So refreshing to listen to a level headed intelligent Arsenal video without the usual moronic over reaction and abuse. I can’t listen to most Arsenal channels, it’s embarrassing.
I have supported Arteta; but the fans you are talking about have definitely got a point with not winning anything this season his position as manager is doomed !
@stevebandit1964 give him till end of season to turn it around. I feel a similar way but if he doesn't win anything this season then he might not be the guy to take us over the line
100%. I decided to block AFTV as soon as I started hearing Arteta out talk. I'm so glad I did. The level of toxicity there is disturbing. However. He is to blame for our current directionless play in attack. Not strengthening upfront was a huge mistake and if we win nothing then it will all be on him. But let's wait to see what happens. He deserves the chance to turn this around. He's earned that.
Good afternoon Charles, Trossard plays well when we bring him on as a sub. I feel when he starts he plays too selfishly and tries to force shots or receives a ball to feet, then feints left and right to end up in the same space, and only then passes it off - this hurts our fluidity in the final third and puts him out of position to assist Gabi on the LW. When we put him on as a sub, especially when we are looking to knick a goal and take risks I feel he excels because of the aforementioned selfish playstyle, when the opposition defenders tire he is just tricky enough on both feet to have them fumbling but when they're switched on he is just feinting his shadow not progressing the ball. Final thought, Arteta seems to sub players way too late the players subbed on have no time to affect the gamestate and everyone else is too tired to assist in creating moments for attacking play. Have a lekker day, C'mon Arsenal!! 🙂🙂
True. Trossard is just pure chaos on the ball, no control. That's why he tried to play the Bournemouth striker in 1 on 1 for no reason. I'm gonna cry if I see him starting against Chelsea.
Hello Charles, the problem we have now is if an opponent scores first, we can't break them down and equalize. I also feel Trossard is more effective coming from the bench as well now. He doesn't affect the game enough when he starts.
Our problem is Arteta. He trusts the wrong players like Trossard,Jesus,Ziny,Sterling and even Martinelli who are not good enought. Havertz is good but not a striker. Many many mistakes. Arreta is the problem.
The TNT sport commentary was diabolical. They made it sound like Inter was dominant yet it clearly wasn’t the case. I almost lost it when ‘fletch’ made it sound like Mkytarian is such an elite player.
I miss the days when strikers thumped the ball top corner, wingers beat their man 1v1 and full backs overlapped. I honestly couldn't care less if Havertz created systematic overloads with a 77% pressing coefficient or Timber used dynamic inverting to outnumber the opposition's midfield fluidity structure. The joy has been sucked out of this team and we look a shadow of our 22/23 team in terms of energy.
Hi Charles…great content as always. Disappointing and encouraging at the same time. We need to mix it up meaning our countless crosses were getting nowhere…..manoeuvre the ball to create shooting opportunities from outside the box. I’d sooner see those attempts than aimless low % crosses into the box. As for our penalty shout…100% penalty….just look back at Poland v Argentina in WC 2022…Szczesny following through on an attempt to punch the ball away from Messi…very harsh but a penalty was given…exactly the same scenario.
Chelsea away has been a good oppurtunity for the younger players to step up. Remembering the Saka and Smith-Rowe effect couple of years ago. So there is a little bit of hope that Arteta is starting Nwaneri alongside Partey and Rice at Chelsea before Odegaard is getting his minutes later on. We need that. I absolutely believe in the turn-around. But it has to start know! COYG
Some statements don't make sense in real life 😂😂 The great Sir Alex Ferguson took 4 years without a single trophy but the patience of hierarchy paid off afterwards.
The defence is faltering because of injuries and suspension. Compare the ending back four against Liverpool to last season's line up. The goal conceded against Newcastle was a really good goal. Apart from the pen against inter, inter were toothless . So i think it's the attack. Nwaneri should be starting or at least have more time. Merino isn't really an attacking mid. Win rate without Odegaard is 47 %, with him it's 67%
Charles I’ve always said we can score goals in open games when we win 2 3 or 4 -0 but come tight games our goals completely dry up. Hence our current predicament is totally down to our refusal to buy a cf in the summer !!! Shocking lack of planning and understanding what we desperately required !! 🤷♂️
There wasn't one good enough available to buy. It's that simple. Thank god we don't just buy because we need anymore- that was why we weren't good in Wengers final years, but have patience to buy the right one.
Hi Charles! The performance was really good last night, bar the clear lack of creativty. My problem with Arteta is that he appears to rush his new signings into the starting 11. We had a great team last season which should have been kept as it was and slowly transition the new players in. But he completely throws that out the window and starts with a new set up. it feels like we keep starting over instead of buiding from previous seasons. Merino, should not be starter at this point and neither should Calafiori. Give them more time to learn how the team plays and let them earn the right to be starters. Love your show, its a vital part of my morning routine.
i disagree trossard and kai pair works. What u fans dont understand is martinelli is there You cant have an arsenal team with both martinelli, trossard in midfield and kai as CF. Kai can play CF or Midfield, the problem arises is when trossard plays midfield and doesnt know where the spaces are in the field against a low block simply because martinelli and kai is taking up those spaces. Its either u drop martinelli or trossard. At the moment u have dumb fans putting the blame on trossard who is just not an odegard but we have a Bastard manager who thinks so IMO thats a sackable offence cuz if u dun believe me go watch how arsenal played against fulham at craven cottage when trossard played midfield This is not the first time Arterta F up his tactics repeatedly, he may do deserve the sacking after all and lets not forget how defensive minded this manager is when mikel merino losing ALL his ground duels, Arterta has no clue where the balance in the team is and doesnt know how to create the strength and dynamism in the team. Against chelsea watch arterta realise hes been stupid all along and dump trossard for odegard cuz he got desperate.
@@GenericMedusa99 I understand perfectly well, thank you. What has the Trossard Havertz pair provided? Not very much this last run of fixtures. Trossard is only there because there is no one else. It's not his fault, but that doesn't make it less true. It's not a functional partnership. Trossard is best on the left, but Martinelli is doing enough to keep his place right now. Your observation has been noted and will be filed accordingly.
Hi Charles, I can't for the life of me understand why Arteta brought MO on with only 5 minutes of stoppage time to go. We were so dominant that if MO was on at 75 minutes it might have made the difference and it would have prepared him more for the weekend. Jonesey
There is undoubtedly a wider context to our poor start to the season (injuries, red cards, tough fixtures) but our transfer window was poor and is biting us. We needed another top attacker, whether that was a striker or a winger and we ended up getting Sterling who isn't being used as a sub when we are chasing games. Then selling ESR and loaning Viera and not getting cover left us short in that position too - which if Nwareri was the reason them why not give him more game time? Very disappointed, especially given how City aren't at their best.
Disappointing result but not as devastating as the Bournemouth or Newcastle games for me, anyone can lose at inter away, Odegaard back let’s gather some momentum 💪🏻🤝
Arteta's two big failings since arriving at the club almost 5 years ago were in full evidence last night: one, winning European (Europa or CL) away matches and two, successful rotation of squad (Prem, Cups or Europe). It is his Achilles Heel that he just can't get right. I think that's 1 win in last 7 away European matches. Going into a must win match on Sunday, Chelsea will have all 11 starters rested, whilst Arsenal will have played 9-11 starters at San Siro for a match that wasn't as vital as Sunday's is. No Jorghino, Sterling, Kiwior, etc. yesterday. Charles, when you write your sequel book about Arteta's Devolution..., hopefully this will not be his undoing.
🔴 Zinchenko and Nwaneri have been massively under used along with jorginho. Zinchenko helped alot with the build up of our play and overlapping martinelli creating space for 2 v 1. He also plays vertical passes and takes risk. Partey does the same. And it's no coincidence that in the 2nd half when Zinchenko and Nwaneri came on and Merino came off, we looked more fluid, we pinned them in. We created more chances, more spaces and dominated. We also pressed better. We lacked cutting edge in the box but the 2nd half performance was more of the Arsenal i recognize. We've recently become too defensive and risk averse. Obsessed with being safe with our midfield being static and slow with Rice and Merino. Partey has been sensational! Nwaneri has to start! Zinchenko is an offensive player that can be used to create and open teams up! This shouldn't be overlooked! 🔴
Almost every time Leo got the ball in the second half he went backwards or sideways . There was no central progression, just passes out to the wingers who were doubled up on nullified. When Ethan came on you could see him trying, the turns and driving forward. Its exactly what we needed. If martin isnt playing against Chelsea, we need to start ethan to have any chance of being creative enough to win.
Looking very likely to be Liverpool's year this time round. Back the the drawing board for whatever that is left of the season. Hopefully he does proper sensible recruitment
Wasn't tottenham top after 10 games last season? Even though liverpool was 5 points ahead of arsenal in january they ended up finishing 7 points below them in the end. Massive mistake to draw conclusions after a few games. Arsenal will go on a winning run like they've done the past 2 seasons
The Chelsea game the weekend is the biggest game of Arteta's career. If we lose that and Man City and Liverpool win, the league is done. If Liverpool comes and takes this league after us being the main challenger for the past 2 seasons and city drop-off. It will be unacceptable. Stop the bullshit now, we have to win.
Hi Charles, hope all is well! The game last night has left me somewhat annoyed and even more flattened. Yes, we played much better than we did against Newcastle, but again we lost. I know these types of games happen, but it does go to show we do need a ruthless forward. Someone who will drag us over the line when we really need it. Havertz has done this for us before, but he isn't a killer in front of goal, which we really do need. On to Arteta. I love our manager and where he has brought us to. But the stubborness to keep playing Trossard is beyond me. I know you can't always blame the manager for players performances, but there just seems to be issues all over the pitch as well. Martinelli takes too long on the ball and doesn't seem as direct anymore, which hampers our attack at times. Trossard has been poor and needs to be dropped, which he probably will now Odegaard is back. I know the injuries has affected the performance of our backline, but to me, Gabriel and Saliba's communication/understanding of each other has dropped off massively. Last season, they were so, so good and linked so well. But this year, just between their partnership, they both seem to go to ball or drop off at the same time and just dont seem to be coordinating very well IMO. What do you think, and what do you think Arteta should do during the international break? I'm thinking a dubai trip is needed 😅 Keep up the good work 👍 Dennis
This game reminded me a bit of the NLD earlier this season where Spurs dominated possession in the second half only because Arsenal allowed them to. That’s what happened here. After Inter got their goal they were more than happy to sit off and camp their tallest players in the box to head away any crosses. We didn’t look like we had any intention to score from anything other than crosses and set pieces. Personally, this performance did not give much hope after the Newcastle game.
Charles just a thought …. Are they so well coached that all individuality and therefore creativity has been stifled out of them ? Are they too scared to take a shot and miss ???
Arteta arrogance is exposing him this team needed a goal scorer for about 12 months now we can't even function without our captain We don't need better performance we need results
While giving Nwaneri a shot against Chelsea seems like everyone's wish and seems unrealistic at the moment, i would like to give Sterling a shot in Trossard's role if Arteta is going to stick with the 442. He played as false 9 and central striker at Mancity before. I don't know how Sterling would cope with such changes but he has played there before and has different profile compared to Trossard. More fast and direct than Trossard so could make combination of big and small with Havertz.
We have players missing, which is true. But, can't we change the strategy and the formation considering the players that are available? It seems Arteta has a fixed starergy and a particular formation, and he tries to fit in players to that, which isn't a problem when the whole squad is available. But when we have players missing, Arteta should consider rethinking his approach.
I don’t think the creativity is as much a problem as the finishing & quality/weight/accuracy of final pass around & in the opponent’s box. And there was lack of awareness of opportunities eg. once Trossard was in a better position to score & waiting for the ball near right of goal but he wasn’t given the ball by the shooter.
We haven’t suddenly become a bad team overnight, these players scored over 90 goals last season, just a blip, can see us putting a run together again in league with the fixtures we have in 2nd half of the season especially
The sky is not falling and no winger in the world is asked to deal with the problems Martinelli is tasked with - and has been for years. His left number 8 has been chopped and changed over and over again, his left back rarely overlaps. Jesus, the player he had the most natural chemistry with, has gone off the boil and can’t get back into the side. Our system tasks him to do more defensively in a year than most wingers will perform in a lifetime. Martinelli will be fine once the rest of the left side gets sorted. Glad you got to visit the San Siro Mr. Watts - hopefully the next one will be a better result. 👍
I nearly commented yesterday about the City handball and about what we can do to get UEFA to change that garbage rule. Of course after the season we've had it was going to happen to us at some point. We NEED to change this rule, imagine losing a final to that nonsense...
Nice watch Charles. In general play, we were better than we were at Newcastle, but for the lack of creativity, it was the same. The match could still on by now and Arsenal wouldn't have scored a goal still. Odegaard coming doesn't even fill me up with the most confidence that it solves all our issues. This team was never renowned for their creative excellence but rather for their defensive solidity and even that now, for some reason is faltering (when was our last clean sheet? Preston). Again Arteta has shown historically that he never likes to try new things anytime we are in these kind of rut, he always defers to seniority and experience so it doesn't matter what form Troussard is in, he must start ahead of Nwaneri because he is "older" and more experienced. And that is the major problem I have with him. Whether it is Laca over Nketiah, Willian over ESR, Holding over Kiwior, Arteta will not change until his hand is forced or it becomes too late. And I think this same thing is mirrored in the timing of his subs. The creative spark Arteta was seeing that convinced him to keep Troussard on until the 80th min before finally bringing on Nwaneri and Zinny when you are chasing an equalizer, only he would know and same point can be made on keeping Odegaard until Havertz injury in the 90th min. And I'm no longer falling for the whole "protecting" Nwaneri anymore, Zairy-Emery is the same age, he started and scored for PSG yesterday against Athletico Madrid (yes, a big team). I won't even mention Yamal too. If Nwaneri ever wanted to know what his chances of playing are when Odegaard is unavailable, he has his answer already (regardless of what Arteta says in his pressers) and that is why I don't blame these youngsters (Hutchinson, Walters, Duberry, Chido and the likes) for seeking the exit. 😒
Hey Charles, thanks for your content, really enjoy it! Your comments on last season's dip sparked an insight in my head. Do you think knowing how Arsenal mentality/usual trajectory is, has Arteta planned this slump in such a way that they go on an unbeaten run soon after this slump? (Because last season it did come a bit late) This explains why he has been so hesitant to change tactics/start Nwaneri. Just a thought.
I think it was a good game for Arsenal which was literally played in the Inter half the whole of the second half. It's not that easy to break down a top team that decides to park the bus. Inter are the current Serie A Champions. For proper context, they were at home and had only 1 shot on target which was the unfortunate penalty. I think the team is gradually coming back to form. The return of Odegaard will improve creativity.
arteta has literally turned us into stoke. we’re one of the worst teams to watch in europe. and his arrogance and excuses week after week are unbearable.
The injuries and the delaying the game Red Cards have not allowed Arsenal to get into a groove. Arteta hasn't had a chance to allow his best 11 to get flowing together in multiple games. It has been an unlucky start to the season. With that said, it could be much worse.
I resonate with yours and other's disappointment Charles, but before we all jump on the Artera bashing can we stop for a moment & think what travelling to Inter (a) in Europe would have been like pre-Arteta? More than likely a comfortable 3-0 home win & us just hoping not to get embarrassed!? We are right to highlight where our shortcomings possibly are but people need to take a breath & think about how we went to arguably the toughest away fixture in Europe right now (with City & Madrid faltering) and dominated, and where we might end up again if we don't back Mikel and keep a manager of his quality at the club. COYG
This was one of the better performances inter didn't chose to sit back and thats a misconception they were on top for the first 15 mins of the game they had no out ball and tried to get cheap fouls , i follow inter as well that's definitely not to plan to suffer like that. Our poor form can be attributed to changing the midfield to deal with injuries at the back, odegaard injury ,merino coming in and not being up to speed because of his injury , jesus injury lack of rhythm and saka injury all that factoring but biggest is OUR UNDERPERFORMING IN BIG CHANCES. Trossard is an interior and we def should move on from him or use him for diff opponents.
Lens: 2-1 loss Sevilla: 2-1 win PSV: 1-1 draw Porto: 1-0 loss Bayern: 1-0 loss Atalanta: 0-0 draw Inter: 1-0 loss. 7 UCL away games. 1 win, 2 draws, 4 defeats. 4 goals scored. Arteta needs to be more brave and bold in these European away games. This isn’t a team that’s anywhere near ready to compete for the Champions League.
I agree that Partey was excellent as defensive midfielder but disappointed with Merino - he was unlucky with the penalty and should have got a penalty - however, his overall contribution was and cannot see what he can offer us offering this season - again we were to predicable and we urgently need to change something in our game - the pace we are playing at is just too slow and lacks fluidity - all these crosses are just a waste as Milan just gobbled them up - Artea needs to change something in order we get back that spark we had last year.
This run of form we’re on has me so jaded. Especially when it comes to RUclips comments, I see a bad or stupid take and want to say something but end up saying F it cause it’s not worth arguing with rival and opposition fans.
Wow, looks like we have to relook at the definition of the word 'dominant'. 'Dominant', in my book, is pummelling the opposition creating chance after chance giving them no time or space at all. you keep up the attacks relentlessly and eventually you hit them for 2 / 3 goals. You could also possibly 'dominate' and simply have one of those terrible unlucky days when all those chances you create simply won't go in and every now and then that can happen. But now I now have to add our latest debacle to the 'dominate' scenario. No! now to 'dominate' also means you lose a goal and the opposition is so confident you will not create anything that they simply sit back and let you have the ball and you pass the ball mostly sideways unable to open you up for probably a month. Never in a month of Sundays are they going to score but they've had 90% of the ball so they have "dominated". So this, is in Mikel Arteta's head, is 'complete domination'...really the guy needs treatment - utterly delusional.
Charles I don’t know if it’s too early to say this, but if we do not win a trophy this year do you think it’s time to admit that Arteta is out of his depth and looking at who else can come in to take this project across the line? His stubbornness will be his downfall, it seems unbelievable that he is not seeing the same issues with the likes of Trossard as everyone else, and the management of Nwaneri will only hold for so long before he starts looking to go elsewhere too. Very worrying times.
Arteta replaced Ramsdale, for a slight improvement in Raya. The same standard needs to be applied to our Manager, Arteta has got us so far, but we need to improve.
Inter rested 4 of their starters yesterday.... After they took the lead, they were on cruise control in the second half. They sat back and absorbed the pressure. We never really looked a threat to score. Once again, not good enough.
Let us be honest, we’ve always been missing that one or two crucial pieces of the puzzle. This time, it’s a striker. Past seasons, it was either a 6 or some other player. If Arsenal had gone for a striker, we wouldn’t have left ourselves short. It’s going to be the same story at the end of the season.
Ethan i think off the ball work us getting better that's why he gets mins nore than sterling, which is why Emile was moved on great going forward but off the ball he couldn't sustain it the thing about arsenal is they're in the game for the most part just dont look like scoring when a team outs everyone behind the ball
I must admit I’ve always loved Martinelli however he has been largely ineffective and average for ages now. His level is not at the level needed to win big trophies right now. Is it his fault or Arteta’s, I’m not sure. Surely though it was worth bringing Sterling on. My biggest area where I’d like Arteta to improve is player management as you see some players confidence leave them. It’s evident in 3 or 4 of our players now.
We are so blunt up top. So frustrating that we did not sign a striker and attacking midfielder in the window. Not helped when watching Gyokeres get another hat trick. Merino is awful, showing why he failed in the Premier league 1st time around
Charles, is Arteta pissed at the current squad building like some of the fanbase are? My conspiracy theory about Edu leaving so incredibly suddenly at a random point in the season is that he persuaded Arteta to get rid of Smith-Rowe and Viera and sign Stirling when Arteta wasn’t sure about it. Thoughts?
The difference is Inter let us have the ball we didn’t dominate anything they knew we had no creativity and would struggle to break them down like we have for the last 10 games. It’s ok having 15 corners but we attempted the same one every time. Something has to change quickly we lack any ideas going forward to get into scoring chances.
Morning everyone, I’d like to see Ethan start instead of Trossard on Sunday .. then we can replace him like for like with Odegaard later on… think Rice will come in for Merino and the rest I’d keep the same, can’t have Zinchenko I’m afraid . I think we will get a result at the Bridge
What is costing arsenal is how much the game slows down when saka gets the ball and now teams are adopting to that and so he needs to change is way of offense sometimes
Trossard is not a #10. He just cannot create from that role. He and Martinelli are competition for that LW role. If Odegaard is out, Nwaneri should be used to be a creative spark in the middle. Merino is not there yet. Rice/Partey is what we need if Rice healthy. Both Saka and Martinelli suffering from lack of LB/RB engagement up front. They are both out there on an island getting double & triple teamed. That dynamic needs to go back to last year's tactics.
Well, that was... something. Arsenal's game against Inter had it all-except for fair refereeing! It was honestly one of the most baffling penalty decisions in recent memory. A clear case of ball to hand, but the ref must have been so starstruck by the Italians that he missed it completely. And VAR? Apparently, they were more focused on analyzing Milanese fashion than the game itself. And let’s not even start on the non-call for that tackle on Merino-more like an audition for a MMA match! Yet somehow, the officials let it slide. Arsenal were pressing hard, but when we finally reached the final third, it was as if the GPS suddenly lost signal. Sure, there was great buildup play, but that final pass? Clueless. Maybe it’s time to simplify things in front of goal. Sometimes the best approach is to go direct, make it unpredictable, and stop trying to walk the ball into the net. A bit more grit and a little less art might just be the change Arsenal needs.
Teams have found a way to set up against Arsenal now. The matches we have lost so far are matches any team can experience. Most of our difficult epl matches are early in the season. City away, Spurs away, Newcastle away, Chelsea away. We have also played our buggy teams such as Liverpool and Brighton We will be good
Watching Arsenal's build up recently has been frustrating. Our transitions are simply far too slow, we can be in an advantageous position let's say 1v1 on the wing and 2 (atkers) vs 3 (defs) in the box. Rather than being aggressive and putting in the ball, it's usually about 6 touches before a decision is made and by then the other team as recovered then we end up going backwards. In addition to that, it feels like we wait for players to be in a position before playing it rather than playing the ball into the space the player is looking to occupy in order to move the ball faster. Far too slow.
We lack enough firepower upfront. I don’t think Martinelli is class enough, sorry. Arteta has also been too defensive with his starting midfield. Nwaneri should be starting.
Referee looked insecure with all those decisions. Trossard and Haevertz played everywhere but as a strikers. Merino is trying to keep up with the pace as AM, but he is lost. He should play his natural position. He is a great player, otherwise he wouldn't play for Spain. But Arteta is overcomplicating with Party, Merino, Trossard and Haevertz...
truth is, Arteta tells his players to cheat (dark arts), just like every other top euro team as its unfortunately a handicap being honest in the modern game, that has consequences!… we are not good enough at it, MOST (not every) decision against us has been self inflicted, giving the refs a chance in the first place to hurt us and build a reputation. I still feel these players do exactly (only) what Arteta says, we need more creativity and character on the pitch to be less predictable, I could tell you now exactly how were gonna try to score with my eyes shut and so could you! Players like Trossard, Nwaneri, Odegaard, havertz are the only unpredictable players in the squad, even they get predictable, you can see the process over and over and over again! We are not out of the title race yet, we’re gonna have to have a very merry xmas to be back in it but it’s not over yet.
@@whatevername8551 well yeah bro, banging on about it doesnt fix it, its still an issue, many of our losses this season have been a result of poor execution of the dark arts so yh... near enough 10 points, also some of these boys have played a lot of football in recent years with england and our domestic league, im thinking Rice, Saka, Martinelli, a lot of pain, mental fatigue is also a thing bro? we'll turn it around though, this is our enevitable bad patch, can't always be rosey, we've had 2 worldie of a seasons past
If you're Inter and you get lucky not to concede a PK by GK punch to head and then get a lucky PK from a handball all while being dominated in the game, they would be thinking more defensively which makes it tougher for Arsenal to score. On another night, Arsenal get the PK call and go up 1 - 0, Inter don't get the PK call and Arsenal ride out the game and expose Inter when they become expansive.
really charles we not gonna call out the abysmal tactics for starting trossard in midfield again??? maybe arterta is the problem cuz us arsenal fans can see it except our stubborn manager. What about merino losing all his duels in the first half except one when the ball is in the air.
Just say it like it is Charles, we’re garbage at the moment and something needs to change. Inter let us have the ball let’s not push this false narrative that we “dominated” inter, we absolutely did not.
I've said this before and I still feel the same but I feel that in my opinion the training sessions maybe to intense as most of the new signings always say, and this could be the reason for that missing spark. What is your thoughts on this ? Love listening to your views keep it up.
Lose on Sunday could be 10 pts behind liverpool. Season truly over. Once again the summer window was embarrassing did no one question Mikel and go okay so your letting ESR and Fabio leave so what happens if Odegaard gets injured? whats the rotation for Saka? Its starting to feel abit Wenger in where no one at the club is asking questions. When the forward options were soo bad did we really need to spend £40m on a LB/CB when you already spent £50m odd million on two players in the last 2 years. I like Calafiori but was it a must when you look at the lack of quality in the attacking areas. 25/26 will be pressure like Arteta has never seen. The media are waiting, you can see the disgruntlement with the fans is slowly growing more and more because of the turgid negative football. This could unravel very quickly. Big game Sunday. For Arteta more than anyone.
This horse shoe passing left to right is the most frustrating thing to watch. Why do none of our players ever play direct forward passes to break the lines? Feels like Arteta still doesn't trust anyone outside the starting 11, our squad depth is and always has been an issue.
I like havertz and apprecaite what he brings but the longer things go on the more it seems like havertz is the sword mikel has thwon himself on, theres a strong argument that playing him in midfield at the start of last season cost us points, that could of been enough to win the league, 15 mil more would of got you a gyokeres or isaak also, sociedad only wanted 70mil euros for isaak when he left thats less than kai.
🔴 Every full back is a risk against direct wingers. We concede regardless which makes it worse as we currently have full backs who are actually centre backs and offer very little going forward. At least we create something with zinchenko, which we do not do with timber. Timber is an asset for sure but not every game he is needed. Our current struggles revolve around creativity so use Zinchenko. People are over looking his qualities and focusing too much on what he is not good at rather than what he is good at. Meeino needs to sit on the bench until he understands how the team play. He has slowed our game down. He needs to earn his spot. Nwaneri needs to start now. Trossard has been poor, and needs to be taken out of the team. 🔴
Trossard has always been most effective coming off the bench
At this point Ethan Nwaneri is our most dangerous player and deserves a start
So refreshing to listen to a level headed intelligent Arsenal video without the usual moronic over reaction and abuse. I can’t listen to most Arsenal channels, it’s embarrassing.

Good afternoon Charles,
Trossard plays well when we bring him on as a sub.
I also miss the days when teams were worse at playing football, yeah
COYG
Doing the same thing and expecting a different result = insanity
That's what I keep saying. Arteta is southgate 2 so afraid to lose that he forgets the game is about winning...duur. Wrong man for the job
Some statements don't make sense in real life 😂😂 The great Sir Alex Ferguson took 4 years without a single trophy but the patience of hierarchy paid off afterwards.
@@lnspectormukfai8291 I'll have a bet with you that that never happens with Southartetagate...not in a million years
@gspianoguitar4369 Southgate can win league cups but not tournaments that's according to my observations
3:00 ALL forwards played deeper. Haverts was playing like a DM most of the game.
Injuries and suspension may have had something to do with that I suppose?
The Havertz - Trossard pairing is not working.
Havertz is wasted playing deeper and Trossard is ineffectual.
i disagree trossard and kai pair works.
What u fans dont understand is martinelli is there
You cant have an arsenal team with both martinelli, trossard in midfield and kai as CF.
Kai can play CF or Midfield, the problem arises is when trossard plays midfield and doesnt know where the spaces are in
the field against a low block simply because martinelli and kai is taking up those spaces. Its either u drop martinelli or trossard.
At the moment u have dumb fans putting the blame on trossard who is just not an odegard but we have a Bastard manager who thinks so
IMO thats a sackable offence cuz if u dun believe me go watch how arsenal played against fulham at craven cottage when trossard played midfield
This is not the first time Arterta F up his tactics repeatedly, he may do deserve the sacking after all
and lets not forget how defensive minded this manager is when mikel merino losing ALL his ground duels, Arterta has no clue where the balance in the team
is and doesnt know how to create the strength and dynamism in the team. Against chelsea watch arterta realise hes been stupid all along
and dump trossard for odegard cuz he got desperate.
@@GenericMedusa99Trossard is the obvious issue in tye current setup
Nwaneri should have got a lot more minutes as he makes things happen, he's one of the creative players we need on the pitch.
Liverpool will lose games. I'm sure of it
How in Europe is that not a penalty?
Jesus against Chelsea had a similar incident where PGMOL apologies to Arsenal!
So Charles, you're saying our failure ro score away from home is all on you? 🤣 In all seriousness, thank you for the video as always
Yeah if Liverpool win then we are a laughing stock… agree
It’s Liverpool to lose. If they don’t theyre bottlers 😂😂😂 wait they also did that last season too
Liverpool will win it. Dont be surprised. They made the change and were brave then us. City slowly will drop
I'm thinking a dubai trip is needed 😅
Keep up the good work 👍
Dennis
This game reminded me a bit of the NLD earlier this season where Spurs dominated possession in the second half only because Arsenal allowed them to. That’s what happened here. After Inter got their goal they were more than happy to sit off and camp their tallest players in the box to head away any crosses. We didn’t look like we had any intention to score from anything other than crosses and set pieces. Personally, this performance did not give much hope after the Newcastle game.
Charles just a thought …. Are they so well coached that all individuality and therefore creativity has been stifled out of them ? Are they too scared to take a shot and miss ???
Arteta arrogance is exposing him this team needed a goal scorer for about 12 months now we can't even function without our captain
We don't need better performance we need results
While giving Nwaneri a shot against Chelsea seems like everyone's wish and seems unrealistic at the moment, i would like to give Sterling a shot in Trossard's role if Arteta is going to stick with the 442. He played as false 9 and central striker at Mancity before. I don't know how Sterling would cope with such changes but he has played there before and has different profile compared to Trossard. More fast and direct than Trossard so could make combination of big and small with Havertz.
Sterling is on Loan from Chelsea, so is ineligible!
We've been AWFUL for A long time now AWFUL
By the way, the stadium is only called San Siro when AC Milan is hosting; When it’s Inter, it’s called Meazza (meh-a-tsa)
COYG
Inexcusable for Arteta to keep Trossard on the pitch so long.
Lens: 2-1 loss
Sevilla: 2-1 win
PSV: 1-1 draw
Porto: 1-0 loss
Bayern: 1-0 loss
Atalanta: 0-0 draw
Inter: 1-0 loss.
7 UCL away games. 1 win, 2 draws, 4 defeats. 4 goals scored.
Arteta needs to be more brave and bold in these European away games. This isn’t a team that’s anywhere near ready to compete for the Champions League.
You know the seasons going well when it’s November and we’re talking about the transfer window
We played Inter Milan at San Giro in a champions league. 1 nil is not that disastrous. Even City and Real Madrid are not complaing.
Thoughts?
Let's admit it. Arsenal attack is just not it, especially when compared to those of Liverpool, Man city and even Chelsea. Only Saka probably survives.
It would be more worrying if we were been outplayed in these games we are dropping points, the boys will bounce back.
We need more defenders and defensive players at Arsenal. We concede too many goals and don’t dictate the play.
How does Havertz keep getting away with his performances? Martinelli and Trossard have been poor too but Havertz is woeful!!
I really want to see Nwaneri and Martin together and rice behind them.. i want to see those technicians play together.
We have also played our buggy teams such as Liverpool and Brighton
We will be good
Make Arsenal Great Again
They still are great my friend, just a bad patch.
@frank290862 no trophies in 4 years is more then a bad patch my friend
Watching Arsenal's build up recently has been frustrating. Our transitions are simply far too slow, we can be in an advantageous position let's say 1v1 on the wing and 2 (atkers) vs 3 (defs) in the box. Rather than being aggressive and putting in the ball, it's usually about 6 touches before a decision is made and by then the other team as recovered then we end up going backwards. In addition to that, it feels like we wait for players to be in a position before playing it rather than playing the ball into the space the player is looking to occupy in order to move the ball faster. Far too slow.
our lack of attack is abismal, most goals from corners, it makes no sense.
Cmon we know arteta is chewing em out behind the scenes too😭
Something needs to change, we cant keep doing the same thing and expecting different results
What does it say about Sterling that Arteta never brings him on.....
I understand why edu left now
Not expecting anything this weekend or this season. Finished nada
🙄
truth is, Arteta tells his players to cheat (dark arts), just like every other top euro team as its unfortunately a handicap being honest in the modern game, that has consequences!… we are not good enough at it, MOST (not every) decision against us has been self inflicted, giving the refs a chance in the first place to hurt us and build a reputation.
Are you seriously banging the "dark arts" drum still? Let it go, bro
In the prem they are definitely giving it as a pen as well
HIGH WATTAGE ⚡⚡⚡
Oh god,not this same old cringey like-wh0r¡ng comment again.
Any thought on the game last night, or no? Just fishing for likes and that’s it?
Should Artera start both Nwaneri and ødegaard?
pls pls STOP blaming refs and VAR - no more excuses. Charles thinks we played good but he forgot that Inter Millan rested most of their players
Charles, they sat back and let us attack, mate. we didn't dominate them they were happy just sat and doubling up on our wingers. we got schooled
When last did we watch an Arsenal game where the team created 3 chances that led to a shot on goal?
Arsenal need a focal point up front.
"My captors are treating me well, the food is good" 😉 Don't worry Charles, we're sending help....
Isra😢 hostage??
We weren’t winning any duels in the Inter box
Charlie please stop going to Euro away games and we might just win again.
😂😂
Waiting for the next round of injuries after the international break
