The basic diminished chord with 4 notes is not necessarily corny. It can be used in a minor chord (as part of the harmonic minor scale) as extensions, and of course is super hip over diminished or dominant chords (just use the lesser used diminished chord from the scale). for example: on a g7 use a g diminished chord as extensions.
All of this is extremely useful and I deeply appreciate it. But an overhead camera angle would make it twice as useful, for those of us who need a little bit of visual help.
The Slick Voicing (tm) lives up. Wondering - could you guys do a like, example video on how to make subs for a standard? Kinda similar to when Adam gave the sheet music for "All The Things," but with some audio on how you're thinking when you decide on a chord sub. Doesn't even have to be a short one; I'd watch a 3 hour live stream if that's what you had. Been curious about this a long time, especially with advanced harmonic substitutions.
Downloaded app Anytune to my iPhone. Tried the free one first because I’m stupid when it comes to figuring out how to use. Is there a tutorial? Because I tried to search for a tune after I got the app and of course nothing happened. Wouldn’t download the song. I’m very old and very very bad with online stuff. Help please!! Thanks, Bruce
I had the same problem! I realized it’s because I did not actually own the songs on itunes, I only had them added to my library through Apple Music. So for each song you can either buy it, or I’m sure there’s a way to download the audio file for free online and upload it to itunes Hope this helps
Thanks for trying to help me. I listen to snything I want online free. Have no idea about downloading and uploading to a. library. I have no library. Don’t know anything about audio files and uploading. Uploading is a foreign word to me. I bought an app called amazing slow downer. They even have me a tutorial on how to use. Impossible for me to understand. I have learn to save stuff in a place called “notes” on my iPhone. To bad peter and Adam won’t walk idiots like me through the process.
Hey guys! I'd be interested to hear your take on the situation regarding Nicholas Payton and Jazz Memes, if you're willing to take on the controversy ;) Take care guys!

Anytune sounds really cool, but you guys spent way too much time advertising it here. I tuned in to learn about the 4 chords.

Do you guys consider most jazz guitar comping "corny" because we cannot play these crazy voicings?
you can cover the whole fretboard in each chord , you have every voicing for guitar although not the octave range but even still lots options
here is a C6/ F#dim7/ Dmin7/ G7/ progression across whole neck thropugh all octaves in voice leading
so start in high register and you will descend through all ocatves
