What a wonderful video of the Scottish culture surviving in Cape Breton Nova Scotia from the Scottish Gaelic language to their music and to their dance steps from the Highlands of Scotland across the Atlantic Ocean to Nova Scotia. Slàinte Mhath! 🍻 🇨🇦

I’m a young francophone from Louisiana and have many Acadian ancestors from down in Grand-Pré and Port Royal. I also have Scottish ancestors (although they never set foot in Nova Scotia). I’ll be in N.S. for the Congrès Mondial Acadien in 2024, and I so hope to make it up to Cape Breton when we go. If we do, we’ll definitely stop by the Highland Museum! Our two cultures, Acadians and Gaels, have fought to keep our languages alive, and I wish y’all only the best in upholding the renowned ways of your ancestors! 💙🤍

What are they doing with the fabric at the table? Does that serve a purpose?

But of course you left out the deep Catholic traditional devotion ... at least you included a few seconds of a church

So you think we just left ? We werent violently and brutally kicked off our lands ? No ..we just fancied a wee holiday abroad .... this is nice but its so passive gael that its painful . We need to start telling what actually happened .
