I wish all repairs videos are done like this one, clean, properly and straight to the point. No like others, they want to explain how are their mom, grandparents, husband, kids bla bla bla bla. Awesome video. Thank you
Thanks so much for the video. You are a big help in preparation before taking on this project. My 99Ford has 199K miles on it i ran it out of gas and it would not start after that. I replaced the fuel filter but i still have very little to no fuel pressure. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video.
great video,,is it safe to just change out the whole fuel pump assembly vs just the small pump inside? my 01 ST had a bad pump couple yrs ago..from that point it nvr read the fuel gauge correctly..so I'm wondering just replace the whole thing?
very good, now look at here, if the truck have been park for so long yes you can drain what ever gas is in the thank, put if is not replace your fuel pump and your fuel filter and always use a better brand and good premiun gas sometimes use a fuel treament for.so keep your engine clean and emissions and god bless this master mechanic for such education
What size fuel line fitting you think is that fuel emission line on the tank, I broke mine as soon as I touched it but want to replace only the fitting with the right one
I want to ask you a question that is killing me, I have a 2005 lincoln navigator 4x4. I have a problem with fuel pressure when I first turn the key on engine off the fuel pump keeps running it won't shut off with engine off, but when I turn the engine on the psi is 75 psi at idle too much pressure I replace fuel pump and fuel pump control module at the rear with no luck the connector at the fuel pump driver module looks good no corrosion or anything like that, please ant suggestions will help thanks.
Why are parts stores trying to sell me fuel pumps with 1 or 2 fuel ports on the fuel pump for my 2001 Sport Trac? Which is the correct pump. I have changed the filter, and Cam Position Sensor and also check fuel shut off switch and still wont start. Could it be anything else before I start changing the pump?
On a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4.0 it is at the rear passenger side of the fuel rail. Hidden by a bunch of pipes and hoses, However I know the 4.0 engine used in 2001 swapped out to a different type in Oct 21 so this may not be true for all 2001 models.
Its 2/3 full, and the only reason why I am not dropping the tank without proper support, also I bought the airtex E2296S and I see there is a clear hose acting as a return of some sort, my question is: Can I hook up a secondary gas filter via the clear tube? Will this interfere with pump in any NEGATIVE way? www.amazon.com/Airtex-E2292S-Fuel-Sender-Assembly/dp/B002XK13Q0/ref=sr_1_5?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1491786665&vehicle=2001-54-2814-20--9-9--3482--9-1--153-1-0&sr=1-5&ymm=2001%3Aford%3Aexplorer+sport+trac&keywords=2001+sport+trac+fuel+pump kinda like this one is set up. And thank you for answering my previous question so quickly......aloha
You could but I think the 3 bolts holding on the fuel tank are a lot easier. Taking the wheel arch liner would help manage the pipes you have to wrestle but you don't have to
There's 2 fuel pumps, one with 1 port and the other with 2 ports. How do I find out which one is mine? My manufacture date says 5/00 and the earliest fuel pump date says 4/20/2001, should I get that one?
my 04 ford sport trac gas guage reads below E and it tells me low fuel and the check engine light is on. I'm pretty sure its the fuel sending unit but i was wondering if i should go ahead and replace the fuel pump since its right there. any imput would be appreciated thanks. '
im having problem with filling gas tank.cant run gas pump wide open.it kicks out the gas pump.have to run gas pump very very slow.15 minutes to fill tank. can anyone help me out. 2002 ford explorer 4.0 v6
I know this is way late but next time if you don’t already know but sometimes the tank will vapor lock and cause that. I had a van once that did that and I had to release the vapor by taking the filler tube loose and it made a hiss sound and started working. Another thing I’ve noticed is that some filler tubes are sitting flat and can’t get the fuel in fast enough cause it pushing it on flat or slightly up hill. I had a ford truck once that I had to carry a block of wood with me to put on the ground to drive up on to change the angle so it would take gas.

Hey man , the connector I have is still like that , but I’m not sure what the base of the protector is , mine broke off
nice job on this video. can you tell me how to adjust my fuel gauge it not calibrated correctly on my 2001 E150
I have the same suv, how much would a job like this run me?

You didn't mention replacing the fuel filter
thanks for yours videos, i have a question. i have a ford explorer sport 2003, and i need to know, is possible adapt a tank from ford expedition 2000?

Is this the Ford Explorer sport trac 2001 model ? Fuel pump part is E2296S correct ?
Why don't you show where the shrader valve is, or other ways to release fuel pressure? Not all of us have fancy gauges and tools

how much does it cost for replacement?
Can I remove the bed instead of dropping the tank? I have the same 2001 sport trac as seen in this video.

@@vintageandgraded7100 or just slide it back once its loose?

With a production date of 05/00 - May 2000 your application calls for the one tube style. E2296S used up to 4/23/2001.

Would of been nice to say what the torque specs are for it.

sigh. I think mine needs this.
Do your diagnosis before replacing a good pump!
