That's a Nice young hound seems he was running to catch that bunny!🙂👍🏼I like your videos you have some nice rabbit dogs... one of these days I'm going try get on one of your black and tan list for a pup... keep them videos coming tho! Thumbs 👍🏼
First off, I love your videos! Second, I just purchased my first beagle and I’m new to rabbit hunting with a dog. I very much am looking forward to the challenges of training him! My main passion is deer hunting though and I was wondering if you can train a beagle to also track wounded deer as well as still hunt rabbits. I appreciate any advice!
Thank you. Yes that can be done but I would advise you to keep those two things separate it takes a lot of time in the woods with your dog for him to get the understanding of what your wanting at what time I would also consider a beagle with strong tracking power for your Track Dog that will be some of the slower breeds
Hey man. Just got my first beagle pup. Supposedly the parents both good hunters but I have no idea how to train him. He’s 11 weeks old and seems to catch on quick. I have hunted rabbits my whole life but never with dogs. Any advice on store bought rabbit scents or can I use a tame rabbit? Thanks for the videos and any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again
Hey I’m in the same situation as you. I had a friend of mine shoot a rabbit in his garden and I keep it frozen. I take it out and tie it to a long pole and then drag it around to make a trail. I finish the trail in some brush or tall grass and leave it there. Then I put her on the scent and when she gets close, I pick up the pole and run/spin around to simulate the chase. She gets very excited and howls as she chases it. I’ve been doing this and also taking her for walks to look for real ones.
Breeding a line of dogs that I like, the only problem that I have is quite a few in each litter will be shy and I really don't have the patience to deal with them any suggestions other than pissing on them or around them
I was on your web site and seen you email and I tried sending a message but it said you account was closed, maybe I'm doing something wrong is there any way of getting in contact with you. I'm interested in your hounds very impressed.

Do you ever use a shock collar to break from deer?
Yip - you cannot train drive - it's bred into them or not. Great videos. Thanks.

I enjoy going through the process of raising a pup from start to finish. Wear them boots out.

Try breeding to a bolder dog in that same blood line . It sounds like a genetic issue
That’s good breeding you polish him up but he was breed to be a rabbit dog!!

Wounded maybe not a rabbit? Wrong animal you mess with?😂
Can I teach untrained adult adopted dogs for hunting?
If it’s in their blood to be hunters
@@PearsonsBeagles24 no😞 I guess they were inside small cages though they are beagle but they are v domesticated
@@PearsonsBeagles24 If they have the genetics, they can be trained. If not they won't "hunt"
@@johnsonr9 Never say never but the question is do you have time to do something that most have not.
How do you handle shy dogs?
