The akira is a cool ship! One of my favorites going up against the pound for pound 🐐. Good thing the defiant couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the quantum torpedoes.
Well you must be right.. Work saying '' Prepare for ramming speed''..!!! Crikey..... Well done Captain with my Akira Class.. love that ship... I too love the lighting... and style at the end like you said that is how an Akira Class does thing.. great video...!!!! Time for some Romulan Ale.... !!! Cheers mate!!!!
Is there something wrong with your install? The phaser setup on the Akira and the constitution look like the standard 8 array you get in the vanilla game...unless that's normal? The AI also seems to be all over the place.
Both the Defiant and Akira should have quantum torpedoes or not. Unless, I suppose, the Defiant was designed with the new torpedoes in mind. The Akira is supposedly the first of the tactical ships to be rolled out, so I suppose it might be quickly obsolete, but ought to be easily refitted. The Akira looks like a smaller ship than I might have thought, I've heard talk of it being able to be fighter carrier, but it just doesn't look large enough. It's got a deep saucer section, so it's got some volume to it, but I'm not sure its enough for a huge hanger bay. I've heard that it's design is a test bed that came out of the Federation-Cardassian War, making it an older design. The circular saucer section and roll-bar torpedo launcher sort of bears that out as it looks like it was designed for an alternative of carrying a big sensor pod. And a big shuttle bay could be a utility use as well. Still, it's spare frame with the deep saucer section does give it a 'mean and lean' look., this is a tactical ship for sure. I'm glad to see it in action. The Defiant still retains its advantages of being a small ship with a lot of firepower, being very hard to hit. A cruiser with a lot of firepower of its own, particularly torpedoes could come out on top. Clearly, the Akira had to work for it, though!
Akira's are larger than the Prometheus Class but smaller than the Ambassador. With rear torpedos and more phasers this thing would be a beast. Even now it should be able to take out any Dominion War era ship with the exception of the Sovereign, Prometheus and possible exception of the war refitted Galaxy and Nebula.
Haha! Indeed he was. Jean Luc was the only person who could stand up to him. Picard: "You Coward", Wolf: "If you weren't any other man i would kill you where you stand" Picard: "But I'm not just any other man, I'm Jean-Luc Picard!" Wolf: "Yes Sir".
Kobayashi Maru Mod. Take your fleet to DS9. Have a small battle 2 or 3 enemy ships. When you have won the battle tell them all to dock. I could on do 1 ship at a time. But the all hard to the same 1. This can be done at starbase12 also, but every time I arrived at DS9 there was always other ships that took the command to dock.
I made collisions on the normal game. When you get to the missions when you meet at starbase12. Put yourself in the starbase When you tell other ships to dock, yourself included, the resulting collision ends your game. From the captain's chair and select the ensign and hail the list is longer than on the battle screen. Open up all the ship to ship communications. High light the command to dock on all of them. If you're quick enough you can tell them all to dock. Keep doing it until 1 collides and gets destroyed.
There are only a couple of ships that have reinforced hauling in the front of the vessel. This gives them a choice to use as a ram. Uss defiant also has a warhead in the front so it can launch away from the vessel.
It looks to me like with a good human player in both ships that the Defiant probably does get the edge. I can't see a good human pilot giving up good positioning as often as the computer pilot did.
This. I thought I was going mad when I couldn't fire quantums anymore; the Akira was massively overpowered thanks to quantum spam, but its usefulness obviously decreased as it ran out of its allocation. The Nebula would probably be an interesting match-up - similar torpedo capability, but much better phasers.
There must be new programming with that mod. Some random program that maybe counts your battles without you know then on battle 500 and 501 collide with ship. I don't know how many battles you played. I was thinking of darts that's why 501 number came out. It could just be in the program to ram every so often. Or the computer is set to do a series of Manoeuvres and happened to be in the way. New programming for sure. As its happened on another vid of yours. Never really happened before.
Ooof, here's a tough one. Both were created for war. Hmmm does the Akira have quantum torpedoes? My guess is yes...does it have ablative hull armor? I know it's less nimble, so I guess it's down to power vs maneuverability. I can't call it, I say 50/50. Update: Oh! The Akira doesn't have quantum torpedoes...I didn't know that. Riker: Hey, Worf, you remember how to fire phasers, right? 😝
@@cosmeticscameo8277 No ship in canon trek has a chain reaction pulsar, that’s just something from a game. In reality we know nothing about the Akira. We can assume it wasn’t built with quantum launchers based on there being large numbers of them in fleet battles in DS9 and we don’t see other ships using quantums. I suspect the Akira is likely the next generation of heavy cruiser, probably replacing the Nebula in terms of new builds. Definitely a little more combat focused than a Nebula but likely still a multipurpose ship
@@CC-mp1wk All the ships seen during the battle in FC were new build ships for the fleet, part of the "anti borg" program. So they're all leaning more towards warfare.
@@OpenMawProductions Yeah absolutely. It makes sense that these were new multi purpose ships, using Defiant tech and with a stronger combat focus. That way they could still carry out a variety of assignments, but if the Borg invaded they would be far better prepared
I have a request. Really easy 1. You the player be SCIMITAR vs the Borg At battle ground DS9. With other ships to help. When you win tell the other ships and your warbird to dock. When I tried it didn't fit.
Akira seems to be broken. check this to see what i am talking about: ruclips.net/video/farE0lCpM4k/видео.html as much as i don't like this guy personally he does do VERY GOOD lore videos. Amazng how you one the 3rd battle mainly because the PHOTON TORPEDO phalanx launcher finally decided to work lol. the rear torpedos never fired tho and there are 4 of them. In an all out battle the Akira is more powerful than the defiant but the defiant has ablative armor so even of it's lost it Shields would still be able to continue battling
Ablative Armor is only good for beams or energy based weapons not anti matter warheads , the Akira is a Torpedo Gunship, if it did get a Defiants shield down its game over with all those Torpedoes no way will it endure that.
You would have won that much faster had you increased power to all system at the start, rather than just increasing power to shields halfway through the battle 🤦♂️
With 15 torpedo tubes, I expected a lot more torpedoes to be spit out by that Akira!
How to use the Akira class
Step 1: shoot torpedoes
Step 2: more torpedoes
Step 3: redo steps 1 and 2 until everything is dead
Seems like a pretty solid battle plan 👍.
The akira is a cool ship! One of my favorites going up against the pound for pound 🐐. Good thing the defiant couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with the quantum torpedoes.
When you said Worf was on duty I immediately quoted "PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED!"
Obviously, the Defiant's captain read that there was supposed to be warhead in the nose of his ship, and by God he was going to use the damned thing!

I think increasing power to the sensors improves accuracy in addition to extending sensor range.
worf must be in command: RAMMING SPEED!!!
2:38 Worf was expertly trained by Jean-Luc. Just saying!

Nice upside-down NX battle :)
BADASS!
MIddle mouse button to fire torps sideway ;)
Just a video idea Prometheus class Vs Prometheus class or versus the Enterprise E.Anything that has multi vector assault mode.

Have you done a romulan shrike which was a reversed engineered defiant i believe
Yes, ruclips.net/video/P2AtUhN4hng/видео.html I need to do some more. It's a cool looking ship!
The KM mod used to give the Akira Quantum Torpedoes you could cycle to.
Would have ended that Defiant in 1 pass. ;P

Not sure what's going on with the game. Either way, it's a little annoying. If the Jem'hadar bug ships do it, it's fine though :-)
Akira class has port and starboard facing torp tubes. That torpedo dakka is why Stargate races would respect this ship
akira and nebula class ships are excellent "torpedo barge" type of ships that shows never showed properly.

more shield power
more damage soak ability
