You: What shields?! Reminds me of the second Mirror Universe DS9 episode when they built their own Defiant because Smiley downloaded as much of their files including the schematics for the Defiant. Anyways during the battle with the Klingons Sisko told Smiley: "Secondary power to aft shields" and Smiley was all, "What secondary power!?" That sucks that the Defiant didn't last the that long the second time either. I mean we saw for the first season or so....well plot convivence wise that Voyager didn't do so great against one or two of the big Kazon capital ships. Hell when they were able to take over Voyager thanks to Seska's help. Even Kazon raiders from different factions from the episode "Basics" were targeting one specific shield vector. The crew wasn't sure why until it was too late. With this episode I'm not surprised the Enterprise-E survived the onslaught.
I think that was pretty fair. The Defiant class were supposed to be 'pack tactics' ships, ie several working together to swarm and overwhelm bigger opponents, exactly as the Kazon Raider's were trying to do. The Ent-E just bodying the two carriers was cool to watch.
I really love these "story" kind of videos. I mean, you have a great voice and do great content and straight up battles are perfectly good, but these scenarios you come up with, the little missions, and especially the "What If" scenarios are really cool :D
Having watched your videos, your biggest weakness is relying too much on auto-pilot and maneuvering. You couldn't exploit the Defiant's maneuverability and you need to be better able to rotate exposure to different shield areas to let damaged shields regenerate.
Would have loved to seethe big E go muti targeting phaser barrage on the Kazon fleet but I guess Beverly wasn't available for a second guest tactical episode after firing nthe Connie Refit Refit's guns. Oh well, we'll just settle for Worf.
The Enterprise E in this mod can't multi-target sadly. However the New Atalune ship video i've just uploaded is the ultimate multi-targeter. It's the soveregin Mark 2 :-)
Yeah, these Kazon seem to have been given quite a boost- we saw Voyager handling four carrier classes handily, (popping a fresh one with three photon torpedoes). Sure, there had some holo-trickery to get shot less, but they still were able to dominate the Kazon when they weren't worried about the torpedo count. A serious Enterprise-E should've made the Kazon look like the Mars Defense Force circa 2366.
if I remember, the Kazon ships were powerful. But the Kazon were too stupid to use their full potential. They were a species unworthy of assimilation after all
@@absolutez3r019 They were sorta decent on offense, but defensively were jokes. Seriously, they're heaviest capital class was dropped by three torpedoes- if they had encountered Voyager after the Magic to create infinite shuttles and torpedoes happened, they'd have been less speed bumps at best. Hell, remember how many shots a Maquis raider that had been slapped around on the transit to the Delta Quadrant took- and it was still intact enough to total the Kazon capital ship in the pilot?
😲😨Crikey.. would have thought the Defiant would take out a few ships but eeeh... Glad 2nd battle on the Ent E.. and again quantums work great... thought the Kazon would be easily taken out but I was even nervous... Lol.. your helm's men was a bit freaked out , reason why the lie down.. lol.. I would too.. oufff. great battle Captain.. and love seeing the Ent E.... !😊🖖
@@RetroBadgerGaming After that Battle I would have had a lie down..lol... Yes I know was crazy Kazon ships are tough but not against quantums.. very bizarre...!!🤔😊🖖
Kazon carriers are big and dumb, but they do go BOOM! The Defiant might make much larger ships look weak and inept, but the class is indeed best at fighting other small ships, and can be swarmed itself if grossly outnumbered. I had little doubt that Starfleet would prevail in this battle with the Enterprise E and the Defiant. Still, the Kazon did better than I expected. I wonder how the Enterprise E would have done by itself? I probably shouldn't be so surprised, two capital ships against Starfleet's one, five fast attacks against Starfleet's one; of course they might have been too much for the Defiant and a handful for the Sovereign. Still, given how much trouble Janeway and her Intrepid Class caused the Kazon, I had little expectations for them.
can you please take an IMperial Star Destrioyer with tie escort out agsint the Kazon? i was reading a really awesome fanfic where Grand Admiral Thrawn "RECRUITS" the Kazon as loacl cannon fodder and by recruits i mean first he destroys several Kazon sects before the last one figures out the Galacic empire is NOT PLAYING GAMES and bows the knee.
I feel like yiu made this for me 😂😂 As it turns out the defiant was never destroyed. Sisko cloaked grabbed a coffee and watched for Locutus to die. Revenge is a tea best served cold🤪🤣🖖🖖 And now he's more mad than ever now. apparently resistance is futile🤣
You're correct. One photon torpedo from the Maquis raider against the Cardassian Galor did nothing but 3 torps from Voyager killed a Mother ship. Considering that they thought they needed 8 Large Carrier vessels (as tuvok put it) to subdue Voyager and Voyager almost walked through 4 of them when their fire wasn't focused on her I'd say the Kazon weapons were definitely on average extremely weak.
I usually find that teaming up on one target helps survivability. The more you can do to whittle down their incoming fire helps keep you intact, longer, instead of spreading out your fire and taking longer to stop the number of ships firing on you. As an aside, do you have a location for the Kazon Predator for the KM version of Bridge Commander? Gamefront doesn't have it, at least not anything I can find while searching....
The Delta Quadrant Pack contains Kazon Ships, including the predator. Sadly I can't post links as youtube keep removing them :-(. However if you search for Delta Quadrant Pack it should come up :-)
@@RetroBadgerGaming Thanks! I will give that a shot. And thanks for continuing to post all these unique battles. A lot of ships I never even knew existed or would have thought of searching for.
I thought the same thing quite a bit when watching Retro play as the Defiant. We saw how well the Defiant stood up against a refitted U.S.S. Lakota. Although we weren't really sure exactly how long that battle went on for but I'd imagine a while maybe an hour or so because of the Defiant's ablative armor.
This is imbalanced. Kazon weapons were barely effective against Voyager 1 on 1 they shouldn't be challenging Defiant. And Defiant's guns should be walking through the raiders like an Easy Sunday Morning. Should have been over in less than five minutes especially considering how effective Voyager's Type 6 torpedoes were against a Kazon carrier. (It only took 3 torps to sink the Mother ship)
You: What shields?!

Transporter room, beam the Defiant survivors aboard.
Man... How I love the Sovereign Class. Seriously! It's a BEAST!

They should have made a Sovereign, Akira, torpedo Nebula and 3 Defiants as a battle group.
Add an Intrepid for a scout .
The best news from that dammage report was the tractorbeam survived

Agreed..I could take all these ships with the Defiant easily by keeping their fire off the top and bottom shields.
The top view was quite nice , more details from phaser impacts . Well done .
2:07 I can hear Dukat saying now would be an excellent time to engage the cloak.
😂 He’s the best tactician out there, the best!! 🖖
I want to see the Kazon vs the Jem ha dar ........ holy shit awesome sauce 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
That was a really really amazing video I'd love 2 C a Romulan D'Deridex Warbird vs the Kazon Predator class
Good game. Thanks for sharing 🇬🇧 Bows
Nice.

How about the Enterprise G and E against the Kazon fleet.
Sounds like word was commanding the defiant lol

If I were you I would have warped out of the fight and repair my defiant but it holds very well !
You can't warp in this mod sadly. This was played in BC-Remastered. Hopefully someday we'll be able to :-)
@@RetroBadgerGaming Ahhhh of course
This was an good battle but....could've had at least 3 Defiants with the Enterprise-E
How about 3 early klingon bird of prey up against 3 uss Bonaventure tas ships. Might be a good fight

How does the enterprise E fair against the begrudgingly canon Enterprise G?

Kazon ships are overpowered and the Defiant is under powered in this one.
Without even eatching, the fed ships will win. By a lot
We will call this battle the caffeinated catastrophe. Tea Earl Grey hot could not save Ratakjino! 😿🫖 ☕

If defiant was there in the show kazon wouldn't have stood a chance. Against Big E zero chance kazon have.
