I was born here 68 years ago. It's never been my country. Let's not forget that how land ownership evolved in this country. The Norman's transferred most of our lands from the people to creating a landed aristocracy existing to this day with the likes of the Duke of Westminster and thd Royal Family. Then Parliament run by the landed gentry passed the Enclosure Acts that transferred the remnants of commoner land assets to private ownership.

The only way I cam emigrate, is if I won the lottery. My dad wanted to take us to Australia in 1964, but my mum's dad sadly died (just before his retirement), so my mum didn't want to leave her mum - she could've come with us. But my mum was pregnant too. In 1991, my boyfriend and I had all the necessary forms etc, to go to Australia, but his job fell through, so we couldn't go. The ONLY place left on the planet worth going to, is New Zealand. I agree with Jim, this country has had it - but what can us poor do?
My dad wanted the same under the scheme for £10 poms :) but my mum fell pregnant with my brother in 1966 and put the kybosh on it. That said, having seen the $hit that went on under lockdowns and since it may be a blessing. I don't know.
