America (My Country, 'Tis of Thee) is an American patriotic song, the lyrics of which were written by Samuel Francis Smith. The song served as one of the de facto national anthems of the United States (along with songs like "Hail, Columbia") before the adoption of "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the official U.S. national anthem in 1931. The melody used is the same as that of one of the de facto national anthems of the United Kingdom, "God Save the Queen".

Praise the Lord , Praise our God , Trust in our Lord. Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen ❤️🔥🙏🏻✝️
I remember singing this song in 4th grade, the whole class…
This could pair really good with a creepy/unsettling aesthetic
This is my favorite version. Not the gaytriot high pitched white girl version. This is beautiful.
I learned this in 4th Grade and I still remember every single lyric
We decided to troll the British by copying their anthem's tune
It needed to be liberated.
Whoa 😮 what year was this recorded
14 bc
1931
All of them
January 24 1952 @ourserieswillneverdie
Sounds 1940 - 1943 ish
Where did you find this?
I am wondering when the recording dates from. '30s, '40s? I like the interpretation.
Seems like Brittania married Sammy boy and thus their little girl AMERICANA sang this in high school while having cheeseburger
Meanwhile Britannia sees the sun for the first time in 100 years and evaporates
what version of the song is this?
Not sure, but its from the archive.org
What’s the melody in the first 6 seconds
“Glory to Hong Kong”
Looks like to much the German Empire Anthem "Heil dir im Siegerkranz"
And god save the king
It’s in god we trust not in rainbows we trust 🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸
May Orthodoxy come to America ☦️🙏❤️🇺🇸
tis for thee oceania
Hahahaha😂😂😂😂😂😂
America’s former national anthem was a copy of the British national anthem!
This is sung exactly like how they sing *God save the Queen* in Britain 🇬🇧
Probably thy guy was immigrant from the UK and being familiar with this anthem wrote that…
No don’t think so because it said “ my native country “ but yeah it’s really similar to the British anthem!
@@lilyunggeeskis what “native country” today’s Americans are not even Americans! They are not natives there!
They native people of those lands had no particular name for this land.
Spanish went there and ☠️☠️☠️
After that it began the huge migration wave to the states.
Brits created the first states at the east coast known as the original 13 States and the area is still known as New Anglia 🏴
Then people from all around the world migrated to the States. Irish, Scots, Germans, French, Italians, Hellenes, Spanish, Portuguese, Scandinavians, Slavs… from Asia and Africa too creating a mix of nations!
American is not ONE nation, it’s a mix of nations. America is a country that many nations live in.
The natives there are tribes like the Cherokee tribe, the Navajo tribe… etc
Many few people today can claim that they are natives there!
Even the name America derived from the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci…
You know the British took it from the french right
The original was grande dieu save le roi
Well I mean, let us not forget this particular melody has many many versions including "God save the tsar" "Heil dir im Siegerkranz (Hail to Thee in the Victor's Crown)" and the original "grande dieu save le roi"; the song was also officially used as the anthem of Sweden, iceland, russia, your own Greece, and hawaii
@@Kolious_Thrace What the fuck is your point in saying all that? of course america wasn't originally populated by its current population no one said other wise. Myrian meant that it wasn't an immigrant that wrote it and it was rather someone born it America. maybe take the gyros outta your ears and the rest of your holes for once
