I told my advisor in 2012 I wanted to be an Islamic scholar they looked at me with so much confusion. So they tried to push me towards teacher. I can relate to wanting to be something the system has not developed yet.
The "second wife" part was tiring. I've never had plans for a second wife. But all "figuring" in Islam that is devoid of Quran, hadeeth, and the opinions of the great scholars is tiresome to me. Now brothers WITH support from the Quran, the hadeeth, and the great scholars of the past will have to deal with objections from people who saw a RUclips video about an issue that falls under scholarly consensus as halal, while the same brother will not be beleaguered in the same way over an issue where scholars disagree, some saying it's halal and some saying it's haram. The same objector often makes allowances for the fasiqoon in the community, "They are coming to Islam in 'stages'" Many innocent brothers experience the rules of objection turned on their head in their community by people who have had their nafs fed at an ISLAMIC lecture. Please make your speaking imply that you fully support the sharia, that it is correct at all times, and that we DON'T need a special messenger for "these days and times, living in the west." May Allah open his doors to us.
When a channel quotes the sectarian Foudah, it rather undermines the praiseworthy attempts the brother has made in reconciling and working alongside the Hanabila and Atharis, for which he is and should be commended. Foudah is the Ash'ari equivalent of the sectarian Madhkali.
