Good video but I’ve been in this buisness for 20 years and there is no such thing as a pool expert. Cause your always learning something new everyday

Why would you leave a 24v board in a high voltage area? It should be installed in the low voltage race way on left side.

Thanks John, good video. I have a customer with an RS-8 from 2003 and this looks to be what I need to do as I am a big fan of the intelliflo/intellipro pumps.

So for each programmed speed, you need an open available relay, is that correct?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  5 лет назад

Yes that is pretty much the case however if you want the pump to come on along with something else like a light or a booster pump you can share the relay. Then the pump speed we'll come on as well as the object that's normally on the relay.

Hi John, thank you for the video! For Jandy RS do I also need the intellicom 2 port? Also should I have 4 free relays to work with 4 speeds? Ty

You can do the RS the same way as this panel. However if the RS is not that old you don't need an intellicom.

So the low voltage wire you connected to the pump, does that come with the Intellicom 2 or do I need to purchase that separately?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  4 года назад

It comes with the red and black jumper wires

In all of the ads I see for the Intellicom I don’t see that particular wire with the screw cap in any of the pictures?

      1. On the IntelliTouch Outdoor Control Panel, press the Reset
button (see control panel illustration below).
      2. First Time MobileTouch install: The three red System
Control LEDs will be lit (solid). Wait a few seconds then
press the “F” Filter button. For IntellliTouch model i10+3,
press the “P” Pool Filter Pump button.
Add a MobileTouch with existing MobileTouch installed:
The three red System Control LEDs will be lit (solid). Wait
a few seconds then press the “V” button or “1” button.
      3. The three red System Control LEDs and the auxiliary
button LEDs will begin cycling. Wait until the LEDs stop
cycling. The three System Control LEDs will start to blink
on and off. The IntelliTouch system is ready to assign an
address for the MobileTouch wireless controller
      4. From the MobileTouch
      Advanced screen, press the
lower buttons 2 and 4 at
      the same time. The
      Service Personnel screen is
      displayed.
      5. Press the button next to LOCK
      ON ADDRESS to access the
      next screen.
Press button 2 and 4 at the same time to
      access the Service Personnel screen
      MENU SETUP ADVANCED
      Getting There
Note: For MobileTouch firmware version 1.160/2.160: The "Lock On
Address" line displays "MAN ADDRESS LOCK AUTO" - Press AUTO to
lock on the address. If MobileTouch does not connect then use the MAN
(manual) mode. You will notice on the IntelliTouch outdoor control panel
there are three System Control LEDs flashing on and off. There are also
two other LEDs going on and off. Watch these LEDs and you will see a
pause, followed by one of the AUX 1 - 8 or Heater or solar LEDs flash
on, then it goes off and a second LED will flash on. Then pause and
      repeat over and over. AUX 1 - 8 represent number 1 - 8, Heat = 9, and
solar = 0. So if you see Pause, AUX 2, AUX 7, see Pause, AUX 2, AUX
7, etc. This indicates CHANNEL 27. The first LED is the 10's digit, the
second LED is the ones digit.
      Continue on next page.
      6. Note: Before pressing the “Lock On Address” move
at least 20 to 30 feet away from the transceiver. Press
the button next to LOCK ON ADDRESS to assign a unique
frequency for the MobileTouch controller to avoid inference
from other wireless devices within range of the MobileTouch
      transceiver.

Hi John, Tomorrow I will be installing one to a Jandy RS system. My question is when I wire the Rs 485 terminal bar to the intellicom adapter, where do I pull out the two wires ? Green and Red wire? I didn't see it in the kit. In your vid. you had it already wired to the terminal bar.

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  6 лет назад

I just used some of the wire that came with the Intelliflo....... You need to follow the manual for the RS panel because the hayward 4 wire terminal bar is in a different order.... One wire is 24V and one is ground the colors don't matter as long as you get the hot to the hot and the ground to the ground.

      @@JohnThePoolExpertGuy thank you!

i think this is a poorly designed product. 1. The hayward panel already has 2 wire for comm that control hayward v/s pumps, this box should be designed to convert that comm to the pentair so it would be simple. 2. if you have all your relays used up, you would have to buy an expansion kit just to do this which then increases the price by another 600 or so

Hayward is aware. I believe it is intentional

Only if it’s a Pro logic , otherwise if it’s a AQUALOGIC , you’ll need the interface adapter, and also the pro logic has to have a 2.0 revision software. Been doing this 21 years now and I still learn new things everyday. Personally if it’s a Hayward automation system I tend to use Hayward products. Pentair system pentair product. , etc.
