Someone strongs comes out of nowhere, he's too strong so they train, they become stronger but for some reason they won't kill him, then the enemy becomes even stronger and someone sacrifices themselves to defeat it. Add random transformations, rinse and repeat indefinitely.
But don't you think they made beat up Jiren pretty bad after Goku turned to MUI, no offense to Goku but all the training for SSJ Blue even Kaioken X20 seemed worthless he can't even make Jiren break a sweat on the other hand Vegeta gave him some fight in SSJ Royal Blue@@nomzywtf5011

Super Saiyan God never got a single win and the only times Super Saiyan Blue won was against Golden Frieza but Frieza only lost to Super Saiyan Blue Goku because he made the same mistake on Namek. Stamina issues. Then Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta if you count it, then Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta Vs Hearts if you count that. Only three wins if you count Gogeta and Hearts, and if Frieza didn’t make the same mistake as he did on Namek like an idiot, and you don’t count Broly or Hearts, Super Saiyan Blue would not have a single win. Not one!

The stronger you get with wrights on, the stronger tou get with weights off. This is a perfectly good reason for them to gradually raise levels only once they realize they have hit a hard ceiling.
