Nice video Charles, Hard work and time pays off. I like how you explain the difference enclosure in your video. I'm looking forward to see what's coming in the future. Thanks for the video, keep them on the ground makes them better with time.
I've never trained a rabbit dog but I'm wanting to start. I have a 3 yr old beagle. Would it be better to try and train her or start fresh with a new set of pups? Not sure if it would be a waste of time trying to teach her. Also any info for a new guy would be appreciated.
What type of chicken wire did you use? My local farm store has 6’ tall 150’ long for $100 but it has 2 inch spacing. Pretty sure it’s 20 gauge also but didn’t ask. Will adult rabbits get out of 2” spacing?
What’s your thoughts on using Tennessee redbacks? At what age of dog do you think they would start to catch the Tennessee redback, “upper medium speed dogs, weir creek, fish creek breed”. With Tennessee redbacks you could control population by adding 1 male per acre at a time insuring your population control. What are your numbers per acre on a finished hound vs a starting pen for 3 month old?
That will be subjective. I don’t use tame rabbits anymore but I have in the past. I just prefer the way a wild rabbit runs.As for the numbers it is also subjective, I have maybe three rabbits in my 10 acres I think they become better hunters that way.
Narcotics dogs have their toys covered with the scent they are supposed to find when they are puppies in order to develop that strong drive young. Have you tried anything like that?
Awesome pen. Thank you for the in-depth info on it. I’m really considering building one as I work 12’s. Just for puppies. What was the total cost? Easy to find rabbits worries me. Seems like every so often you may have to shoot some inside to keep population down. I suppose an older trusted hound set on a timer over a couple days at yearly intervals to check rabbit population would work? Say he finds them every 5 minutes time to shoot a few. Doing a check up like that would be less work than actually running pups 24/7 however. Again thanks for the information. I enjoy your channel.
In the beginning yes but not anymore after getting the trees out and I think the 5ft helps as well. Adding a fence in the animals natural habitat was something they had to get used to so yes they would run into it and try to get back in that area I’m sure were some of them were born.
Fantastic enjoyed your video. Love watching beagles run.
That's great. Do what you need to do. Have not talked to you in a while. Nice to see something
Great video Charles! I love my three pups I purchased from you that were started in your pen!
Thanks James, yes those three pups did well here. They showed talent very early.

I enjoyed your video bro keep up the hard work
Nice video Charles
How did you tension chicken wire? Did you pull it tight by hand or use a come-a-long. Is chicken wire 20 gauge?
Where did you buy your fence? I am getting ready to put a pen up now.
Very informative there my brother! Keep handling tht business! 💯🖤
Great video bro

She can learn but if she hasn’t tried to run a rabbit on her own maybe it’s not in her DNA. Starting fresh sounds way better idea.
Good video my brotha BJ Beagles 💯

@@lennylink8772 no I have not, only wild Rabbits
Thanks for the videos man. Could I start my puppy on a tame rabbit
Yes but transition him as soon as possible nothing is better than the real thing the same scent he will be running for the rest of his life.

Spacing on your t-post too please? My property was old cow pasture so I have a lot of free t-post.
T post 10 feet apart and with me doing the work 8000 not including cleaning off the land
Great video do you have problems with deers jump in or running into the fence

What age you recommend collar breaking your puppy, and putting them in a starting pen?
There are many different opinions on that but I have better outcomes when I let them get around 5-6 months of age.
Mr. Pearson, if someone out of state wanted to get you to start some puppies & will pay all shipping cost, will you allow that ?
I don’t start pups for the public only in house sorry.
You said you got alot of pups so you will have some for sale ? You got a nice setup
Thanks, all pups are spoken for. Will be breeding again early spring.
Agree total
Hey buddy it’s me YELLOW COLLAR 😂 from Ga. Do you have any puppies for sale?
