be a good idea, and then go nuts on everything so the home owner can see what everything is/does.
As a OG fan
Another brilliant video put accross so easy to understand and not boring at all 🎉
Thanks Mark
I wish I had all this info when I had my hp installed. I had mine as part of a new build and I had to message them to ask how to turn it on! This after finding the control unit in a box on top of my hw cylinder! After that I had to balance my radiators and found an airlock I had to sort too!!! This video makes me realise how bad some installers are!!
Thank you for your comment, it just shows how bad some installers are, that’s why we created this video.
Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience.
All the best.
Hi Ecobuble
Can i ask a couple of questions?
1- An ASHP will produce 10-15 litres per hour of condense discharge, this seem a large number unless always in defrost mode?
2- gylcol is pink and green, where do i buy this blue stuff?
3- Why are you using a telford cylinder instead of a daiken one are they better?
4- that looks a very small cylinder maybe 120-150L is it a 1 bed property?
5- Seprate zone valve with high limit stat(not using daiken esma valve?)not a causes load of issues?
6- Lever valve on hot water outlet, seen this before but cant be good practice?
7- the size of that outdoor unit is massive, go back to number 4?
8- wheres the isolator for the imersion heater?
9- wheres the fused spare for the separate high limit stat, is it that on the right thats not labeled up?
10- red ring of death is robbed from xbox when it meant it was fecked, doubt daiken like that term?
11- The handover probaly took longer than it took the spark to lash them cables everwhere.
Great system, and very well explained for us oldies. Thanks. Can you call Maine this pump with the Mixergy smart hot tank?
I think you meant to say "can you combine". If so the answer is yes. I have exactly that. Seems to be working well. 👍
My handover was neither comprehensive nor reassuring. Luckily for me I asked lots of the important questions all week long during the install. I also spent countless hours researching and learning about the system long before the install went ahead. I can't blame the lead engineer for the brief handover, I guess after the week in my house he had clocked me as an annoying know-it-all customer.
So far, so good.
The only thing they told me was about those two switches for the water pressure. They were in such a hurry to get away. And the two switches I can’t turn!
I’m glad this video has help. All the best 😊
I don't know why I'm here, but she knows what she's talking about.
I want to see how much rain water gets on the evaporator from that roof, can you put a live camera there for this winter please. Pretty please.
Wow I want that heat pump! What's the model and tons or btu? Thanks.
Thanks, it’s a Daikin HHT high temperature heat pump. 14kw

Why should you have an additional electricity meter?
You need to monitor the electrical usage of the system, MCS requirement.
Love the magic fuchsia which appears, disappears then reappears
....'As always'.....opps...😂
Quick question, would it not be more efficient to run the heat pump on excess solar and pump that heat into the house than to use a immersion heater at 1:1
Yes we now have a system for that, wasn’t available at time of installation.
Hi thank you for the information 😊 Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery
Surprised they didn’t paint walls and insulate rafters before this went in.
Will that system work with microbore 10mil pipe?
Yes it has a buffer
Does it affect the cop much?
👍
I think they also call it
Machine human interface now
I haven’t heard that, thought it was still called “Man” Machine
So when there is a power outage...what then??
You have no heating like everyone else even with boilers, unless you have a woodburner, or a large battery backup. 😀
What's the point then? You freeze until power comes back on? Or you have a back up? Heat pumps are tremendously expensive in the winter way beyond gas or wood. What's the point having one in the first place when you need a back up system.
@@glenhudson8070 A gas or oil boiler wont run without electricity either. You have a back up for those?
If you are a Vulnerable Person who needs your Gas or oil heating to stay on you will need a UPS in line with your Boiler! or if its on a plug top it might be easyer to install or swap to a camping type Backup in the event of a Power Cut or Outage if your American.
If you have an electric car with Vehicle To Load (V2L) capability, like me, you just plug the heat pump into the car and you have heating for days.
Anyway, power outages are incredibly rare. I live in a remote location on a Scottish Island and haven't had an unplanned outage since Snowmaggedon in 2010, when we were without power for ten days. That was a once in a hundred years event and we were fine. Had we had an EV and a heat pump we would have barely been inconvenienced.
LOLIf you see flames RUN😢
A white elephant. Regret this product at your leisure.
Too much information, that is not a hand over.
May be you should show us your handover video @kenbone4535, I would imagine it’s “Don’t touch it love, it’s all set up” 😂
@@ecobubl not quite Mr Perrin
I would never ever touch an outdoor device case with my hands that is using electricity in any way. You never know if it's grounded.
Too complicated for the majority of people.
