I'm f2p, I've been playing since launch. Although I skipped Vala's rate up, I've pulled for both Florabelle and Alsa and managed to get both to Mythic+. Florabelle is even S+ now thanks to the last two copies coming from epic invitations. Maulers also happen to be my favorite faction dating back to AFK Arena and I'm happy for the love they got in Journey, they felt so neglected in Arena, at least for the first two years before I quit playing. Naturally I will likely be pulling for Soren as he seems to specialize in aoe damage and a little bit of cc (something Maulers are lacking a bit in), and almost certainly will synergize with Alsa. I've got Odie on his way to S+ and I opted to work on Antandra over Koko first not only because she's a tank and the game has been stingy with Thoran copies for me (he's stuck at M) but she's also my favorite character from Arena along with Satrana and I want to finish Odie asap so I can replace him with Satrana on my wishlist. Suffice it to say I won't have room on my wishlist for a while, so being able to target him is good enough for me. If I can at least get him to M+ while the banner is active then I'll be satisfied.
I started playing right as Florabelle was leaving the rate up, as soon as I saw Alsa, the character just clicked for me. Good or bad I went all in with my resources and got her to S+. No regrets.
Similar, except I completely skipped on Vala and Florabelle. I didn't like Alsa at first, but the game did a good job selling her to me in gameplay and story, so I also went all-in. Side thing: I actually also started an alt account and I just want to quit it already. It has S+ Florabelle and other cool things, but stalling for summons is just way less fun than watching Alsa's high risk high reward gameplay.
i'm worried is the AI. With how it is atm the AI refuse to make unit walk certain path already in arena and by loading up more melee units in team with Also walls feel like shooting ourselves in the foot
I might wait and see if we have a new Noble Pass in 15 days. Lots of time to see if he is any good and then pull to supreme+ to boost the new Noble Pass with 400 pulls. I don't know if there will be another noble pass, but the original one does run out soon and there is space for 5 noble passes.
Still waiting for feedback from Whales before I even consider Soren. I think he looks pretty underwhelming atm compared to other mauler A tiers. His advertised niche as a rogue with crowd control is just done better by Eironn. And Satrana offers more damage and aoe via her seasonal skill and her ultimate/passives, if you even wanted another mauler aside from Alsa in a magic damage team in the first place. And his knockback seems actively detrimental to the traditional Mauler rush team for pvp, seriously go ahead and knock the Thoran into the backline you want to be attacking. Thoran is already the unit that mauler rush struggles with the most in pvp, often wiping them all out with an ultimate and your just helping him position himself even more effectively.
TBH I wish he was a tank hero with cc but I think we can make him work in an Alsa/melee squad especially for PvP. I'm doubtful he is good vs bosses like Alsa is
I joined recently in the game, about a week and a half ago, something about Alsa just resonated with me, I liked her design and kit. I did do my research on the character, heard plenty of opinions. In the end, I caved, I got Alsa at Mythic, not plus though, still she's fun unit
There's no really point in criticizing a hero for poor performance in arena defense, you might as well say they all suck because once you have all your units built up (someday -F2P) any and all defense teams just get counter-teamed.
tbh i didnt pull for Alsa will not pull for soren. No point. normal banner is 10x better when you need plenty more copies of crucial units to get them to mythic+ supreme+

Very true, AFKJ rocks some of the best A-rank characters of any gacha game I've played. Soren looks to be incredible. Can't wait to pull for him!
As soon as i heard Soran is next i did want to pull for Alsa. As soon as i heard Soran is an A grade i went all in for Alsa.
Shakir, Soren and Alsa prolly makes a good core against Eironn teams

Alsa at S+ is still garbage for PVP, every time I see one I know its an easy win lol
They are simply using her wrong for sure haha, her positioning REALLY matters
You are at a massive advantage when attacking. If positioning is important for her, she will obviously not perform as well on defense.
