Not stupid at all. The gap was pretty generous. I didn't measure, but looked close to .020". I tightened up the air gap to .008". Quite possible it wasn't getting good current to run the Auto tune. I did run it again after re-gapping the coil and it still sounds a little lean at idle, maybe that's how they are set up. I couldn't tell any difference from the last two runs. It "seems" to be OK for now. Time will tell. Thank you for an "outside the box" idea.
@@richardflagg3084 yes sir anytime. You may also check the metering lever height, only heard of it being low making them lean on early autotune but nothing would surprise me.
It still dont sound right to me...like its too lean...but theres no screws to turn..so hopefully the computer is at least as smart as us old "wrenchers" if not smarter...and fixs the problem before the saw gets roached... but Great vid Rich! Keep the GREAT content coming! Thanks
Had one doing the same thing the other day. This video was very informational and helpful. You are a great technician and I’m thankful for your content.
Pretty much had the same types of issues with my 81 Ford pickup and it’s electronic carburetor. That’s about where we are in the saw smog technology 🤦🏻♂️
Rich very nice and very detailed.❤❤❤ Originally I thought fuel starvation, but the off idle bog gave it away, I was thinking PTO bearing 😊😊😊 This seems to be a major design flaw in the MK3, 😡😡😡 since this is your 2nd video on these saws. Keep up the good and honest work. 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍
Great video Rich. This definitely falls under the Umm?...Uhh?..category of repairs. Please let us know how it resolves with a follow up. Thanks for the video.
Having just bought one of these, I'm interested to hear whatever else you find here. I've had a couple bogging issues with mine but they seemed to be typical first-few-tanks issues, etc. On that carb boot, I noticed the inner half of the gasket on the carb interface was dry, but the outer half was wet. If you had a geometry problem, I expect you'd see asymmetrical patterns on the face of the boot itself, but the wetness and clamping face looked pretty symmetrical. And the inner diameter on the carb splitter itself looks like it should ensure boot geometry up against the flanges in the case, which would then ensure sealing..? idfk. I wouldn't mind seeing a pressure-rig on that thing while the saw's on a shake table running about 3-9kHz. Maybe there's a leak but only when it's shaking?
Being a person that is dealing with a problem 562XP myself, I am not convinced that the electronics are the issue. I think there must be some sort of design flaw or other quality issue in the saw that the electronics mask. That is my personal opinion and I could be completely wrong. I am very unhappy with my 562XP experience thus far. Been in the shop too many times and Husqvarna WILL NOT respond to me when I reach out directly.
Check the gap in between the coil and flywheel. Use an .008" feeler gauge to get a tighter gap. I never narrowed it down to one thing as I was frustrated and didn't do one thing at a time. On the bright side it's still going strong. Just talked to him last week.
I heard a rumor that there would be some softare update to help in some performance issues for this 540 xp mark3 series. May I ask that do you see when the last software version was released and is there anything changelog regarding performance issues?
Odd how they can make a battery saw that wont miss a lick but have gremlins in the gas stuff??? Maybe a little nudge from the powers above?? Maybe i am just drinking the wrong koolaid...
As stupid as this sounds, check the coil gap. Specifically on a mk3 540🙄

This is where the internet absolutely shines. The sharing of information from this channel and its followers make it one of my favorites.....
@@litewatefitr Thank you!
Another good reason why older models prices are just climbing and climbing👍

I appreciate your honest videos Richard! I wish there were more like you in the world. Keep up the awesome work and content please.
This lets me know what ive known ill stick to my reg carb and a screw driver
Richard, Great video. You are a wealth of knowledge.
Very frustrating. I've got a long history with the 540's. Hopefully this is an outside case. I fear not.
I loved how this saw felt in the hand, but this video makes my happy to have my 193T and 355T.

Nearly 3 hrs for a questionable outcome. Crazy stuff.
You looked suicidal bye the end 😂😂😂😂
You are always entertaining, like I would like to have a beer with you. Good luck with "the possessed".
I would have figured that out way sooner. When I hear a bog like that I always pressure vac test. No need to look at a computer for 30 minutes.

Fun show, as always. Get a new camera? Seems clearer than ever.
Loud little bugger for stock! Great stuff as always, thanks for sharing!
Husqvarna was VERY good to me when i needed customer support
Loose fittings on carb. Bad ground? Glad you showed it.
These solenoid carb issues are frustating to chase.

I know exactly what the problem is, you don’t have the Husqvarna microphone headset like the service guy on the diagnostics tool box🤷🏻♂️.
🤣🤣🤣
Extremely frustrating😡 crap like that will likely drive people who aren't passionate about 2t engines towards battery electric.
Once again and I repeat. No damn reason for a computer chip on a frigging chainsaw. 😊😊
Better get rid of your coil packs then...
Bs. There’s a more complex computer and electronics on 500i’s and they never break.
@@em4703 mostly.
Man I am going to avoid the newer technology chipped saw 4 sure, everything manual is better imo
Rarely have issues with the 201"s. They are the class of the field.
Don't let the auto tune worry you, I've been very happy with all of mine
That chain is extremely loose.. It bogs me so much to see somebody running loose chain...
The chain tensioner on these saws and the 540i battery saws are junk. Ask anyone who owns one. I tensioned it twice.
@@richardflagg3084 Thanks Richard! Is there anything you can do about the tensioner, beef it up somehow maybe?

My 562XP is in the shop again with gremlins. I am not convinced that saw or mine are fixed either.
I got a dewalt 3000w motor equivalent to 50cc 2 15ah 54v batteries I only cut fire wood upto 500mm thick I would never have gas saw ever again
Hi Richard! Did you found out more? Mine is doing the exact same thing. Around 10h on it.

Hi Richard, what's the best way to get in touch with you?
Same control module and they just threw a mark 3 on it 😂
Had same problem with mine after less than 5 hours and after carb exchange is running flow less

Richard, what’s the height and width of your workbench? It looks to be the a good setup you have
I'm 6"1". I built this table 38" tall so I don't have to slouch over. It's 8' long.
@@richardflagg3084 nice same height as me, you look much taller in the videos. Whats the width of the table?
same problems with mine at 5 hours doing intake boot and carb next
ooofff
Why don't you just replace that gromit? It's obviously broken...
Hey how can i get a machine file handle from you?
How's your 070 going?
Суперова пила!!!!
