If a defendant simply follows her rules for probation they will be : employed, off drugs, a better parent, and a little more humbled due to required community service...at the LEAST!
In some cases they also will have completed a trade school or got their diploma, worked with DHS/CPS to close their case successfully, gotten housing, counseling for anger management, etc...
She is really trying to re-parent them and set them on the course that their parents should have. By far the most thorough judge. Love Judge Boyd. Texas don't play. 😂

Addiction doesn't just stop because you got arrested and some people are unemployable without a GED and then the ones with kids and no contact orders... I wonder what the completion rate is for getting off probation in the allotted time frame in her court! Not to make ANY excuses for criminals, but if they were capable of doing all that, at the time of sentencing, wouldn't they be? ...or maybe I just needed rehab and therapy first 😂

My son is law’s parents were married, he had such a dysfunctional childhood that at the age of 14 he took himself to our DHS (the Australian equivalent of CPS). They were not even feeding him but his mother had bought herself a BMW while claiming they were poor). My child grew up with his parents not married, had love, affection, birthday parties, sleepovers, holidays, all the things my son in law never got. No trouble with the law with my child, but there was with my son in law. Dysfunctional families exist whether married or not!!!

When they do, they have a strong history of not making good decisions for themselves and the ppl (especially their kids) around them. Stone cold on point honest and to the point Judge Boyd. I do think it's tough love. She has the best interest in tough situations.

Judge Boyd is exemplary. Besides being fair and giving most the benefit of the doubt, she gives REAL LIFE advice from her many years on the bench. Texas is lucky to have her......

Dear Judge Boyd, forgive me if this is inappropriate but I simply ADORE YOU! I respect you, hold you in high regard and LOVE your flowers and cute purses! I don’t know if you’ll ever see this message but I want to THANK YOU for all the hard work and choices you make every day! God Bless you!

Judge, she had almost two whole months of employment in her adult life before she got fired! Plus, she finished her sophmore year of high school! Clearly, this is an upstanding citizen with a lot of job opportunities to be missed out on if she's incarcerated 😂

The judge is good in the main, she is a bit of a drama queen.
Best way to avoid going before her is to keep your nose clean.

My parents did a lot of good raising me, some not so good. They weren't perfect. What they DID do right tho was teach me to make rational decisions. There was a TON of drugs around when I was growing up, I smoked a little weed but promised myself not to do any chemicals. They were there, readily available, even from buddies doing them right in front of me, I said nope.
You can chalk up the meth and drug issues facing america (and canada) 100% due to crappy parents. No ifs ands or buts about it.

I'd say its time this young woman gets her life straghtened out. She has everything going for her, if she'll get the junk out of her life. The court's working FOR her. Now it's up to her. 21 years old, and time to grow up. She has youth, looks, a 4 year old daughter (one of the most Blessed gifts one can have) a mother who has a prominent position ..... There's still a life ahead, if she'll only make an effort. What a waste thus far!

I appreciate the way this judge empathises with the defendants, but on the other hand, brooks no guff. Class all the way with this lady.

Might as well be Michael Myers, since being around him is killing her. She's going to lose her cosmetology license because of her conviction. All before 21.

Judge Boyd is bloody brilliant, compassionate, honest and fierce! Much respect and admiration for how she handles her courtroom. She says things to the defendants that they need to hear. It's rarely comfortable to have a total stranger give you a Reality Check but they need to hear the truth. Judges are not there to coddle and compliment. I wish we could clone Judge Boyd. I believe the world would benefit from such wisdom and her BS monitor.

Come on defense attorney. Time to retire. A 21 year old, has a 4 year old who lives with Grandma. That’s a recipe for disaster. Oh ya and she likes meth. Sad that the Mother has a stable job but has that girl for a daughter.

I’m in love with Judge Boyd. I love the way that she puts her foot so far up these girls butts and snap them into reality. Every word of advice that she gives is so eternally relevant. And it reminds me to keep myself on the street, narrow too. But sometimes hearing it from other people affects people differently than hearing it from your own. I made some bad decisions in my life but I have never ever ever invited a convict in and around my children. Let alone felon. Like what are these women thinking?

I respect this judge so much. She speaks nothing but the truth. Someone has to look out for these children that these women are having and not taking care of. And leaving them in the care of these men they barely know.
