Meaghan Kehoe He’s talking about kabuki screen, or a kabuki drop. The following is taken from rosebrand.com, which sells a kabuki system:
“The Kabuki drop is a special effect in which a lightweight fabric is dropped swiftly from above to conceal or reveal your product, space, or performers....The double Kabuki is a two-step process which begins with the curtain stored above, out of sight. The first trip releases the curtain into its concealing position. A second trip releases the curtain to the floor for the reveal.”
From what I saw at the concert, they used a double kabuki. After the opening band (AWOLNATION) is done and most of their equipment is offstage, they drop the kabuki to conceal the stage while Twenty One Pilots crew is setting up (this is the first trip). Then they did the second trip when Twenty One Pilots starts playing “Jumpsuit”, dropping the curtain to the floor and revealing the band to the audience.

Just saw the Sydney, Australia show. Totally amazing performance, light / graphics show. Just so much visual with the music and some good old fashioned show business tricks thrown in. A band who deserves a much bigger following. Any band that has lots of fire as part of the act is always going to win me over. Best confetti Co2 and fire finale I have ever seen.

im gonna see them in concert for the 2nd time on the 19th. it doesnt even feel real yet i've had the tickets for months. the first time i saw them was during the emotional roadshow tour and i didnt know much of their music at that time. now they are my favorite band and i get to hear my favorite song in existence in concert. thank you both so much for making music and sharing it with us. im not sure where i would be without it and i know many people feel the same.

Edit: Ok guys I wrote this comment 2 months ago and I wanna tell you that since then I've changed and I started to understand a lot of things. I understand that idolizing people is not okay. Ok some people are just awesome and just so good that you may think that they're gods. But the world doesn't spin only around them. Everyone have their own opinions and I don't judge them. So yea just know that no one's perfect and I've learned this lesson to not idolise people.
Tyler and Josh are good and all but that's not the point. The point is what they do. They create music that helps people get from one place to another. It helped me and I'm very thankful for that.

Husband and I camped out at The Forum for our very first concert EVER!!! and First Twenty One Pilots show and it was awesome! The crowd was freakin bananas and the taller people ended up pushing in front blocking my view but the end made up for it... Tyler drum surfed in front of us!!! A week later my husband surprised me with TOP Tickets and we camped out at Tacoma Doma in Washington so that I could actually watch and enjoy the show. It was AMAZING!!!! I fully immersed myself in the concert and we had the time of our lives!!! First time I ever heard them was during chemo treatment two years ago and their Cancer rendition was the first song that I felt was saying everything I was feeling. I cried like a baby and my husband really delved into listening to them as he didn't talk much about how he was coping with my treatment. I've been in remission and was able to attend a concert. Thank you TØP for fully enjoying what you do and putting your heart and soul into every performance. I loved being able to watch you both in your element with those huge smiles fully loving and enjoying.

I wanted to make this appreciation comment. 💛 Tyler, you have worked very hard for many years. you are talented, inspiring, kind, funny. 30 years of you living, 30 years of you being talented, 30 years of you being you. you have looked up to so many people. remember when you said “stay alive?” that helped so much people love themselves. that helped so much people continue in life, not ending it. you care for the clique, and we care for you. you helped us, the clique, get through so many hard and tough things. you’re so lovable and caring, I can’t believe it. your albums throughout the years have been amazing. why? cause you have so much talent. you try hard. you don’t give up whenever something is difficult and tough for you, that’s what I love about you. there must have been ups and downs in trench, but you still kept going. also, you’re positive. you influence people with positive things, helping and caring for them. Tyler, you have worked so hard for 30 years. 30. you are an amazing human being. you are so sweet and kind. you don’t make fun of people, you don’t bully people, etc, and that’s what I love about you. you have such a creative mind with creative ideas flooding out. you have such a big, gullible heart for everybody. you are amazing. you’re a very sweet person that was created and put onto this earth. I am very glad you have been put on this earth. you help me and the clique every day.
