This young man just signed a four-year contract extension for 64 million and could reach 80 million with incentives. Congratulations, Jordan, you are very deserving of this extension. As an Eagles fan, I hope you spend your entire career in Philly!
Watch Jordan mailata today man he was a beast he got real good against the falcons check out the highlights…he’s an expectation and motivation I have to say 👍👍👍👍
If he played in our NRL comp, the most he could probably earn is $1 mill a year, realistically he’d probably be on more like 500k p/a, and that’s in AUD
Today is the day, 9/11/21, when Jordan has signed a long term deal to become the 7th highest paid LT in the NFL. What an incredible journey. We are incredibly proud to have you as an Eagle. ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Heartless Tank, Same I am a skins fan and when he said that it was the first team he looked at I was like "Please" funny because I play rugby my self but live in Texas for uni so wonder how this is going to affect the conversation!
Yesterday this guy played in SuperBowl LVII on an O-line that's considered one of the best (or in my opinion the best) in football, while he's ranked one of the top tackles in the NFL. Absolutely an amazing journey. Though I'm a Chiefs fan, I hope you may flourish for years to come, Jordan. All the best.
The fact he was able to learn the technique for O tackle at the highest level gave him the advantage of not having any bad habits built. What a journey he’s been through.
Just watched this again after Jordan's incredible 2020 first starting season of football, he's going to be one of the best left tackles in the league mark my words.
Who is here after his extension? I feel so proud of this young man. He is an example to all young people that with hard work and effort you can reach your goals. With no football knowledge and just a dream he competed and beat out a more experienced player. I don't even know him but when I heard of his extension I felt so happy and proud. Mailata you gave me the desire to keep on pushing and to not give up on my dreams and goals. Go Eagles!
Can't lie, I teared up a bit at him finding out he's an Eagle. He's such a genuinely nice person and im SO happy he's an eagle. Time to fly mr Mailata. Buying you're Jersey now
He’s proved many wrong and earned the respect he deserves. Shocked the world! From rugby league to NFL, wow! Jordan a stud at LT, I love this guy work ethic and positive energy and passion.
As an Eagles fan I'm so glad we got him. He's such a stud and deserves every penny of that contract he just signed. A class act all around and super talented individual. Excited to watch him play!
I just heard Jordan Mailata sing " WHITE XMAS," with other Eagles on his team, &, at less than a month of 88 years old, I lost count, years ago, of how many I have heard sing that song, but, NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM, COULD EVEN BEGIN TO SING IT AS GOOD AS JORDAN MAILATA❤😊
Isa..... Blessings from FIJI... You have made us all Pacific Islanders proud, especially SAMOA... You are such an inspiration. Thank you for creating that opportunity for Pacific Islanders.
Anybody who wants it so badly that he is moved to tears at getting the opportunity has a heart even bigger - and healthier - than the rest of his 6-foot-8 body.
As a Eagles fan, I hope they use him as a blocking TE since Celek left. He reminds me of Terron Armstead. He’s tall, long limbed and athletic. I wish Jordan all the best.
ok i'm italian and ive started to watch american football this year, picked eagles as team to support (not because of the superbowl win, of wich i was completely unaware of, but because of the jersey color...yeah i know how dumb is that but hey oh), stumbled upon this video while trying to figure out how draft works and now i cant stop crying! hope Jordan will have a great career in the nfl
Honestly American football is one of the most intricate and complex games out there. Even growing up constantly watching the sport there are still moments where coaches and players don't know the rules. The learning curve is absolutely astounding.
A dream that came true. Jordan you deserve everything. I watched the NFL pathway program for quite a few years and there’s been some very talented players, the majority only make at best the practice squad. Most coaches can’t imagine anyone getting a roster spot from outside the college set up. Well, I played rugby from 9 to 29, in England and in France, in the 1980’s & 90’s. I began playing Football in 1984, i was scouted at the gym i trained at. I played 12 years D1 European leagues. On Offense (guard)… i was 6ft5 and 290 lbs, my twin played guard at 6ft4 and 285lbs and mike my younger brother played Defensive End at 6ft5 and 260lbs. I’m not boasting but i could bench 220lbs 24 reps and i had a 40 yards time of 4.9 with no helmet and shoulder pads, but full pads on legs. Playing in Europe there were German and UK players who were great athletes. Thirty years later. . . The NFL pathway is revealing true talent. There was a receiver Anthony Dablé 6ft5 220 lbs receiver 36 TD’s in 2 seasons in the D1 German league. The best WR in Europe, he was on the practice squad at the Atlanta Falcons… he was never given a decent chance. The Philadelphia Eagles use their most important equipment to scout talent it’s called EYES. SUPERBOWL All pro, not bad for a 7 round draft
Get ready to Spread your Wings as an Eagle Brother..do us Proud..Absolutely Awesome got a tear for you..so happy your hard work paid off ..Best wishes from a fellow Australian from Sydney. ..👍
He wasn't a rugby star, he never played in a top flight game I don't think, I'm pretty sure he just played for the U20 team. Still an absolute beast tho!
Yeah, he's the NRL equivalent of a good (but not great) college football player - but one who was a physical freak. In fact, physically I think the NFL suits him much more than Rugby League, which has more endurance required. The interesting thing is where he might have success - he could be a great o.tackle with his lateral movement, could play as an in-line tight end (where I suspect he might get some situation-specific looks over the first couple of years), or really anywhere on the defensive line - has speed for the edge, size to be the nose and explosive athleticism to compete inside as a 3-tech, if he really worked at it. Sounds as though defense isn't going to be a consideration, though.
Who gives a rats ass where or what level he played in Rugby. He's got the body and size to play tackle in the nfl. He was drafted into the nfl...that alone says something about his chances. He can't play tight end because running with the ball in Rugby and getting hit is like day and night if he was to trying to catch and run with the ball in the nfl. There's a reason why your taught to "keep your head on a swivel".
Wow couldn't be so proud of his achievements. Rejected by Rugby League here in Australia because of his size and look where he is now. Well done uso 👏👏👏💖🇼🇸🇼🇸
Glad he's an Eagle. Doug will give you a shot. He turned Corey Clement (undrafted) into a Philly legend, he turned a journeyman QB into a Superbowl MVP, and he'll turn Jordan Mialata into whatever he wants to be.
As a Aussie. Well done Mate. Keep up the Hard work. You’ve earned it. To make those teams use a meeting to meet you without showing playing the game says a lot about what they see in you. Congratulations. 🇦🇺 🇦🇺
Today is December 29th 2020. He had a lot of starts this season due to injuries and has played very well. His development has been outstanding. Still a lot to work one, but overall, I feel he has been one of the Eagles better O'Line men this year. Well done Jordan. Champion effort.
He only ever played in the under 20 NRL competition. Never got his debut at the highest level. Would have been the biggest human to do so, what could have been haha. But his body is well and truly more suited for NFL.
Wow, touching story! Thanks to all other other rival teams wishing our new talent the best. Great individual stories are rare but this is going to be awesome watching him grow. Fly Eagles fly!!!!
2021 is his year to stamp his mark as a veteran. 3 years later and he is now a beast breaking the best DEs, MLBs, and DTs in the NFL. He broke TJ Watts in half. He is just getting started.
I'm sure all the NFL teams will have an eye out for this guy and how well he will progress in the first year and if he can really understand the nuances of the game well enough to be effective and if he does "get it" then the big money will come! GOOD LUCK MAN! the Eagles have one of the best defensive lines out there now this could be a very good test for him now and all eyes are on him.
Even if he does not become something big, to never play football and watch it very rarely he will go down as a star. Very proud of where he has gotten in his life.
I cried with him... well done champion. Go hard, work hard, play hard and you'll succeed... At the Eagles you'll learn from some of the best. Best of luck to him 😊
We need a follow-up asap! Cuz Jordan’s path to signing a huge contract last week has been remarkable but most people outside of Philly have forgotten about his story
Anything is possible if you know your ‘why’ even his mentality coach was preaching it in the video, you too can do what ever it is you desire, just need to block the nay sayers and believe in the process and only you can write your life storyline.... ‘you can’t hire someone to do your push ups...’ - Jim Rohn
Garrett Arner completely agree, im born and raised in Auckland New Zealand now living in Brisbane Australia, this guy is not telling you Americans the truth, he NEVER played rugby league at the top senior level, he only played under 20s meaning players from the age of 18 to 20, I'll tell you now, a lot of players would roll his ass!! A lot of big physical players in the top senior level that he has never played, for him to say that he has played at the highest rugby league level is BS
Malo lava Jordan Mailata on your successful journey into the NFL. Keep working hard and you will continue to de great things. Never forget your roots and always stay humble. God bless.
they said...."potential is the only talent that hasn't been realized, only time will tell how Jordan Mailata story will end but one thing is for curtain his journey is forever be remembered as a monumental in pioneering a new international NFL". # Awesome
no matter where u from.. if u got it u got it..what a story… god bless u uso!! you’ve got a new Tongan fan here ❤️❤️🇹🇴🇼🇸🇹🇴🇼🇸🇹🇴🇼🇸 #tokouso #oneluv #JordanMailata #FreakOfNature
the hype around this man is higher than some of the first round picks. Fly eagles fly! edit: He wants to be a left tackle. Well guess what? We got a nasty HOF left tackle to learn from!
Mate..... your family must be so proud of you..... live your dreams champ, don’t ever give up, in footy, in life.... we are following your journey from Oz Jordan, do it for yourself, so proud of your commitment man👌😎
And years later, he's one of my favorite eagles of all time. I pray he goes down the path of other veterans like Jason. Brandon, Fletch, and Lane (Stay with philly). He was a diamond in the rough and we're lucky to have him.
When our coaches, trainers, and teammates get done with Mailata he's gonna be a beast. He's gonna learn from some of the best in the league, workout with some of the best.
I know an Australian, and the impression I got was they put their hearts into the sports they love and participate in. I wish Jordan the best! I'm sure he'll give it all he's got!
This man's story is amazing he's just one of those guys that u look at and ur like "damn man I wish this man becomes a hall of famer" like this the stuff I'm thinking of
I went to his high school when i was in 7th grade saw his rugby match he was absolutely unstoppable. I remember our school crowd shouting “pass to jordan” and chanting his name
Best of luck Jordan...Always Strive to be the best you can be...Dont let the bright lights distract you..live this for all the young island boys who could only dream of where you are...God bless you on your journey.
Awesome vid. He might be an eagle now but he'll always be our uso 🇼🇸don't forget that Samoan born kids have 56 times more of a chance to make the NFL than any other child in America.
Good luck young man. please note his background is in rugby LEAGUE. There are two rugby codes. Rugby LEAGUE is Jordan's background. The other thing is that the footage shows him at junior level. He's a physical freak to be sure but at the NRL level (National Rugby League) which he never played, he wouldn't have the liberties seen in his highlight reel. forward in RL makes 30-50 tackles per MATCH plus runs the ball around 20-30 times. This makes rugby LEAGUE special and the athletes who succeed are incredible.

Went to high school with this guy... absolute monster. Good on ya bro! All the best.

Congrats Jordan Wish you all the success brother. love from Western Sydney
Just made his first start
Just watched this again after Jordan's incredible 2020 first starting season of football, he's going to be one of the best left tackles in the league mark my words.
This genuinely agreed well so far lol
Try watching it now….with sb around the corner
That’s my Left Tackle!!! Let’s go Jordan!!! I had a feeling when we drafted him that he could be something special. Keep working hard brother!
2021. Jordan is the starting Left tackle and just got a contract extension for 64 million. So freaking happy for him.
In Australia he would make $600,000 USD at most. Before taxes
Who is here after his extension? I feel so proud of this young man. He is an example to all young people that with hard work and effort you can reach your goals. Time to fly mr Mailata. Buying you're Jersey now

i would like this but its a nice round number so....
So far this has turned out to be a great great pick. Way to go Eagles. This coming from a 49er fan.
As a cowboys fan I hate to see him go to the eagles but I wish all the luck in the world on this young man
Bout to beat out our round 1 pick for starting LT this year. A great story is unfolding
As a Eagles fan, I hope they use him as a blocking TE since Celek left. He reminds me of Terron Armstead. He’s tall, long limbed and athletic. I wish Jordan all the best.
I want to see him run the ball in a goal line stand.
I think they drafted him as an Offensive Tackle
KingMattXL they did but tbh they can go tight bunch and use him as a blocker
Richard Rodgers is Celek’s replacement
Chad Lange But can Richard block like Celek?

Delai Lama way bigger bro😂
I love seeing these guys get super emotional and humble this late in the draft. These are the guys that I want to succeed 200%.

Go Jordan. We will be cheering from Oz. 👍🇦🇺
You can learn the game but you can’t teach 6’8 with that athleticism. Could be a good risk for the Eagles
Plus, they know what they were getting in to. He wasn't going to start in his first year, but he was going to be a work in progress
Aqrez well he still has zero experience so I think saying it a risk is fair lol. In terms of the modern NFL draft this is a first

k lol Two of the best tackles in the league, might I add
Trying To Pick A Good Username yeah not two of the best the Best Left Tackle and best Right Tackle
Who was also drafted in the 7th round I think
Nathan Slonaker Believe it or not JP actually went undrafted as a TE
Eagles fans are so delusional.. there is no hype around this guy. Especially not more than a 1st round pick..
Mate..... your family must be so proud of you..... live your dreams champ, don’t ever give up, in footy, in life.... we are following your journey from Oz Jordan, do it for yourself, so proud of your commitment man👌😎

Awesome vid. He might be an eagle now but he'll always be our uso 🇼🇸don't forget that Samoan born kids have 56 times more of a chance to make the NFL than any other child in America.
What about us black American folk?
Dawson Garret blacks as well but it’s proven that polys have a better chance
@@gardetto265 your white😂😂
Thats just funny. If thats the case.. how come the NFL does not have 56 times more samoans? That number doesnt add up.
@@FingerStink420 old comment from you but there is less than 1 million Samoans worldwide. It’s a ratio
Great story . I’m really proud of you man and I’m thrilled you’re a Philadelphia eagle. Fly eagles fly
Goodluck to him
I came back to this video after the Eagles vs. Saints game this season and oh my god what a steal for this team

The most feared contestant on the pitch is the humble dinner servant with a big warm smile that welcomed you with up most respect
About to be the eagles starting LT, incredible
He's not just a huge figure but possibly the most grateful guy ever to play NFL, Eagles won't be disappointed.
I’d love to see this man play RB/FB or DL.
