The addictive nature of marijuana is largely understated. I, like him, put all of my addictive energy into cannabis after quitting harder drugs and alcohol and guess what happened....I started doing harder drugs and alcohol after I ran out of weed one day. I just needed to feel different. Today I have almost 30 days clean from weed but there's no MA meetings around me. I feel like I don't fit in some of the A A groups around me and its hard to say that my primary addiction is weed. I don't want to waste money to damage my lungs and my mind any more

@@joykoilondon7169 bro I was in the exact same spot. I'm really happy to say that I'm almost a year sober from the time I wrote this. I smoked HEAVY from the time I was 16 and I'm 38 now. I PROMISE you...if I can do it you can do it. I failed myself a lot too...broken a lot of promises to myself and others...but I just kept trying. Get to a meeting and read the AA book. AA isn't really about alcohol...it's learning about ourselves in how we deal with life and why we feel the need to put things in our body to feel different....and why it keeps happening even though we tell ourselves we aren't going to do it anymore. You CAN do it...and you are not broken...you just need some duct tape. Take care

Incredible testimony. Thank you! We developed Mar-anon for families affected by another person’s marijuana use. Today’s state approved industrialized THC is not for the faint of heart.

For those that don't feel God, because that is the elusive part of the 12 steps. What do you do? I am personally trying hard. I'd be happy if God cleaned my spirit and made it new but I still wake up as me.

I know atheists in recovery who connect with their higher power by meditating, going out into nature, being of service, asking people for support, and doing uplifting things like that. I feel that elusive "spiritual" connection when I take those kinds of deliberate actions. Start with meditation.

"God could and would IF HE WERE SOUGHT" ....for me this means you take action to do the things God meant you to do. For me its doing the next right thing moment to moment. My image of God is actually myself as a child...innocent, fearless, and curious about life. I didnt create myself. I also "feel" a higher power when im in meetings, people coming together for a like purpose. Also pay attention to the last part of "God of YOUR UNDERSTANDING" how YOU understand him or her or it. It could be a potato lol. It doesnt have to be the God that everyone else tells you is the correct God. Its your God (spirit, higher power, whatever it may be)
