Why should we be taxed on 100% of the forgiven loan when Navient was sued for driving our school loans up through wrongful steering ...among other things???
It’s not as though those who are getting forgiveness aren’t paying taxes TOO! I think it’s ridiculous to complain about this if you didn’t complain about wealthy members of Congress actors, and corporations got PPP loans forgiven. If you didn’t complain when the auto industry, airline industry, mortgage industry and banking industry were bailed out. I don’t own a plane, bank or a house but my taxes went towards that. Damn any complaints about lower and middle class people FINALLY getting a break on something. Furthermore, you can STILL go to school and get your loans forgiven when your time comes if you want. Nobody’s stopping you. Stop hating!!
FACTS!! I still don't understand why there isn't a big protest specifically for student loan forgiveness. This Palestine stuff is not getting it done. I know that protests are supposed to be all encompassing but all people are really walking away from us Palestine matters when they are trying to say the establishment as is needs to reflect the wants and desires of the people and that includes student loans but they are using the Palestine issue as a banner and the Palestine issue is all people are walking away with. Very annoying.
Ooh, Queen Stacey coming through with the mindset GOLD! Yesssss. Thank you for including her wisdom. 💖 I think the hardest part for me right now is all the UNCERTAINTY around my student loan forgiveness (I have that old-school ICR/IBR loan that entered repayment in 1999... and they have my records wrong so I didn't clear the forgiveness mark in May as scheduled). My nervous system is all kinds of jacked up over the waiting game (and, yeah, spending hundreds per month on loans we had budgeted to be done with already). *sigh* Hanging in there though. Staying positive. Thanks for another great vid! 🏆
Oh my gosh, those student loans are a beast. Even making payments every month, the accruing interest that capitalizes makes it impossible to actually pay off. Debt is so stressful, and it also ruins relationships 💁
I borrowed $65k in the 1990s. I have paid $130k to date. I still owe $65k!!! These loans have been in repayment for more than 25 years. They were originally stafford loans, both subsidized and unsubsidized, that I consolidated during the pandemic, so they are now federally held. Will they be forgiven? Or where is the federal lawsuit at? Thank you fro the work you do.
Hi sir! new subscriber here, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the madness that is student loans. I just subscribed to your newsletter also. Your calm energy helps so much because student loans really do drive us crazy!
When I paid off the much smaller of my two federal student loans back in 2022, my credit score did go down for a bit after the final payoff was reported to the credit bureaus. The credit score did go up again after about half a year.
Thank goodness we’ve paid off our modest homes and pay cash cars. Student loans only debt I carry and I doubt they’ll be forgiven anytime soon way too many changes either IDR and save plan. If ever forgiven we’d use payments to compound savings and investing
How long does it take for the credit reporting agencies to take the student loan off of the credit report? My loan was forgiven but its still there several months later.
You can dispute the tradeline and provide proof that there’s a zero balance. They’ll take it off. However, like he said… it will likely drop your score… at least temporarily.
We need actual administration to wake up and continue the process. No matter which party you are, no vote for all the responsible to creates this mess.
I recently consolidated to the department of education with Aidvantage coming from AES. Loan was paid in full to AES 7/8/24 with repayment starting that same day with Aidvantage under the SAVE plan. Am I eligible to be on the New IBR(2014) with 20 year forgiveness vs SAVE with all its problems? Or would I be placed on old IBR with 25 year forgiveness timeline? I may be three payments short on the adjustment.
worst advice in the world. please if you are reading this and you are young, just learn financial responsibility before you fall behind your friends by 10-15 years because you didn’t build your credit responsibly (and easily)
I’ve never met someone who borrowed that much. I have met people who ended up owing that much after years of forbearances, being in default, capitalization, etc.
Nobody took out a million dollars in student loans. There’s an aggregate limit that you can’t go above. That’s NONSENSE. I really wish people would stop with the disinformation.
@@stanleytateThat’s because nobody did. Unless you’re going to medical school or law school or something like that, the limit is $165k. It may be more now (granted, I graduated in 2007) but I SERIOUSLY doubt it’s changed that much.
ruclips.net/video/9FYxGfKJ9iA/видео.htmlsi=4mppGF2I_x93vjMv I was watching this and this video freaks me out. Is it this bad? This seems so doomsday. Thoughts please 🙏🏼

Thanks...came to comments to share the same sentiment...but I see you got it covered.
Great points, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Absolutely true. It's not as if the forgiven student loan enriches you. All it does is remove a burden.
I'm that guy that's still in disbelief I've never felt this type of relief. I hope this is not a dream the balance still says 0

It took me about 6 months.
I was wondering about this too.

10k is like a 5 percent discount of what we’ve paid. Is that really a big deal?

Pay cash for things you don’t need a credit score. Get out of debt !

How does one take out nearly $1MILLION dollars in student loans?! Is she an astronaut?!

It was one man who was a dentist😮

@@lgee9027I need to see this. It may be over years of accrued interest. But not principal debt.
