This song was released in 1982. I was fifteen years old and growing-up in the San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles). If you told me then that White Wedding would be performed by 400 Hungarians in 2018, I don't think I would believe you. Especially since back then Hungary was still under communist rule and this kind of music was illegal.
Nah Daniel, that kind of music wasnt illegal, but wasn't promoted, and you couldn't buy records in government ran stores. Luckily, in the early/mid eighties the communist government eased the law, and the private sector came alive. People were allowed to open their own small businesses. That included many small record stores, whom were selling anything and evetything, that entered the country through private imports. And ever since the late 60s there was a fantastic local music scene in Hungary, with many a great bands releasing records and playing live accross the country. Due to the nature of the Hungarian language, unfortunately noone in the west could understand the words of the few english worded records they produced, so none of them could make it in western countries. But no, to the contrary of popular belief, people in most of those ex-communist countries had a life. The russian anti-western propaganda didn't work, luckiky!
In October, 1959, the Hungarians revolted against their communist government...among the first thing they did was to destroy the records of the AVH - the Hungarian secret police (the equivalent of the KGB) and kill the Hungarian secret police and the informers among them. The soviets under Khrushchev sent in troops & tanks to put down the revolt...it was the West's first look at the (up until then, secret) AK...
I guarantee these people will be healthier for months because of this uplifting stimulus. Brilliant. Tribal and we are really just a Bee hive guys so this is what a real society does together. Second most pure and worthwhile thing the species does, behind motherhood.

CityRocks was founded by a group of friends and musicians in Szeged, Hungary, 2017. The initiative considers its mission to raise the banner of live music and rock creating monumental concerts by hundreds of musicians. The connecting force and energy that is felt running during these events also helped CityRocks build an ever-growing community of professional musicians, semi-pros, and beginners with an age range from 8 to 72, people who in some cases never had their chance to play in front of an audience. Inspired by the pioneering performance of the Italian Rockin1000, organizing the first rock flashmob (SzegedRocks 2018) in Hungary was soon set in motion, which, after a year of preparation, attracted a 400 strong crowd of Hungarian and foreign musicians. The videos shot of the gigantic gig went viral reaching a mass audience in their millions worldwide. CityRocks is also responsible for launching a Summer Rock ‘Boot Camp’ in June, 2019, the highlight of which was when 50 musicians gave a show on a moving truck (RockTruck) crisscrossing the streets of Szeged while jamming out Hungarian and international classic rock hits for hours on end. In September, 2019 the flashmob was further developed into a second event moved to yet another town and now labelled as KecskemétRocks. More than 500 participants from all over Europe-including Finland, Austria, Germany, and various countries in the Carpathian Basin-arrived to Kecskemét, Hungary to give a full-blown concert of 12 rock covers in front of a massive and dedicated audience.
