      I won't sign up to a digital id because of all the data breaches. It's bad enough having to verify a phone SIM card and having that leaked.

    Just a policy that can never be enforced, a total waste of money.

    • @RecognizingInjustice
      @RecognizingInjustice 51 минуту назад

      They will impose digital ID to enforce it, then eventually it will be linked to social credit system, and then tied to all necessities of life.

    Kids shouldn't be on social media 😂
    And your age verification gimmick is for a digital ID everyone knows it

      Kids SHOULD have access to social media. It is the public square, with access to enormous information, outside of govt and mainstream propoganda. Parents should be responsible for monitoring or ensuring they are mature enough.

      School: alright kids, today we will be watching a video on how photosynthesis works.
      Government: Erm, actually 🤓☝ that's illegal.

    How is this even possible? How can you police something like this? It's not the government's job to be the PARENT.

    As someone who was allowed on social media before becoming old enough, I can easily say this couldn’t come soon enough.
    From my experience, the internet is to volatile and too dangerous for fragile naive young young minds.

      I believe social media when it comes to younger ages, should be restricted. However, when it comes to the state enforcing such a ban, do not think for one moment that it's doing it for the right reasons either. There's usually a reason why they're doing such things.

    Parents should have access to the tools and education to help them manage their child's safety online.
    Children should have access to the tools and education to help them stay safe, to make responsible choices, even when supervision is difficult.
    To demand that all Australians, regardless of age, link their IDs with their online presence is a nanny state overreach. We recognise and exercise certain rights in our electoral process and daily lives. The right to privacy. The right to anonymity. The right to freely engage in, without government gatekeeping, the exchange of information and ideas without fear of reprisal from on high if the government doesn't like what you have to say.
    Journalists, whistleblowers and vocal dissenters beware!

      Children do have access right now? Look what's happening.

  • @RecognizingInjustice

    This is not about protecting children but rather controlling free access to information, and in a way that will require the imposition of a digital ID system (at first to verify age) that can then be linked to a social credit score model linked to basic needs of life. ( As one highly influential group has been caught on recording calling for action in regard to youths and social media because the information is causing the youth to not support them )

    And how is it going to be monitoring it . Kids these days just put in different age to get on sites, like FB etc

  • @petersmith9785
    @petersmith9785 2 часа назад +4

    The age should really be 18 years and over just like gambling drinking and smoking. Children should have a normal dumb phone to use to contact parents and etc during their teenage years for calls and texts only!!

    I completely agreee with this. As someone who got Facebook at age 13 the damages it’s done to me and the bullying that occurs online can do so much damage that people aren’t aware off.

      I'm 61yo & I tried Facebook for a few months & found it was full of bullies & a - holes, so I just got off it. You just have to use your common sense & get off something that is making you unhappy, why stop everyone.

    It's not right. TikTok and other social networks mean a lot to children. Modern kids won't be able to do without them. There's no need to ban anything; leave this to the parents.

    • @gacksonmoose1821
      @gacksonmoose1821 36 минут назад

      They have left it to the parents, it's been horrible, kids addicted, suicidal, depressed, emotionally inept. It means a lot to the kids the same way a person is addicted to a smoke.

    Correct. Kids should not be on social media. The only people who dont want this, dont have children. Look how much better schooling is going since they have taken the mobile phone from classes. Its a no brainer.
