2017 Sienna. Radio restarting on rough bumps. Also rear climate control fans momentarily off and on. Thanks for this post and comments. I decided to do a general inspection. What I discovered was.. the battery hold down bracket had broken at the front attachment point, I only noticed it because of evidence of arcing on the positive battery terminal. When going over bumps the bracket was bouncing over and grounding out. Definetly saved the sienna maybe saved my house from being Tesla ized.
I had the same issue with my 2015 Sienna, but I think that I fixed it! I went into the Bluetooth settings and removed all phones. Then I went into the general settings and deleted all personal data. No more reboots! I reconnected my phone and so far so good.
So I really believe that Toyota is actually doing this after so many thousands of miles to get more money out of the people who buy the toyotas.. the same thing is happening with LG refrigerators
Same problem right now with 2016 Sienna. Software upgrade didn't fix it. I have had the same Samsung phone since I've owned the van, and this is a recent issue (less than a month). It will go through that loop for 20 minutes sometimes. Won't do it at the dealer, Toyota is less than helpful. So, I have to take a day of vacation to sit at a dealer with my phone and the van for them to test it, so they can probably still not fix it. Funny, never had any of these issues with my Hyundai. Will never own another Toyota. This new, expensive van is costing me more time and frustration than it is worth.
Had to have the whole unit replaced under warranty. Took me 3 trips to the dealer for them to finally replace. They also tried the software update and it didn't work
silentkiller626 no, not at the time when it happened but there's something in the paperwork, the electrical coverage on given circuits has kind of an extended coverage.
This video would have been better if the problem and the fix were explained. I seriously can't make heads or tail out of it and has not brought any solutions to the existing problem.
No central display. Update doesn’t work. Zero display or audio. Fuses good, battery good, reset methods (all of them) didn’t work. Disconnecting phones from car…. Slapping my neighbors cat…. NOTHING works. Dealer laughed and said “oh, that sounds like about $3,000”
I have the same issue with my 2015 sienna. Just took it to the dealer today and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with the radio, couldn’t duplicate the problem.
Rey Cruz I have the same problem as well With my 17’ sienna. Today displayed incorrect time and when attempting to use the Mac it would shut off but turn back on once I pushed the home button. After turning the van off then restarting it was corrected. I have multiple videos as these. Hopefully they can correct the problem
@reycruz I took mine in. Showed the videos because I had multiple. They said the problem is that I have iPhone and so when iPhone does an update the Toyota shop has to update the system. They updated and so far no problems
I have the problem too, but my car is past the warranty time so are we able to fix it ourselves? Just went to the Toyota and they charge me ninety eight dollars just for inspection so I left.
How did you fix this problem. My sienna just started doing this. The only problem is it won’t come back to the radio screen it’s stuck on the toyota logo/disclaimer
Oo nice unfortunately my warranty is over I only have 50k miles and the dealer told me I had to buy a new radio unit. Luckily they found me one refurbished for 700. If not a brand new one was going to cost me 3,200.
Ours did it on both my wife's iphone and my Samsung phone. Had to have the whole unit replaced under warranty. Took me 3 trips to the dealer for them to finally replace
I had to have my radio replaced as the software updates were not working. If the dealer can't do that, try David's solution below by removing all phones and contact data from the radio.
Thank you! This solution worked for our 2017 Toyota Sienna LE.

I have a 2015 Sienna that had the same issue but the dealership helped me out and did a free replacement.
fordwindsor351 what is the place is it in Calgary ?
Abel Seifu no, a dealership in white River junction Vermont.
Was your van under warranty?
silentkiller626 no, not at the time when it happened but there's something in the paperwork, the electrical coverage on given circuits has kind of an extended coverage.
This trick is very useful and it helped me so much and thank you for who ever did this vid
What trick?
Wtf are you talking about. How did it just start working the screen??

I'm not sure. I was still under warranty and the dealer finally replaced the radio since multiple visits of upgrading software didn't do anything
Dealer it's always whip off
So I'm having a problem when I get inside the van and I get halfway down the road the radio comes on at high volume

Hi how can get help please?
So frustrating. I have to hold the power button to reset the radio/studio often, someone's every 10 minutes!
Can you tell me how can fix this issue in my car
I have the same problem not sure what to do to fix it.
If it's still under warranty get the whole radio replaced
Does this when my wife's iPhone is connected to it. I have Samsung and it has never reset on me when my phone is hooked up. Wierd.
Ours did it on both my wife's iphone and my Samsung phone. Had to have the whole unit replaced under warranty. Took me 3 trips to the dealer for them to finally replace
My radio has been replaced 4 times and I still have this problem. They just keep telling me they don't know what is wrong.
Is this an hardware problem or software?
Any 1
It was a hardware problem. They were unable to update the software. Had to get a new radio installed
If you have USB plugged into system, plug out and check it. My USB was broken and it was not letting the system boot up.
i have the same problem as i fix? thanks
but i have just the first screen ....
I had to have the whole radio replaced. Have you tried to see if the dealer can update the software?
Sung Jin yes I see in website Toyota with model radio and niv car they told me no update available for you !!!
I have the same problem, Sienna 2015
Any solution please. Need help!!!!

Tengo el mismo problema como lo puedo solucionar
i had same issue like 3x a month but it restart immediately
Hold the power button to soft reset
I have the same problem. As I Fix? Please!
If a software update at the dealer does not work, they'll need to replace the radio.
If you have USB plugged into system, plug out and check it. My USB was broken and it was not letting the system boot up.
Motherboard problems in the system take it radio shop to have it fix
