It's early but I have the feeling Spain might have one of the best live performances again this year. Her vocals, her movement, the dancers. So far this is my winner
Let's analyze this. She got 94 out of 96 points from the juries (seven 12s and a 10) and won the televote by far. Blanca was nobody's favourite before her semi, but that staging left everyone in awe. She became an instant winner. I knew it had potential when I first listened to it, but not at this capacity. The people who didn't want her to win say Europe's not gonna understand flamenco but 5 members of the jury were international with only 3 Spaniards. I'm really happy you can appreciate this act, Alesia. It's not just flamenco. It's a mesmerizing experience. You've got quite the taste.
I think it's more about the televoting, people in Europe don't seem to understand flamenco very well, judging by how so many flamenco performers ended up close to last along the years.
The people who say it's not going to win is because we're too far out from the contest and people call this stuff way too early. It's obviously incredibly impressive vocally, but we need to stop hating on people who have doubts about a song like Eaea doing well, it's not being culturally insensitive, it's just because for every In Corpore Sano there's a Telemoveis. This song is huge but it's also incredibly challenging, it's not a song you enjoy but you experience.
We are living the Spanish renaissance at Eurovision and I never believed it would’ve been a reality, yet here we are. So proud to see them pick THIS!!! 😭❤️
Now we are proud spanish eurofans! Hahahaha I can’t believe neither this is happening but this is our reality now and maybe people can’t understand how satisfying and emotional this is for us. Quality check ✅ Serving passion ❤️ Let’s enjoy the new spanish era at Eurovision Song Contest! ✨
@@ivanpuntoeme Well you should be proud. The singer has fantastic vocals and the song is strong. Maybe ethnic music is not to everyone"s liking but still this should do very well but winning??? I have my doubts and this is not because the song is not good. This is all to do with politics. Last year the ESC was robbed by Ukraine. That was understandable under the situation. I don't think any song will top this for me at eurovision 2023. It's mesmerising and powerful, hypnotic and emotional, passionate and artistic. It is perfect in my opinion. Vamos Spain. Vamos Blanca ❤️😍. Love from 🇮🇪 ❤️🥰😍
Blanca Paloma is giving Spain 🇪🇸 what they’re looking for over 60 years since their last victory . I won’t be mad if she wins the whole game because she’s head-to-toe perfection ! Love from France 🇫🇷
I really think they need to have captions on for this song too because the poem that makes up the lyrics is so touching and will resonate with so many people, especially after these last few years of hardship and loss. The more I watch this performance, the more I want it to succeed. This performance is art.
I am really glad Spain is bringing up something like this! It is great and highlighting their musical tradition. That live performance was stupendous. This country really upped their game last year and are continuing to do so now!
This song really has Spain written all over it. Personally when I think of Spain, I think of this kinda music. I know Spanish music is not just flamenco but it's a sound special to that region. Paloma managed to modernize a very traditional package here.
If Spain wins again, it HAS to be with an entry like this! The cultural Flamenco feel with folkloric lyricism (really reminds me of that scene in Volver where Penelope Cruz sings), the vocal, the presence, the staging! This is the complete package!
I am dutch and know what you have been through when it comes to eurovision. I am very impressed again with Spain this year! Good luck! May the victory come to your country! If it is not this year it will come within the next five years for sure :D
That zenith angle where you can see the white circle symbolizing the moon that is transformed into an eye, the eye that watches the child from the moon. This moment is perfectly accompanied by the lyrics of the song, it is what he is singing. It is magical, elegant, artistic, modern and impressive. Class.
I’m so happy for Blanca! I totally agree with you when you said “this is why I see Eurovision”. This is culture, is talent, is music, is attitude and this is a song that only Spain can deliver and VERY WELL!!!! This Benidorm final was amazing!
The song, Blanca Paloma, the staging… the whole package is perfection!!! This is what I expect from a country that wants to WIN Eurovision. The performance made me shed a tear. We might be going to Spain in 2024.
Rewatching this performance through Alesia’s lenses is quite the experience! It’s a bit of a gamble but I don’t see how this could not win Eurovision, literal ART!
I love that Spain are in their powerhouse era now. Two years of Benidorm fest and they just know what they’re doing. Chanel and Blanca are phenomenal entries irrespective of result🫶🏻
It's like the power of Barbara Pravi and Kateryna Pavlenko (Go_A) combined in one person. Imagine the level of excellence 🤌🏻 their best option, Megara was the second, every other contestant was not even close of a top 10, even though i love Nochentera, Quiero y Duelo and Mi familia as songs. Congrats Spain 🇪🇸
@@lorenzoprivrat8431 and why not ? I can share an opinion as long as it stays respectful. I notice both songs have a strong ethnic background, electro influences and Kate/Blanca have something mesmerizing when they perform. But well, seems like you don't like EaEa and you feel the need to express it whatever the comment is about.
There has been 4 songs that have given me body chills from the word go. This song Voila Slo mo Grande amore If this doesn’t win, it will be a shame to the contest. Everything here we’re seeing is epitome of professionalism, natural talent, thought, strength. I’m dying for Spain to win.
Blanca will win ESC with this, its incredible, the jury vote will be huge,i suspect 12s and 10s across the board and people will be surprised by how good a televote she gets,4th place in the tele will secure the victory because the likely top 3 televote songs wont top 4 the jury, nowhere near.Imagine this with the LED floor etc and lighting in Liverpool,it will create a massive emotional moment.EBU would love a Spanish win and will do everything to help,no headaches next year with a big 5 winning. The contest itself would be boosted by such a winner as well, fusion of culture with a modern twist.Cream floats to the top and the quality here is obvious. What an entry.
Yup! This is the best song (and nevermind vocals) selected so far. If Blanca is able to hypnotize the Eurovision viewers the same way she hypnotized the international jurors and televoters in Spain, this can go really far. She does not have to change a single thing with the staging. Potential winner material right here!
Love your review ! What an absolute MOMENT! the realness of her performance is so grounding yet so otherworldly in the same time ! The camera work offers moments of pure strength and awe, the staging and lighting creates geometrical shapes of circles and so interesting formations with all 6 performers of high cultural and artistic value. Love the backing music and vocals - along with her incredible voice offer a haunting atmosphere - the moment where she throws an arrow with her hands just before the grand finale gave me shivers ! SPAIN maintained the already high stakes from last year to a potential 3rd win for 2023 🇪🇸 🇬🇷!!!
This really had the Chanel effect: a song which was somewhat below my radar, and totally exploded on screen when I saw it in the semi. It's jaw-droppingly good. I'm over the moon that Spain has picked this, something this fantastic while they had such a tough act to follow.
Alesia, you’re lovely, you really are…. And your smile is gorgeous… I am from Spain, and I’m so happy to see that someone from the States has got it, has understood and captured the magic of Blanca’s mesmerising song. But I must tell you that despite you getting the song, picking up the feeling and emotions that it transpires… you are missing a crucial part of it: its lyrics… they are really really beautiful. “Ea ea” is a very familiar Spanish expression used to calm down your baby, when they are to sleep or to stop crying… and when you see Blanca from above, surrounded by a white circle, that’s the moon… because she is singing this beautiful part: “my baby when I die, I want to be buried in the moon, to see you all nights, to see you all nights, all nights except one…” ☺️👍🏼
As I said to some other Spanish guy - Well you should be proud. The singer has fantastic vocals and the song is strong. Maybe ethnic music is not to everyone"s liking but still thus should do very well but winning??? I have my doubts and this is not because the song is not good. This is all to do with politics. This is art. It is transformative, and it's the daring, experimental, ground breaking entry we knew Spain could deliver. And, it has and we are eating good today! No crumbs. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
She started not being the favourite, but she actually delivered this BOP NEO FLAMENCO Rosalia vibes. Im so glad your joy about Blanca's performance. Thanks Alesia sweetie😘😘🥰
The song is a lullaby and it goes like: Hush, ea Hush, ea (Ole) Ay, come to me, my child (now) Ay, come to me, my child Sleep by my side For in my chest there's shelter Shelter for your sorrows Hush, eaea, hush, eaea Hush, eaea, hush, eaea Hush, eaea, hush, eaea Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights My child, when I die May they bury me in the moon So every night I can see you So every night I can see you Every night but one. (Ole) Ay, come to me, my child (ay, my child, my little thing) My lovely little thing For in the night they light me Your eyes like suns Ya, eaea, ya, eaea Ya, eaea, ya, eaea Ya, eaea, ya, eaea Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights My child, when I die May they bury me in the moon So every night I can see you So every night I can see you So every night I can see you My child, when I die May they bury me in the moon So every night I can see you Every night but one. Ya, eaea, ya, eaea Ya, eaea, ya, eaea Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights Hush, eaea, hush, eaea Hush, eaea, hush, eaea Hush, eaca, hush, eaea - - - - - The "every night but one" refers to the phase of the moon when it's not visible: the New Moon.
Also I would like to add the fact that "eaea" it's a sound that the spanish mothers tell to their babies when they're rocking them to sleep or comfort them, like a maternal singing that has the power to make all the pain go away :)
I couldnt agree more Alesia!! For me, this is also the song to dethrone, wasnt a song I would listen on spotify but the way she delivers live its mesmerizing. My number one BY FAR for now.
With Blanca, like with Konstrakta last year, we have an artist who is not only a singer and composer, but also a set/production designer (Konstrakta is an architect) and working with people to bring the whole package together. This feels like it could win, but I'm not letting myself think it will. It has winner quality, in a potentially similar vein to Jamala, but we'll need to see what else is around in a months time.
As a Spanish eurofan since 2016, seeing that my country passed from being flopping to slaying in 2022 and now sending such a great song... I'm so so happy. I really hope Europe embrace this song as they did last year.
Blanca Paloma scenographer extraordinaire bringing a Masterclass of thoughtful, intentional staging to Eurovision this year. I Live to see it. I'm so thrilled for her and for Spain. I really do hope that people get behind her in Liverpool because there really is something special about her entry that deserves to do well. So I have my fingers crossed!
Special is exactly the word I would use. Go on Spain, blowing my mind! I truly hope the televote will support this! Benidorm was truly amazing! I already have Vicco and Agoney on a loop
Spain is the moment! If they don’t win with this beat piece of art then what? What Europe asks from Spain ah? They were robbed last year for sure and still fighting for it even stronger… That’s perfection you totally right! Love your reactions🫶🏼
This year I do love the Spanish entry. Paloma is elegant, the song is ethnical and artsy, traditional and modern, and regardless if it will be on top or at the bottom of the board, Spain should be proud of it
This gives me the same feeling as when I first saw the staging for Barbara Pravi - Voilà in 2021. It’s so impressive and gives me goosebumps. Spain is definitely the one to beat 🇪🇸❤️
Nah, nothing to explain. It was incredible and that's it. I haven't watched the second semi so I only saw it last night and couldn't stop replaying it. My work is about 7 minutes from my building so I walked with my earphones in watching it on my phone. Two times. And that's how I got back home as well. I'm obsessed. I really fear that the ceiling in Liverpool is not high enough for the ''curtain''. That zoomed out shot was perfection and I need it in ESC! There are just a few tiny things I'd change. The third dancer needs to grow her hair out by May and have it straightened to match the other two. Yes, I'm serious. 😄The lighting at the beginning also needs to be tweaked because I only want to see the dancers' hands. I don't wanna see their faces behind the red wall. I'd also change that shot after the first long note 3/4 in and maybe even tweak the track. I'd shorten it so the audience's reaction serves as a buildup to a sound explosion. This one is gonna be tough to beat! I prefer Luke Black's song but we don't even know if it's gonna be selected and that staging would need to be perfection to top this. I hope Konstrakta really is involved as some people are making it out to be because strangely enough I want to have a year where I'm torn between multiple entries I'm passionate about for the first time!
I love this video Alessia. I'm so grateful for this reaction, as a Spanish person. Now, anytime anyone tells me that no one outside Spain can understand or feel this song, I'll show them this video. I'm aware we're taking a huge risk this year. I don't know whether we will get a good placing or flop really bad in Eurovision, but I'm very proud of our entry. This is a piece of art.
The thing is... without songs like this, what is Eurovision? I mean, yea, a music contest about countries but if all countries start to sound alike, using english, radiofriendly sounds, etc.. what's left? We (Spain) might not win but sending such a personal song to show (as many other countries use to every year) is what makes Eurovision special
About the "people who can't get it"... Dunno, I'm Spanish and have no clue of Slavic languages but they've been my faves many many years so... Everything is possible after all
When I watched the final and this came on it was like I was hypnotized. I couldnt move, I couldnt speak, almost felt like I couldnt breath, I was enthralled. I was literally just staring at my screen. This will be a moment, I can see this coming on like running order 18th in the Grand Finale and everyone is at home chit-chatting, drinking, eating. This comes on and every single person in the room just shuts up for 3 minutes mesmerized the whole time. Just... WOOOW
According to Blanca Paloma the meaning of her staging is: she starts the song from a familiar place, hands caressing her, the circle of strings is her comfort zone, her "shelter for your sorrows", as the song progresses she walks out from that familiar place, the song grows in intensity. When she does the archer move It means her, far from her comfort zone but looking back (to know where i do come from to know where i want to go, in her words). As the song progresses she gains confidence, she walks alone and in the end she stands proud always keeping her past, her inheritance, the women in their life (represented by the dancers) close by...
Thanks for your reaction! Yes, rather than a music track, It's a piece of "total art": lyrics, music and imaginery are deeply merged. When the Benifest songs were released, EaEa was the favourite for no one, though there was certain consensus that It had quality. But with the live performance, all the pieces got sense. The song is inspired in the flamenco lullabies that Blanca's grandmother sang her when she was a child- she transfered Blanca the like for flamenco. The red fringes of the imaginery are inspired in her shawl, very typical in the flamenco "bailaoras" outfit. It figures the embrace and security of the maternal love. Beyond this, the lyrics take many elements from Federico García Lorca's poetry, one of the most Notorious spanish poets in 20th century. Lorca took the popular Andalusian chants and mixed It with Surrealism. The result was a very emotive, "simple", popular like poetry with modern, enigmatic and tragic undertones. He was homosexual and had progressive ideas, so one of his main topics was the sense of unsatisfied vital drives, persecution, and premature death- tragically, he was killed in the civil war by firing Squad, and his body has never been found. The music, the stage performance, translates very well that Lorca essence, the popular vibes with that haunting electronic Beats and those minimalistic, enigmatic and powerfull images. The lyrics tell the story of a mother singing her baby she wants to be buried in the Moon after her death, in order to look after them since there. Very emotive, simple and tragic -the sense of death and love, Lorca style. And perfectly reflected in the image of the zenital angle.
Not related to this topic at all but I just wanted to thank you for all the work that you do, for your passion when it comes to eurovision, for being objective but most of all for your kindness. From what I've seen, you've never been disrespectful towards any entry unlike some popular yt channels/esc fansites that are even more popular. We need more people like you Alesia ❤
AlessssiiiiaaaaaAAAAA!!!! We’ve done it agaaaaiiin! We’ve 👏🏻 done 👏🏻 it! 👏🏻 Spain has done it. I cant believe all those years of dissapointing, of frustration of seeing our country being a mess at Eurovision. And last year the miracle for us was materialized by Chanel and this year … we were not confident. We were not confident on be able of having something again that could excite people as we did it last year. But we have it. This for us means the world. Benidorm fest has come to stay and we are here to slay. Sh*t, I should have been born 10 years later loool The new spanish generation of Eurofans will be prouder and happier than we have been.
Totally agree your words. Tonight Blanca Paloma were Benidorm Fest winner's. Once year more, very proud of our selection. Grettings from Barcelona, Spain.🥰
I was expecting your reaction to this, it feels it comes from your honest and interesting point of view. Blanca Paloma just gave Spain their best opportunity to win Eurovision. Everything about this is perfection like you said. Well done Spain, I really hope they win someday and if it’s with Blanca it makes sense.
Thanks Alesia. I appreciate your words after several years watching your vids. You are an expert and this year you are so excited with the Spanish entry that means really something. I hope voters appreciate the song and the creative performance as you do. Blanca Paloma is the creator of the staging as well. It's the perfect package to send to Liverpool.
Alesia was super excited with Chanel too. I can't forget her reactions to Chanel's rehearsals. That people gets this excited with Spain makes me so happy.
It was one of my favorites pre-show, but I'd never went out of my way to listen to it on Spotify playlist. It doesn't quite work for that. It's an artistic performance piece, not a radio/chart-friendy song. My winner based on streams alone would be Megara.
This definitely has some polarization potential in the same vein as 'Suus' for Albania in 2012, but that _did_ come 5th. This performance is so incredibly mesmerizing, traditional yet experimental at the same time.
I loved your emotional reaction. I am Spanish and not a fan of flamenco, but Blanca Paloma has an incredible voice and transmits a lot of energy, which almost makes me cry too. The staging is also magnificent, anyway I understand that there are people who do not like this song, it is not a song like most, it is somewhat strange even for many Spaniards. Hugs from Spain.
I absolutely adore Spain for sending an overall package that they love and appreciate instead of going for a 'eurovision entry' like Ireland and Belgium. This could honestly win or be last, I have no clue, but what I do know is that Spain should be very proud for selecting this. I don't think it's impossible for Spain to have Blanca Paloma near Massiel and Salome
Thanks for appreciating the art and creativeness placed on stage… As you said everything is intentional, symbolic, meaningful and has a purpose in harmony with the lyrics and voice which results captivating. I hope you have a look to the lyrics too so you understand even better all the camera angles, movements and details. Like the white circle on the floor represents the moon and you look at her from above like if you are seeing her in the moon, she is saying at that moment she wants to be buried in the moon the day she dies so she can watch over her son every single night except one (when it’s new moon), so the camera angle transforms you into the son and you are looking at her up in the moon… Also her costume and outfit motives represent a warrior which translates into the love and passion of a mother to protect and defend her child with her hair tied back ready to fight, therefore the emotion put into her voice and song, and she makes the movement of an archer with a bow which is another detail of power and warrior. The dancers move their arms together like carrying and cradling a baby during chorus when they say “eaea”, which is a word some mothers say (specially culturally in the south region) to calm their babies down when cradling them in their arms. Their extravagant dancing is meant to be mystical so it represents they entered into a trance mode because the whole dance and backup voices are meant like if it was kind of an ethnic moon ritual to summon ancestors with a flamenco style print. There are so many layers and details to this performance which as you said are intentional and all scenes work all together so well, linked in harmony to the narrative with a mysterious touch that it never gets boring and keeps you hooked. Once again thanks for your reaction and appreciation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Alessia...I am so thrilled you want to interview Blanca in part to learn to sing EaEa. That is one of the biggest compliments you can give to another artist. It speaks volume of how committed you are to your craft, your devotion to the Eurofandom and your responsability as a fair and gracious critic to all contestants. Alessia, YOU rule!
Big Spain 🇪🇦 Blanca Paloma is amazing, la canción te atrapa, la performance y presencia escénica de ella es increíble posible winner Eurovisión 2023 !!!!
Thank you for your great review!! You are right with good staging is everything and Lo and behold you dont need alot of big LED screens for that. Just a curtain, some smoke, vision, creativity, good camerawork, sound/vocals and engaged artists.
The lyrics are actually an expression of a grandmother's deep and fierce kind of love for her grandchild, expressed in a very poetic way. Blanca Paloma wrote it herself in honour of her deceased grandmother and the lineage of women in her family. And yes the red curtain is inspired by the fringes of the red shawl her grandma used to wear (a traditional Spanish "mantón de manila") and the circle of white light on the floor is clearly the full moon as you will understand by the lyrics. Blanca Paloma worked as a stage designer before and designed the staging herself. In the song, the grandmother is talking directly to the child and saying things like: "Come to me, my child. come and sleep next to me, I'll keep you warm" "My baby when I die may they bury me in the moon so every night I can see you" "Come to me my child, my little one, my love... at night, your eyes like suns shine light on me".
Spain is bringing culture this year! It's too early to tell but I can see the potential of Spain winning. I'll just wait until the final song has been submitted for me to consider that this is a winning song. But for now, estoy viendo a esta chica levantarse!
There is an expression now in Spain coming from a hit TV show (Paquita Salas) about a "360 artist", meaning artists that have multiple talent in all the fields. Last year Chanel was introduced in Benidorm Fest as a 360 artist. Singing and dancing combined with top professional skills in both fields. Blanca is also a 360 artist with her vocal and stage design skills, she owns the song, the perfect singing and the visual concept. This is unbeatable. So glad to witness that.
She was in my top 3, but she was not my favourite to go to Eurovision. But finally won Benidorm Fest because she was the best. Her vocals are perfect, the stage, wow! Jury and televote voted to her because of her amazing perfomance. There are very cruel comments specially in Twitter because 40 years ago Spain sent flamenco and got 0 points. However, it is a different time, different singer, different staging... Blanca Paloma is great and real Spanish eurofans are truly proud of her, no matter the position in Eurovision. Thank you Alesia for your opinion. You have a new follower from Spain.
i'm totally agree with you, this song is delivered perfectly and i hope it will be voted by the jury and televote as well, i was speechless when she finished, there's a lot of song still remaining to be chosen, but this is pure art. i really love it
I think you are right that at this moment Spain is the one to beat. I also agree that there maybe parts of Europe that don't get it. Blanca's is a mesmerizing performance and of very high quality. Let us wait and see what the other countries bring to us! Thank you for your comments.
This reaction was incredible to watch Alesia 🇪🇸❤️👏👏. Yes, there's something so special about the song. I can't get the chorus of Blanca's song out of my head. I even woke up this morning and my mind was like "eaea" 😅. To be honest, I didn't get the song at first at all but after the live performance I was amazed. So, Go Blanca!!
I loved Blanca last year, and love her this year even more!!!... The truth is that I liked last year's song better but his year's song allows her to showcase her talent even more...
Love your sincere reaction to my country's song. I would love it if the message of the song could be widely understood by audiences in other countries. Basically, the song is a sort of lullaby where she narrates a love beyond death. The Moon, sisterhood, love, death... Maybe difficult to understand but is better to just try to feel it rather than understand it.
It's early but I have the feeling Spain might have one of the best live performances again this year. Her vocals, her movement, the dancers. So far this is my winner

I already have my winner this year, honestly I don't even have to listen to the remaining songs! Go Blanca!
Gracias 💕
My favorite so far, love from sweden
It's like the power of Barbara Pravi and Kateryna Pavlenko (Go_A) combined in one person. Imagine the level of excellence 🤌🏻 their best option, Megara was the second, every other contestant was not even close of a top 10, even though i love Nochentera, Quiero y Duelo and Mi familia as songs. Congrats Spain 🇪🇸
Pls...u can't compare this to Go_A.
This song
Voila
Slo mo
Grande amore
If this doesn’t win, it will be a shame to the contest.
That's art, Spain should win! The song is a lullaby
I'm over the moon that Spain has picked this, something this fantastic while they had such a tough act to follow.
this is a masterpiece even if she doesnt win.....this is art....
The lyrics are incredibly beautiful
As I said to some other Spanish guy - Well you should be proud. The singer has fantastic vocals and the song is strong. Maybe ethnic music is not to everyone"s liking but still thus should do very well but winning??? I have my doubts and this is not because the song is not good. This is all to do with politics. Last year the ESC was robbed by Ukraine. That was understandable under the situation. But now other countries are picking up on politics. Croatia has a completely political song and it is already the favourite for the simple reason that it is political. This is completely unfair because according to the EBU rules no politics should be allowed and no country should use politics to gain points. If Croatia does win it will be because of such politics. I wonder how you do not write to EBU to complain and protest. If this is allowed to continue the ESC will become just a political play.
The song is a lullaby and it goes like:
Hush, ea
Hush, ea
(Ole)
Ay, come to me, my child (now)
Ay, come to me, my child
Sleep by my side
For in my chest there's shelter
Shelter for your sorrows
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
Every night but one.
(Ole)
Ay, come to me, my child (ay, my child, my little thing)
My lovely little thing
For in the night they light me
Your eyes like suns
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
Every night but one.
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaca, hush, eaea
- - - - -
The "every night but one" refers to the phase of the moon when it's not visible: the New Moon.
It has winner quality, in a potentially similar vein to Jamala, but we'll need to see what else is around in a months time.
this is one of the best live performances i’ve ever seen and the stage layout for eurovision will only make it better
Pack your bags, kids, cause we’re going to Spain in 2024!
Paloma is elegant, the song is ethnical and artsy, traditional and modern, and regardless if it will be on top or at the bottom of the board, Spain should be proud of it
As a French guy she reminds me a lot of Barbara Pravi Voilà France 2021. 12 points from France to Spain
This gives me the same feeling as when I first saw the staging for Barbara Pravi - Voilà in 2021. It’s so impressive and gives me goosebumps. Spain is definitely the one to beat 🇪🇸❤️
You can like it or not, but it is a unique moment and unquie moments make Eurovision. This will do very well ❤️🩹 good luck Spain🇪🇦
Agreed!
I can truly see her coming back for her winning encore with this in Liverpool & the crowd will roar ❤
People don't know shit about real art. This was a winner for me, I'm a new fan of Blanca !
yes, people saying this was rubbish are calling Finland or Croatia real art...
And perfectly reflected in the image of the zenital angle.
and no catchy music, or sexy pop choreography. just pure voices and rythm. pure & powerful
Thanks for your reaction!!! We r very happy and proud for our representant 😍✨🏆 we deserve the victory this year♥️
Not related to this topic at all but I just wanted to thank you for all the work that you do, for your passion when it comes to eurovision, for being objective but most of all for your kindness. From what I've seen, you've never been disrespectful towards any entry unlike some popular yt channels/esc fansites that are even more popular. We need more people like you Alesia ❤
I appreciate that!
My absolute favourite so far. So captivating and engaging. Emotive and ethnic. Love it. ❤️ 🇪🇸💃
Tears. Spain, thank you. Wow! Nothing else to say. 12th in odds? no!
Totally agree your words.
Tonight Blanca Paloma were Benidorm Fest winner's.
Once year more, very proud of our selection.
Grettings from Barcelona, Spain.🥰
That final 10 seconds and the cut to black, whew!! She will stay in my top 10 this year for sure
I love Norway but this should be the winner
We're so excited to show eurovision what flamenco is and it's so amazing to listen to her and the way she feels the song 💞
Thank you for your words. Your reaction was liked a lot here in Spain, since I bet on videos with better reactions. Greetings from Spain.💖🇪🇸😍
This is ART!
Very proud of Blanca, a true talent! ❤
Btw, it literally had the fewest Spotify streams amongst Benidorm finalists. Because it's a song that elevates to another level on stage.
It was one of my favorites pre-show, but I'd never went out of my way to listen to it on Spotify playlist. It doesn't quite work for that. It's an artistic performance piece, not a radio/chart-friendy song. My winner based on streams alone would be Megara.
She released the song like 2 or 3 days later than the other candidates.
Definately the winner! Unique, pure art!
Phenomenal performance. She was my winner last year and this year so I'm really happy she's taken it this time
This definitely has some polarization potential in the same vein as 'Suus' for Albania in 2012, but that _did_ come 5th.
That's how I feel, love the vocals, love the staging. Just can't get into the song.
@@sav0001 same, reminds me too much of Serbia 2022 (very risky). Anyway, good luck Spain! 🇷🇴💜🇪🇸
This is the best explanation of the concept I have read so far!! I couldn't add anything to that. Kudos to you
This is soooooo friggin good. If this doesn't win in Liverpool I'm going to break stuff.
This is just AMAZING. Sublime.
Spain winner. Eurovision 2023!!!❤❤👍👍
In the song, the grandmother is talking directly to the child and saying things like:
"Come to me, my child. come and sleep next to me, I'll keep you warm"
"My baby when I die may they bury me in the moon so every night I can see you"
"Come to me my child, my little one, my love... at night, your eyes like suns shine light on me".
Spain is bringing culture this year! It's too early to tell but I can see the potential of Spain winning. I'll just wait until the final song has been submitted for me to consider that this is a winning song. But for now, estoy viendo a esta chica levantarse!
I agree with all you said. Spain is slaying once again!!
Love your reaction!!!!!!! Thank you :)
Spain deserves to win Eurovision Song Contest this year 2023
I got goosebumps at least at three places while watching this
this review is also a perfection of a review. agree 100%. greetings from Slovenia.
OMG es espectacular, incleibre vocal, interpretación, sentimiento, Arte, Dios love 😍 Spain 🇪🇸 es mágica.
Alesia, don’t forget that the rest of the world can vote this time. The whole of Americas and the Philippines will back up Spain for sure!
I hope so
Please do. I am not even Spanish, but she deserves all the support 🙏🏻
She has the potential to win Eurovision. 🕊️🏹👏👏👏
As spanish, I am very proud of my countie´s song this year. Love from Spain 🥰
SPAIN finally found the recipe! this is their golden era!
So fun to watch this reaction after what happened in the Grand Final 😂
I loved Blanca last year, and love her this year even more!!!... The truth is that I liked last year's song better but his year's song allows her to showcase her talent even more...
Love your sincere reaction to my country's song. I would love it if the message of the song could be widely understood by audiences in other countries. Basically, the song is a sort of lullaby where she narrates a love beyond death. The Moon, sisterhood, love, death... Maybe difficult to understand but is better to just try to feel it rather than understand it.
