I thought “why is there a 6 minute video on this?” But I actually learned quite a bit! I also love how you say “make a meal out of fruit.” Those are my favorite breakfast mornings: coffee, banana, strawberries, peaches and get on with my day. Hydrating, sweet, and delicious
What I do is leave them out in a bowl in the kitchen. Once I begin smelling them in the room, I know they're ripe. I then put them in the refrigerator. I prefer chilled fruit. Also, that way they don't over-ripen.
This video is way more helpful than the most viewed one on here about the same thing - i dont get it. You actually told us how to know the texture, and the ripping it apart etc. Other one has basically no information other than " put the peach out and let it get ripe " ... Like ok. 😂
I went to a 10 day retreat, they served 'Packham' pears, green and hard. Nowhere near being edible. The pears should have been served soft to the touch and with a slight yellow.
Man that was such a perfect looking peach

I just ate a crunchy peach. I stored it at room temperature on my counter for over a week. I don't know why it didn't ripen.

Some pears are considered ripe when they are firm.
