You forgot to mention how the base raiding works. You cant just raid any base. You have to kill someone, randomly you get a base raid token for that person that gives you an hour that you can raid, but it gives you a large circle, you have to go find the base. After that hour the token stops and you cant open anything in that area anymore. IE your base is safe as long as no one has a token. that token also has to be used within a short period of time and than it expires if you havent used it.
This was such a big selling point for me. I love Rust, but hate that it basically requires you to have a big squad or the ability to get on at all hours to defend you base. That you can't be offlined in Deadside really makes the game just that much more accessible and new player friendly.
I am a Deadside sweatlord with hundreds of hours in game. It is a lot of fun but it is still early in its development. The best thing anyone can do is buy and play the game. The potential is so high. I love it.

I have over 800 hours in Deadside and I think it is a pretty decent competitor to Dayz and Rust. It got a little stuck in development hell for a while, but another studio picked it up and has been making progress. Watch out for the Military AI, they are nutty!!
Friends and I picked up Deadside back at the end of November while it was on sale and had a really good time with it. At that point, the base building was pretty shallow and had some large bugs to be addressed. Overall though, it was manageable once you understood the order of operations for base building. But with their being very little to put into your base, it felt kind of lackluster. Where the game felt really good was in the gunplay, and the progression through the guns. I'm glad to see they're continuing to tighten things up and refine the overall system, like adding a prone position, as there was nothing else quite like running a 2 or 3 chevron mission with a squad or engaging in team PvP. Really hoping they continue to deliver, as the game was really enjoyable... we just ran out of steam with the limited content there was at that time.
I have played this game quite a bit, 40 hours or so. Bought it back in 2021. I do find this game fun but that mostly stems from player encounters and talking to them, you can get some funny moments from time to time. I do think that after a certain point the game can become a bit stale after you have set up your base and have decent enough gear. That is because I feel like the mid tier guns can compete fairly well with the high tier guns so it becomes kinda boring without those player encounters that I talked about before. I have heard that they recently had a gun balance rework and stuff like that so it might be different now. While the updates have done well in refining some of the stuff like gunplay I do think that the AIs on missions can be hard if you dont have the most optimal loot. The harder bots feels like they can have aim bot and they always seem to know where you are if you get close enough, unless you find a good hiding spot. I would also like to see more tasks or missions as the gameplay loop can get pretty repetetive with it basically being the same thing just different difficulties for the bots. I would like to have something like tasks from Tarkov for example where I need to find maybe specific task items to upgrade the traders to be able to buy guns instead of having everything unlocked from the start, I would also like to see more attachments that actually affect how the gun works. I feel like too little have happened in these like 4 years even if they are working on it regularly. We also dont have any vehicles except for boats. Something that I have been waiting for like 2 or 3 years for. I do think that the basics they have right now is a good fundation for something that can become extremely fun but right now I dont see you getting more than maybe 10-20 hours out of this game. I still enjoy it and would recommend people to try it out though
I feel like for this game it'd be quite crucial not to hand out weapons too easily. The thing with Rust is that every proper firearm you can land your hands on feels like a proper victory for how difficult it can be to get or build them giving a sense of growth when you gain them, and upgrade to more rare ones.
Yea as soon as he said the game starts off easier I lost interest. I've played Rust servers where you get a starter kit and it just feels broken that way. It's way too easy.
I've put about 150 hours into this game through weekly sessions with a mate. Starting out on a PvE server is good for getting to grips with the game and skilling up, but after about 50 hours we'd completed every mission and the challenge was largely gone. So we moved to PvP which is a hell of a lot of fun. Because missions serve as natural focal points, you'll have a lot of PvP encounters even if there's just a handful of players online. Anything from about 10 players up and you can pretty much guarantee constant action despite the map size.
The bots are OP, they can see you through bushes and reeds where you can't see them through them and take you out.🤔🤨 I went prone in some reeds and this bot I was running from found me and dusted me, I couldn't see him but he sure saw me, not fair.😞😠

Summary of this game: really good. Great fun... when you don't come across the abhorrent aimbotters. So much potential. I played as a group of 3 for around 40 hours or so on multiple servers. And without fail, there was a player who could headshot all 3 of us within a second from over 200m away. Fix the cheaters and it definitely a great game
I would not classify Deadside as a survival game since its survival mechanics are very light and bare bones. But as a multiplayer shooter its very fun.
This game used to be one of my absolute favorites when it was brand new. The map was smaller with the same player count. Half the server could be found looking for pvp at the only good monument "bunker". The fights were awesome even if the net code was awful. The community was super friendly compared to rust and dayz. Deadside is fun but take it for what it is and don’t expect much change the devs do not listen to their players and instead make useless updates that do nothing for the actual game play I’ve owned for two years out of the four it’s been out and I can tell you the map just gets bigger that’s it all other updates are just them reskinning parts of the game.
Pretty fun but the game gets borimg overtime and the devs are weird. But gameplay is very fun. Just the lack of content is a bit sad. But if there is a sale 100% buy it
Found Deadside On Someone's Video Sometime Late Last Year And Fell In Love With it. It Was A Cool Game For What It Was but I Think My Expectations Were A Bit High With The Game. Having A Name Like Deadside Well I Expected The Dead / Or Zombies And Survival Baked In Or A Mode Like That Anyways. I Liked The Game But After Awhile The PVP Mode Got Real Annoying And It Just Felt Like There Was Really No Goal. I Fully Recommend It As A Fun Survival / Rust Like However If You Are Into Those Kind Of Games.
Did they ever fix this game’s dog shit lag/desync issues? Got tired of the delayed kills/deaths from npcs and other players, and haven’t touched this in years.
Have played Deadside since the first year. It is a great game because you can jump in as a filthy casual and just have fun. Losses don't feel devastating, like you don't end up with that feeling that "Oh....well there was just an hour wasted of my life." Once you get your groove it does become incredibly easy, but that being said, it feels like the experience they are going for is casual fun with that loot/survival itch getting scratched at the same time. They have a small dev team, but they really do try to do their best listening to the community about bugs and suggestions. This isn't something you may want to marathon hours through, but it is something you can get 20-45 min gaming sessions into , if that is all you have, can have fun and scratch that gaming itch.
Deadside is great bur rn the devs are adding useless and weird stuff that made the game less hardcore (what it was originally) and now its more friendly towards older ppl 😂

Some things you forgot to mention: 1. the AI is very bad, to the point that you can kill them by just running at them with a knife, to a certain degree 2. the game is basically dead, there's barely anyone playing anymore 3. the updates for the game have been very slow over the years which is why the population dwindled I was one of those that have played this game since the start and considering it's direct competition with Rust, DayZ and Tarkov, you'd expect the updates to keep rolling in at a faster pace so it can keep up and/or surpass either one of those bigger titles. It's sad how this game's died to be honest. The same thing can be said about the other game similar to this, namely Miscreated.
you might be right about the nothing to do part but lord just use a mouse, its not like this game is available on xbox or playstation. Imagine a PC player being like man wtf wheres the mouse support on a console only game....
Stay away from this game it is an unfinished spawn system. You can suicide spawn wherever you want around the map, even right on top of yourself to negate all food and water mechanics. It is not a survival game at all
@@aaronthomas4980 so you can't just suicide and get full health and 50 food and water and spawn wherever you want on the map? Lol which part was incorrect
It's not a survival game. It's a casual looter shooter with light survival elements. But yes you can suicide and respawn at fixed points with 100hp, 50 food/water. Similar to many other games, but potentially a bit less punishing as DS is designed to be faster paced. And yes it still needs a lot of adjusting to prevent easy suicides imo.

I want deadside on PlayStation so bad!
DayZ FTW
Deadside is 10/10 Would Bang
you make a video on every game in try out again lol
after playing tarkov... looking at interiors this bland doesnt work for me anymore... you walk into a house and there is just some random chairs, a bed, some tables and maybe a fridge and some pictures.. it just feels so wrong after having played tarkov where ever room feels like a real room.. i dont know, i dont even wanna say the game is bad but for me it just wouldnt work immersion wise
Is the map fully open yet? I started dead side 3 years ago and got bored after 2 days
I played deadside 2 1/2 years ago but the LACK OF CONTENT and proper features this game should have just doesn't. The gunplay was the best but....
You haven't played DayZ in awhile, I'd say. Or at least, modded servers.
if ppl weren't assholes to each other in these types of games betraying each other ect i would probably play more of these i wana try this but i rust gave me a bad experience
Havent really had any betrayals in deadside, i think its atleast a bit different in that sense. Just build trust slowly and dont add some1 to ur base right away etc
Is it a persistent server like days?
have you seen the EFT news? do you plan on making some content covering that new BSG scam?!
Arms 3 Exile
Deadside is fun but take it for what it is and don’t expect much change the devs do not listen to their players and instead make useless updates that do nothing for the actual game play I’ve owned for two years out of the four it’s been out and I can tell you the map just gets bigger that’s it all other updates are just them reskinning parts of the game.
remeber back in 2021 everyone calling this a scvam and asset flip of dayz.... odd
I Fully Recommend It As A Fun Survival / Rust Like However If You Are Into Those Kind Of Games.
wow, they stole Duckside UI. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
?
This game has been out for years now. So Duckside stole the Deadside UI....
@@crow7.624 ye fr. Just bc something is more popular doesn’t mean it was there first. But hey ppl stupid
You’re the only beta I need
wait deadside is good now? i got it when it dropped years ago and it was so ass, i mean it was okay but nothing to write home about
Did they ever fix this game’s dog shit lag/desync issues? Got tired of the delayed kills/deaths from npcs and other players, and haven’t touched this in years.
Yeah it's pretty darn good now. Especially if playing on a high performance server
@@JimTheCoffeeGuywell actually 🤓. Goofy ahh update
Does it have anti-cheat tho? 😮
EAC yes
There's 0 rust aspects in this game.
It has base building but that's about all the "rust" it has in it
Ye. Deadside is pretty unique when it comes to survival games
Can we have Tarkov at home? , tarkov at home.
It's a good game but updates are slooooow af.
Map and basebuilding sucks. But its kinda good anyway. Runing sim feel as well.
Whaddya mean, me and the boys have had so many 4-8 hour sessions
Deadside is great bur rn the devs are adding useless and weird stuff that made the game less hardcore (what it was originally) and now its more friendly towards older ppl 😂
Is this deadside, or arean breakout infinite. The heck is your description, its so damn confusing
It's deadside arena is the sponsor which is why it's confusing
To bad the game has the slowest development cycle and some of the worst basic AI
Another game u might like is a game called “scum” very similar to deadside
Deadside has potential, but everything from the gameplay loop, content, gunplay and community are all underwhelming in my opinion. It's a shame.
Yeah, it gets old quite quick
Agree. Needs a more robust gameplay loop and purpose to continue playing long term
@@JimTheCoffeeGuyyes and make the game fucking hardcore again. Not some shitty ahh updates so all the 50+ ppl habe a chnace of once finishing a hard mission or killing one player. New update and mp5 model and skins are a joke. 😅😅😅😂😂😂
Was better in the old days. It looks like the devs dont have a clear vision on what the game will be
Play Scum
Too bad the ai is terrible
I would continue not enjoying their family.
omg
fart?
A dayz copy with cod controls.... Right....
You can't just call any open world survival game a dayz clone. Also the controls are more like tarkov than cod
Ok game but no SA servers, unfortunately that's a no-go for me :(
South Africa? Or Brazil? Cuz both are options with gghost...
@@JimTheCoffeeGuy South America.
Duckside is way more fun and uses same engine
Duckside stole all the assets. Ye and Duckside is more of a clone of deadside and rust combined and has very diffenrent gameplay
Some things you forgot to mention:
1. the AI is very bad, to the point that you can kill them by just running at them with a knife, to a certain degree
2. the game is basically dead, there's barely anyone playing anymore
3. the updates for the game have been very slow over the years which is why the population dwindled
I was one of those that have played this game since the start and considering it's direct competition with Rust, DayZ and Tarkov, you'd expect the updates to keep rolling in at a faster pace so it can keep up and/or surpass either one of those bigger titles. It's sad how this game's died to be honest.
The same thing can be said about the other game similar to this, namely Miscreated.
Isnt this game full of hackers though?
what online game isn't anymore?
@@Killswitch1411 I hate that you are right
@@Tangowastaken I've pretty much stopped playing pvp
No controller support and nothing to do....the best looking walking simulator.
This
you might be right about the nothing to do part but lord just use a mouse, its not like this game is available on xbox or playstation. Imagine a PC player being like man wtf wheres the mouse support on a console only game....
smells to me like DayZ Copycat
Basically a tech demo. Looks like it's from 2008. Clunky and empty open world. This is a concept and nothing else.
No. Have u played it?
hella dead game tho
SCUM is better I think
If DayZ and Rust had a baby.......and it was born mentally and physically handicapped, and everyone ignored it.
Stay away from this game it is an unfinished spawn system. You can suicide spawn wherever you want around the map, even right on top of yourself to negate all food and water mechanics. It is not a survival game at all
incorrect
@@aaronthomas4980 so you can't just suicide and get full health and 50 food and water and spawn wherever you want on the map? Lol which part was incorrect
It's not a survival game. It's a casual looter shooter with light survival elements.
But yes you can suicide and respawn at fixed points with 100hp, 50 food/water. Similar to many other games, but potentially a bit less punishing as DS is designed to be faster paced.
And yes it still needs a lot of adjusting to prevent easy suicides imo.
@@JimTheCoffeeGuynow u mention casual. Now its casual bc yall goofy ahh ppl removed the only hardcore stuff from the game. Yall cannot ban me here bc im already banned on the discord 😢
@@RustyBear sorry, I don't remember you. Generally we only tend to ban cheaters and excessively toxic people tho, so I tend to forget people as soon as they're gone.
