@@martyn4422worked for military charities and moral boosting shows for the Forces over seas such as the Falklands & NI. If you knew this you wouldn’t have said anything unless of course you believe we don’t need an armed force (membership of which is still voluntary ).

He took shots at us, and fact he took the piss at so many people I'd be annoyed that he didn't take the piss out of us. It's a joke. Banter, and as long as it can be taken in return with good honour where is the problem? And as for recognising his humour late, me too. A child of the 90s..and big break. Which was TV gold.

What Jim said about the BBC was enough for me to cancel the licence fee! They are supposed to be even handed and impartial! As for all these venues that cancel artists once the dates have been booked and tickets sold should be sued for all that lost revenue, & it should be the individual who took the actual decision that should be sued personally!

As an ex-serviceman, I thank Jim Davidson and multiple other showbiz stars for their support. I remember well the live shows we saw in El Adem (Libya) and elsewhere. Thank you all, and lets cancel the BBC!

But you do notice how in Rising Damp the butt of the jokes is Rigsby, the racist, where as with Davidson, it was all one way traffic.

Jim Davidson has done an enormous amount for the services and especially ex service personnel with problems.
He has shown up many so called service charities who dont support ex service personnel with problems.
He literally tells you he did it because he got paid, then he's realised the majority of ex forces are narrow minded, sexist and racist and he can milk them for a bit more with his pay to view online channel..
If someone is offended then that is the measure of that person.

When I was a kid Jim was a staple of comedy on the telly. He was funny then, and I suspect he would be just as funny now, given half a chance.
Has he written any new jokes in the past 30 years? All I've heard him do lately is complain about the world changing, like my parents did in the old days.
He's old school and to be honest I don't find his old stuff funny anymore but I still like the man. At least he speaks his mind.

I find him distasteful, so maybe he has done things for armed forces and I am sure they appreciate that. He has however not done anything , apart from spew hatred against minorities.
