That’s so sad and inspiring 🥰 I hope u never give up and keep on going! I have a guitar that my grandad gave me and then he passed away I treasure it to 😥
Hi, I’m taking my first lesson Wednesday.....had a free session last week. It overwhelming! This is on my bucket list, I’m 72 and never played any instrument. Wish me luck......p.s. your video is inspiring
People in the comments: "Holding down Ukelele chords really does hurt" *Me who plays steel string guitar "I can't feel the pain anymore....I can't feel anything anymore..."

I literally just got a ukelele yesterday and I was browsing youtube for tutorials, and seeing everyone play so effortless I was wondering if I should return the uke back cos I couldn't even hold it properly. Thanks to this video, a fresh wave of motivation hit me. I hope ill get there too! thank you so much for taking us through your journey!
I literally bought a ukulele two days ago and I don't play any other instrument. Strumming and holding the chords really do hurt a lot. I'm so glad I came across this video. It's really inspiring!
because of the quarantine I literally spend all day practicing the uke so I've kind of gotten just about to where Eden is at her two month mark in a couple days. But this is mostly because I spend all day (very very literally)
Hi, I never usually comment on videos, but I'd just like to thank you and your sister for your videos which have given me the encouragement not to give up. You are both beautiful people, and not just in the superficial sense of the word (though you are that as well obviously). Your generosity and encouragement and willingness to show vulnerability is a great advert for how the internet can be a force for good. Huge thanks
changing chords at first can get hard!! the more you get used to the actual chord formation, the easier it is to switch to it. even just practice slowly going between chords too
I got my ukulele a YEAR ago. I didn’t play it last year because it would hurt my fingers so much. But, now since quarantine, is trying to learn and I’m having trouble QwQ
I've been learning guitar for two years and ukulele for two years after that, and my teacher just passed away four months ago...😢 he is such a good friend😭 I miss him so much. I play for him to make him proud.
This give me confidence thank you! At first I thought me being slow at playing was UNNATURAL but this video give me proof I can do it thank you! You have a BIG IMPROVEMENT
I literally just picked up my ukulele and tried a chord and was like OMG!!! MY FINGERS ARE TOO FAT!!!! Today (maybe tomorrow) will be my day one!!! This is the best video ever! Thank you! I have some hope now!!!!
Uke wasn't hard for me to pick up, on day one I could do the basic chords and sing while playing. Now on the 5th month, am strumming and making my own little songs now :D Please note that before Uke, I played the acoustic Guitar and sang while doing it, I've been playing for 3 years so that made Uke easier for me to pick up. Don't give up guys, you can do it! It just takes hard work and effort ^^
@@vivilev8031 timing, you just have to keep in mind that on certain words you have to strum a different chord :DDD you'll perfect it on the way but that's what I did
@@livii4809 i manage to change chords in the right time its just really the strumming is a struggle. I mean when i start the sing i lose the strumming pattern and it sounds a mess. :((( But thank you ill keep practicing im just being too impatient
@@vivilev8031 I suggest trying to play the song at a slower tempo and at one part at a time :DDD maybe memorize the strumming first and then start singing, your muscle memory should tap in
My ukulele arrives tomorrow. This has been a goal I have been wanting to do for a long time. After watching so many tutorials I am excited to learn. Watching your video struck a chord with me and I am inspired. Thank you so much!
I'm an old guy picking up ukulele after MANY years of not playing, so I feel like a beginner. Thanks for your videos...the point is to have fun! I plan to keep playing so that some day my strings might not sound so muted. You ladies are an encouragement. Thank you and keep playing and keep having fun!
i've been playing for 3 days and i know about 7 songs. i'm really proud of how quickly i've been able to learn the ukulele but i still have more to learn about the ukulele. pretty much all my strings are muted 24/7 transitioning is soooo hard and on the first day, i honeslty was going to give up. NEVER GIVE UP!!!
The one full of thoughts- you got this, I totally was in your boat. It’s hard but you got it. Just keep practicing. (I still sometimes have trouble transitioning to g and I have been playing for 2 years.
i cant even do the correct G and D chords right ;-;; its like i changed the posituons of my fingers. its a little bit easier, but i dont know if thats legal or no
I’ve been actively playing for a little over a year and I love it! I know over 20 chords and a bunch of strumming patterns and I’m super proud. I have (technically) been playing for four years but I didn’t even own one for the first two and I hated playing. Now I’m obsessed. You’re doing great Eden! Love you❤️
Me on my first day: **looks up songs for beginner uke** List: **shows nursery rhymes** Me: haha no. Imma go play the beetles. The song “Let it be” is sooooo fun for beginners, if you want to sing as well XD
Also “Why Does the Sun Shine” by They Might be Giants (look for their official site TMBW) which only uses G, D, C, and E Also the Adventure Time Theme Song only uses G, D, and C too (this was my first song ❤️)
I'm currently learning Ukulele now and I'm on my 9th day and I'm so frustrated for i really struggle on transitioning and strumming but after I saw this it gives me hope that i can still learn. Thank you so much for this. It helped me a lot.
I watched this a year after she posted this. With a new ukulele in hand. I was excited to get to the point where I can say “yeah, I can play!” Two years later, I got there :) I had to push through some major frustration, just keep practicing! Pick it up everyday, even for 5 minutes.
I've had my Ukulele for 6 days and I have been practicing each day, this inspires me to keep going as I want to gain the confidence and skills to play along with any song that I like! Thank you for posting and I will follow along!
@@wolfiebear888 Notice at 1:49 when Elise plays the strings, the second and third string are not producing a proper sound (almost like a thud). This is either because you're not pressing hard enough, or because your other fingers are accidentally touching the string. I hope this makes sense!
I just got my first ukulele today. It's just a small $20 one, but perfect for me to start learning. I hope I can learn it easily and not struggle so hard.
I just want to say that you were one of my biggest inspiration and that you have no idea how much your ukulele journey means to me. I started Ukulele at about your 2 weeks mark, and you were like my distant uku friend. I would try to catch up with your progress, watch your videos to try to learn from you or just enjoy seeing you struggling the same things i do. Now I'm on my way to mastering the guitar, and it was due in large part to you and your sister's video. There's really no way to thank you enough.
This video changed everything for me. I got a uke 6 months ago but wasn't really expecting to ever get any good at it. After watching this video a few weeks ago I've been practicing everyday for at least an hour and I'm loving it. You and your sister are awesome. Thanks!
Ainhara Cecilia Aita Arrascue I’m sure her singing improved with the practice as well as her confidence. Pretty much everything gets a little better over time if you practice
Wow watching this is weird for me. I started playing ukulele when I was 3 because my dad played ukulele and guitar professionally (he was a music teacher but then he quit to play with his band full time) he taught me to have perfect pitch and to play the ukulele from very young so it’s always just been a thing I can do. I’ve always been able to sing and play whatever chord I want with ease, I can also do fingerpicking surprisingly easily. It takes me about an hour or two of just solid playing to learn a new song if it’s really complex. I’m extremely grateful of my father teaching me uke straight away. Being able to play an instrument is an amazing blessing, whether you can just play one chord or eighty. My dad is currently on tour in the Americas with his jazz band playing with some of the best musicians still alive, while I’m stuck at home doing my GCSEs 🙄 But I did get to go with him on his tour of Europe and I got to play with people I’ve only since found out are actually legends in the jazz world. It’s amazing to see your progress. You should definitely keep it up, music is the closest thing to magic there is. You are already an awesome player, and to get there in just a year is amazing. Keep up the great progress! ❤️
Also, if you want to start doing fingerpicking, and you haven’t already, I recommend you start with something really easy like ‘Happy birthday’ but then straight after you get the hang of it and you are fine with reading TABs go to do a more intermediate song like ‘Here comes the sun’ If you jump straight into it you’ll get a way better understanding much faster I think. That and ‘Here comes the sun’ is just a really fun song to play..
I’m 65 yo and began learning ukulele during the Covid lockdowns mainly to keep me busy and hopefully the singing might help a lung condition I developed. I can absolutely connect with your journey. I still struggle with some chord changes and bar chords . You and your sister look like good mates . I love that. You inspire me to keep practicing and be happy with where you are 💞🌸
Thank you for posting your 1 year progress. I literally started learning (aged 66!) one week ago, my husband bought me my first uke. I'm at the sore finger stage right now so watching your video has spurred me on as learning all the cords etc is quite a challenge atm.
tengo 3 dias con mi ukulele, y he visto como 50 tutoriales "aprende a tocar en 10 minutos" ya estaba desanimandome, pero este video me dio nuevos animos, me pondre una primera meta de 6 meses, gracias por este video!!
I just started last week and I'm getting more confident by the day. Every practice I can feel myself getting more comfortable. My fingers hurt like you at first and I still can't sing and strum but that's a goal I'm setting for myself! I actually follow your sisters tutorials (they are so helpful) and I didn't know she had a sister! So I will start following you as well ❤️keep doing what you're doing!
Eden, thank you so much for sharing this video. I am a 52 yr old who has longed to learn to play guitar, but I have a condition that effects my hands, and I was just not able to do it. So I picked up a ukelele a few weeks ago, and my hands don’t mind it so much! Watching your progress was so encouraging to me! I look forward to to the day that I can strum and sing together as well! Keep up the great music!
oouu yayy. Trust me, it's hard and first and requires a lot, so much, SO FREAKING MUCH, patience. But it's all fun and worth it at then end. A beginner song I reccomend is "July" by Noah Cyrus.
This was so encouraging to me! I just got a ukulele today at 32 years old. I hope I can improve like you did over the next year. Thank you for being so awesome and sharing this! It makes others feel like they can really do this!
Ah thank you, it’s really reassuring to see your progress. Now I’ll know it’ll get easier in the future 😅 it’s my first day, 4th hour of playing the ukulele.
I just want to say thank you for posting this. I just picked up the Ukulele after playing Bagpipes for 10 years. I am so excited to see my progress now! Thank you, great job
62 playing 4 weeks but now in lockdown just learnt beethovens fur Elise in an evening. Super proud of myself. Also Beatles yesterday, and radioheads creep . Should in theory be ace by the time we get let out LOL. But I doubt it. My fingers hurt.
I've been playing ukelele since may or june consistantly and I just rather recently learned how to do bar chords! When I first started I avoided the songs with them because I thought they were impossible because of my small hands. But now I can play a BM chord! I kinda avoid strumming patterns but maybe I should practice haha. Good job eden, keep it up!
I’ve been doing uke for about a year and a half now. I am soon switching to guitar. I LOVE ukulele, and will still ALWAYS play and practice it, you can never learn too much! I know HEAPS of chords, I can sing and play with any strumming pattern, and can now write my own songs and add my own chords, and record it. It’s been AMAZING, and I learnt so fast thanks to my ukulele teacher, and my school. Never give up if it gets tricky, that’s good! When your brain is struggling, it will help get better faster than if you played something you already knew. It’s SO FUN, and uke will always hold a special place in my heart🥺❤️
Lilxpotadoe good question! First learn these three chords:C, A minor, F, and for a bit of a challenge-G. The first song I learnt was Riptide, which it funny because it is kinda hard for beginners. The first song I think you should ,learn is... I can’t think of anything! A good thing to do is to choose your own song then look up ‘*your chosen song* ukulele chords’, then press the link to ukulele tab. It really cool because it shows the lyrics and the chords in one. If you don’t know the chords used in your song, look them up on RUclips. Hope this helped!
Great Job ALOHA! I started about 2 years ago and I was determined to really know the chords and the strumming styles mostly from the RUclips channel. Since I live in Hawaii, my hubby was a USN Vet. and decided to stay here after he retired. So, I was so excited to learn how to play the UK with little help from my Hula Teacher, Nalani. I have always dreamed of learning how to play the Ukulele confidently but I never made the time nor the money for the lesson ($30/ 30min) before, until one day, I told my husband that I want to learn how. My amazing husband bought me a Kala Ukulele, a really sleek and sexy style around $350. He knew that I really want to learn how to play with confidence. There are so many songs that are really easy from 3-5 chords. I usually watch Cynthia Lin's channel on RUclips. She is very good at teaching the UK esp. if you are a beginner like I used to be. The main thing is that you are determined to learn and practice, practice, practice. It's a great hobby, especially during this pandemic. I am so proud of myself that I can now dance the Hula and play the Ukulele. Anybody can do it too. A hobby that will always be with me when we decide to move to the mainland. I might even teach, for free, how to dance the Hula and play the Ukelele...Happy Uku-ing.
My husband just got me my first uke for Christmas! He plays guitar, he’s so excited to play with me! Thanks for this video, it was very inspiring. I’m gonna go practice now!
i'm back again here from feb. 2 2019 It was the 1st day i bought my own uke because of Elise💕 I watched this 'cause at first I was really sad for I can only like Down Strum everytime . I can only do the 4 most common chords or the C G Am F chords. I was very inspired by you and Elise to keep continuing what I love to do which is to play uke. Now It's almost 1 year lol I mean 1 month more and it's going to be 1 year and I am happy to say that I've already showcased my uke skills in our school. I played uke in our camping and currently getting ready to join a talent show. I am also helping a friend who's a beginner at playing uke. You guys did great at making us believe we can do things. Thank you to the both of you!
I Love Maze Runner and every day I- wait I shouldn’t say this I don’t know if you’ve read the third book or not. If you have, I hope you know what I’m talking about. We shall pray. 👏
I am 40 and I just bought my first ukulele - this was very inspiring! It’s my new year’s resolution to learn to play it. I have done my first beginners lesson today and I my hand hurts a bit - but I am hopeful. Can’t wait til I feel more comfortable with holding and changing chords, so I can sing along while I am playing.
I really want to learn to play the ukulele I can’t read music and have never actually played an instrument before do you think I can do it? Also does anyone know any good ukuleles for beginners?
It's okay I think everyone can if you WANT and HAVE COURAGE to do it. ( #nothingisimpossible ) Actually the note (music 🎼🎵🎶) it doesn't matter if you can read or not cus for ukulele it's all different, but it's okay (you still can learn it) + there's a lot of ukulele tutorial that has the picture of the chord so if you keep practicing I know you will automatically can read music and can memorize all the chords, strum, etc. Idk if you understand cus my vocab is not great wkwkwk, working on it Well...I just want to tell a story (short one) that I liked ukulele so much and watch all the tutorials it's super mesmerizing but then I've never have strings instruments and I can't even play guitar (my hands🤚🔥🔥,lol) but I still watch the ukulele tutorials anyway. I didn't even ask my parents to give me a ukulele, but because they know that I love ukulele on my birthday they gave me one and it's a super lovely ukulele and I'm freaking excited so I started to play the ukulele. Since I have watch so many tutorials and have memorized thorough the bone , when I tried to play it I automatically can play a song🤓I was surprise but yeah I keep on doing it till now.
this video is so helpful, because i started like 2 days ago and i’m tryna play riptide and i keep muting the strings and struggling with changing chords and it gets so fustrating so it’s nice to see that it’s gonna get better!
I have actually been playing ukulele for almost three years now, though i will admit i have never practiced as much as i should and haven’t done very much in the way of challenging myself in learning either. that being said, i finally started working on more complex chords (i just mean bar chords) and picking patterns. it’s nice to see someone else’s journey. keep working at it! practicing is all it takes as you seem to have taken in stride :)
As a new, doubtful ukulele player, thanks for reminding me it takes time and a lot of practice!! 😌 - from, someone who was very close to giving up learning. X
I started playing the ukulele about a year ago, and my progress is still the same as when I started......... *awful* Edit: The only song I can play is your story time song😂
@@EdenEcklund yes. I'm playing the ukulele to. I was 7 years old when I learn the ukulele it hurt but I didn't say anything. Now I'm 13 playing the ukulele .then going to learn the piano and guitar. Good luck hope you play batter than me. 😂 hahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahu
I studied ukulele all by myself by just googling “-insert fave song name here- ukulele” and usually clicking on uketabs or some page like that and just trying until I got it. I would say “Riptide” is the best for learning. The video of Grace Vanderwaal (sorry if I spelled it wrong) teaching “I don’t know my name” helped me a lot with strumming.
Thank you for sharing your 1 year journey! I see that you also have a 2 year progress... but honestly, this 1 year journey is an inspiration. My Grandma taught me how to play when I was very little and I never kept up on it. My husband bought me my own uke a few years ago for my birthday and I am JUST picking it up, determined to be able to play it!! My goal is to be able to play over the holidays for my family and THIS shows me that I can do that! THANK YOU! (You also inspire me to record my own progress!!)
Hi I’m getting a uke for Christmas and I’ve been memorizing chords and strumming patterns already in just wondering how long it takes for it to stop hurting on your fingers :) thanks
So inspiring to me. I just started playing 3 weeks ago. Feel like I'm making some progress but having trouble moving from chord to chord. Especially Em. G is easier for me. So glad to see you playing songs with just easy chords. Gives me hope. And strumming! And singing along! Wow! Thanks so much!
I love your progress video because you show how much you were struggling in the beginning. Most youtubers just show the most amazing progress from like the first week, but yours was so realistic and so encouraging! I plan to learn acoustic guitar but I might pick up the ukelele too! (my mom has one at home hehehe)
When you were starting out it looked like you were strumming over the sound hole, as you got better you moved to strumming over the end of the fret board and up. I find it easier over the fret board end or a little higher up from the end, it’s one reason to move up to a concert, or tenor, is to comfortably get your hand between the sound hole and the end of the fretboard. I have fat short fingers, wished I had yours, from what I can tell a bit long and skinny.
Hi! You did good job Eden. You're really funny and kind person. I play the ukulele too. In five days I will playing the ukulele for five months, so I will be halfway to reach 1 year ;). Greetings from Czech Republic, and have a nice day!
I'm sorry, I now realized that five months aren't a half of the year :D, I'm affected by school - school is for ten months but one year is twelve months :DD.
I'm really glad I watched this. I've had my uke for 3 days and being unable to sing and strum is killing me. I can sing single strum or play dduudu no vocals. This has actually given me renewed motivation seeing how well your doing thanks
Yea I noticed that also. I'm 2 weeks into playing uke. Learned those 4 cords within 2 days. And now I'm at the point where I can play sound of silence, somewhere over the rainbow, la vie en rose, and hallelujah
Maybe she tends to listen to songs with those chords. Like, I notice that tons of my favorite songs use the chords C#m, F#m, G#, and A. She likes songs with C, Am, F, and G. Like... most people do. She does say at the end that she wants to learn more chords.
i'm self taught and i learned to play part of a song in one day, a LOTT of the chords were muted but in one to a couple of days of hours of practice i finally learned to fluently play the song! practice makes perfect also since i was practicing for long periods of time, no break, my fingers started to turn red and blistered lol. if ur gonna practice for a long time take 5 min intervals to prevent further pain in your fingers :)

Huge thanks
Thank you for your kind words❤️
I just started yesterday, I get so frustrated. I can’t switch my fingers fast enough!! I totally feel like I can’t do it, but I am determined.
changing chords at first can get hard!! the more you get used to the actual chord formation, the easier it is to switch to it. even just practice slowly going between chords too
I started yesterday and I can barely do one song 🤦♀️

I got my ukulele a YEAR ago. I didn’t play it last year because it would hurt my fingers so much. But, now since quarantine, is trying to learn and I’m having trouble QwQ
I thought Elise was voicing over for a second. They sound so similar like holy crap

Yeah ik but they sound crazy similar
right, except eden’s voice is a little deeper
@@jjjulianne yeah, edens voice is more practised and mature, while Elise's sounds younger and has more awkwardness.
What song were they singing at that 2 months practice mark like around 5:00

I've been learning guitar for two years and ukulele for two years after that, and my teacher just passed away four months ago...😢 he is such a good friend😭 I miss him so much. I play for him to make him proud.
This give me confidence thank you! At first I thought me being slow at playing was UNNATURAL but this video give me proof I can do it thank you! You have a BIG IMPROVEMENT
Thank you! And you absolutely can do it :)) you got this!
I literally just picked up my ukulele and tried a chord and was like OMG!!! MY FINGERS ARE TOO FAT!!!! Today (maybe tomorrow) will be my day one!!! This is the best video ever! Thank you! I have some hope now!!!!
Erika Staggs HAPPY 4 MONTHS
Happy 8 months! I've been playing around a little over year now, and am working on barre chords. Whatre you working on?
Happy 10 months
Hope your still going
Erika Staggs happy 10 months! Hope you have been learning!
Happy 10 months
Uke wasn't hard for me to pick up, on day one I could do the basic chords and sing while playing. Now on the 5th month, am strumming and making my own little songs now :D
Please note that before Uke, I played the acoustic Guitar and sang while doing it, I've been playing for 3 years so that made Uke easier for me to pick up. Don't give up guys, you can do it! It just takes hard work and effort ^^
Same i just bought mine 2days ago and im already learning my 2nd song. The hard part is singing along while playing :((((
How do you even????!!!

My ukulele arrives tomorrow. This has been a goal I have been wanting to do for a long time. After watching so many tutorials I am excited to learn. Watching your video struck a chord with me and I am inspired. Thank you so much!
@C.L. Muir hows your progress going
10:21 " I have never played in front of anyone before at this time." You calling Elise a nobody? Lol
CatVader :3 she probably meant like alot of people
she probably meant someone other than her own sister and teacher
I loooooveeee how Elise was sooo patient and encouraging! We all need that!
i've been playing for 3 days and i know about 7 songs. i'm really proud of how quickly i've been able to learn the ukulele but i still have more to learn about the ukulele. pretty much all my strings are muted 24/7 transitioning is soooo hard and on the first day, i honeslty was going to give up. NEVER GIVE UP!!!
I just started playing, do you think you can give me the list of the songs? (mine r kinda hard) I would really appreciate it :)
I’m learning to play ukulele too, and transitioning to G is really so hard! But I’m trying my best hahah
The one full of thoughts- you got this, I totally was in your boat. It’s hard but you got it. Just keep practicing. (I still sometimes have trouble transitioning to g and I have been playing for 2 years.
The one full of thoughts I know it’s so annoying

i cant even do the correct G and D chords right ;-;; its like i changed the posituons of my fingers. its a little bit easier, but i dont know if thats legal or no

Love you❤️

The song “Let it be” is sooooo fun for beginners, if you want to sing as well XD
:3
Also “Why Does the Sun Shine” by They Might be Giants (look for their official site TMBW) which only uses G, D, C, and E
Also the Adventure Time Theme Song only uses G, D, and C too (this was my first song ❤️)

I'm learning guitar and can relate
I watched this a year after she posted this. With a new ukulele in hand. I was excited to get to the point where I can say “yeah, I can play!” Two years later, I got there :)
I had to push through some major frustration, just keep practicing! Pick it up everyday, even for 5 minutes.
I've had my Ukulele for 6 days and I have been practicing each day, this inspires me to keep going as I want to gain the confidence and skills to play along with any song that I like! Thank you for posting and I will follow along!
How is your progression? So curious!
"how is it muting???" so relatable lol
purple ink what does it mean by muting?
@@wolfiebear888 Notice at 1:49 when Elise plays the strings, the second and third string are not producing a proper sound (almost like a thud). This is either because you're not pressing hard enough, or because your other fingers are accidentally touching the string. I hope this makes sense!
purple ink sorry kind of yes. Thanks!
YES
I just got my first ukulele today. It's just a small $20 one, but perfect for me to start learning. I hope I can learn it easily and not struggle so hard.
Did you get better?
is it tuned?
Thanks!
I started playing about 4 days ago and this is giving me hope I’ll get the strumming right one day 😂

I know a secret how to develop strumming the easy way
I am most amazed how your singing has improved alongside the ukelele
Ainhara Cecilia Aita Arrascue I’m sure her singing improved with the practice as well as her confidence. Pretty much everything gets a little better over time if you practice
You and Elise are like literal twins!
You sound nearly like her!
Both of your voices are beautiful and you guys are truly gifted!!!
I can’t wait to do this video when I hit a year!! Less than 6 months to go! Super inspiring to see your progress ☺️
Eric Lemmon that’s so cool what’s the name of your dads band I’d like to check it out:)
@@tyahmae8205 There is no band
I’m 65 yo and began learning ukulele during the Covid lockdowns mainly to keep me busy and hopefully the singing might help a lung condition I developed. I can absolutely connect with your journey. Thank you for posting your 1 year progress. I literally started learning (aged 66!) one week ago, my husband bought me my first uke. I'm at the sore finger stage right now so watching your video has spurred me on as learning all the cords etc is quite a challenge atm.

Im getting one soon and this was really inspiring to read! Thanks for sharing your story!
Lilxpotadoe awesome! You will really enjoy ukulele, it’s such a cute little instrument.
Have fun, and be creative!
@@tsunam1479 what are some good songs to start off with?
Lilxpotadoe good question! First learn these three chords:C, A minor, F, and for a bit of a challenge-G. The first song I learnt was Riptide, which it funny because it is kinda hard for beginners. The first song I think you should ,learn is... I can’t think of anything! A good thing to do is to choose your own song then look up ‘*your chosen song* ukulele chords’, then press the link to ukulele tab. It really cool because it shows the lyrics and the chords in one. If you don’t know the chords used in your song, look them up on RUclips.
Hope this helped!

Great Job
ALOHA!
My wife got me one for Christmas as well. We both want to get into playing instruments, but I think I'm not coordinated enough...
I've just got my ukulele yesterday! I'm still practicing and learnt 2 songs already! It's not a lot but I'm really proud of myself!

i'm back again here from feb.

Ellie Trybocki The kala model Makala is pretty good, that’s what I use atm :)
I'm in the same situation rn,so tell me if you finally bought one plz😂😂
It's okay I think everyone can if you WANT and HAVE COURAGE to do it. ( #nothingisimpossible ) Actually the note (music 🎼🎵🎶) it doesn't matter if you can read or not cus for ukulele it's all different, but it's okay (you still can learn it) + there's a lot of ukulele tutorial that has the picture of the chord so if you keep practicing I know you will automatically can read music and can memorize all the chords, strum, etc. Idk if you understand cus my vocab is not great wkwkwk, working on it
Well...I just want to tell a story (short one) that I liked ukulele so much and watch all the tutorials it's super mesmerizing but then I've never have strings instruments and I can't even play guitar (my hands🤚🔥🔥,lol) but I still watch the ukulele tutorials anyway.
You don't need to learn how to read sheet music, just chord diagrams and tabulature. You can easily find tutorials for it on youtube.
this video is so helpful, because i started like 2 days ago and i’m tryna play riptide and i keep muting the strings and struggling with changing chords and it gets so fustrating so it’s nice to see that it’s gonna get better!

I have fat short fingers, wished I had yours, from what I can tell a bit long and skinny.
you: I HAVE FAT FINGERS
me: *struggles to fit my fingers with a soprano ukulele*
also me: DAMMIT THIS CONCERT UKULELE IS TOO BIG

Ananya Reddy tenor is bigger than concert
I have really small hands so the soprano is really good

Maybe she tends to listen to songs with those chords. Like, I notice that tons of my favorite songs use the chords C#m, F#m, G#, and A. She likes songs with C, Am, F, and G. Like... most people do. She does say at the end that she wants to learn more chords.
she just plays a lot in the key of c which most ukulele players do
i'm self taught and i learned to play part of a song in one day, a LOTT of the chords were muted but in one to a couple of days of hours of practice i finally learned to fluently play the song! practice makes perfect
also since i was practicing for long periods of time, no break, my fingers started to turn red and blistered lol. if ur gonna practice for a long time take 5 min intervals to prevent further pain in your fingers :)
