  • Monster Lake Trout at Tazin Lake Lodge in Northern Saskatchewan. Megan and I take an all inclusive trip to catch the Lake Trout of our lifetimes. We drove from Winnipeg and took a connecting flight into Fort McMurray, where we hopped on a float plane and headed to our fishing adventure of a lifetime. We spend 5 full days targeting giant Saskatchewan Lakers at the amazing Tazin Lake Lodge. I never dreamed trophy lake trout was anything like this. #fishsask #laketrout #fishingtrip

    The odds of catching a giant out there are just unmatched. I would go back every single season if I could!

    An Epic fishery. Those giant lakers had to be pushing 40....maybe 50+ years old...

    That is a massive lake trout, no doubt about it. However, in my opinion, that is not a 50 pound fish. My guess would be in the area of 37-42.
    I hope that my weight estimate does not come across as rude or disrespectful in any way. That is a trophy fish REGARDLESS of where you are and is definitely larger than any fish I have caught; and I’ve gone salmon fishing off the West Coast of BC. I just don’t think that is a 50 pound lake trout.

    Beautiful fish, but neither of those fish is over 40 lbs. Hell, the second one isn't even 30. Takes one hell of a Laker to hit the 40 lb mark. Without weight a fish, one should not be calling out weights.

  • @dougstiehl3133

    I would estimate that the fish were between 35-40 lbs

      @@NicoleStoneOutdoors Length x girth x girth divided by 750. So 43" long and 27" girth = 42 pounds!

    • @NicoleStoneOutdoors
      @NicoleStoneOutdoors  2 месяца назад +1

      @@albertgetty9382 We don't know the girth!? But thanks for sharing that formula. It seems to depend heavily on what they eat, right? The 46 we saw was way skinner and the one Russ got was soo fat, turns out it had just ate! They could feel it in the belly.

    • @albertgetty9382
      @albertgetty9382 2 месяца назад

      @@NicoleStoneOutdoors I guessed the girth. We didn't measure girth on either of mine, but I think they were pretty fat!
