You have to work so hard to get a trip that still costs you money in some(or many) ways where you also have to work.

monat is my *favorite* MLM because no one in the actual company can agree on how to pronounce the name
In my mind, I always pronounce it as "moh-nit." Moh like mow the lawn, and nit like nitwit.
I’ve heard it’s meant to be Mo-Nate as in modern nature, but it’s such a fucking stupid name I don’t blame people for not agreeing over how to pronounce it
It’s either “monay” “mo- gnat” or “mo- Nate”😂
My husband is in high tech sales and when he hits 120% of his quota we get to go on crazy, amazing trips. We have been to Bali, Monte Carlo, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Spain. The presents we have received are crazy - go pro’s, under water cameras, Bose speakers, air pods, clothes, super nice bottles of alcohol. Then we get to go on excursions- we drove Ferrari’s in Monte Carlo, snorkeling in Maui, zip lining in Mexico, castle tours in Ireland. And the wild part- he works 9-5!!! Lol.
Also, he sells for a high tech company. These trips and bonuses do not require him to recruit other people to work in sales. He is an actual example of a successful sales position.
Now that's being appreciated.

When I travel with friends, we share a room. When I travel for work, I stay in my own room. I'd quit if they expected me to share a room with a stranger! That's inappropriate.

This dissing of the 9-5 corporate job cracks me up. The 9-5 I work? For a major telecommunications company… These Huns couldn’t do their “wifi, work from home job” without the CORPORATION I WORK FOR 9-5! My benefits are awesome as is the corporate culture. So Monat…. You need cell phone corporations to live your fabulous, luxurious life styles… hmmmmm…. 🤔 🤨
I work for an engineering consulting company. We literally make sure buildings, roads, bridges, etc. are all built and maintained to proper safety standards and built with the proper materials for the location they’re being built.
These people don’t think about life outside their own little bubble of knowledge. They don’t think about how the products they sell are manufactured by “9-5 corporate” workers. Or even the corporate workers who help run the companies they basically do free advertising for? It’s ridiculous and a very ignorant viewpoint of the world.
I work in a pub and have better benefits than these huns do.
At my corporate job, when we travel for conferences, we're not even allowed to share rooms. Everyone who goes gets their own room. I've gotten rooms at hotels with champagne service at check in. 😂 I don't understand why they brag about their rooms and "free" trips as if it doesn't happen in other industries and jobs..
Exactly, can you imagine the liability if something goes south in one of these rooms. Its also so tacky.
Never mind that they'd be a lot less stressed out, they'ed have more friends, and they'ed also have more hair if they just payed for the trip themselves and skipped that (legal pyramid scheme) MLM nonsense.

On top of that, the trips aren't truly "Free". They will get dinged the cost of the trip at tax time
This makes me love my job even more… as a flight attendant, I never feel like going on trips is the peak of success. I can do it whenever I want for low cost. Hawaii trips are my regular “day in the office” 😂 And I NEVER share a room!

Great video - I live for when you call people "dipshits." So (not so) fun story...I have been at a resort with a MLM conference...it was terrible! About ten years ago, I was running the Disney World marathon. An acquaintance asked if I wanted to share a room with her, since she was going to be at Disney World that same weekend. She was staying at The Swan, which was a big upgrade from where I was planning on staying for not that much more. I didn't think to ask why she was at Disney World. Looking back, I really wished I had. She was there for a Monavie convention. Monavie reps were everywhere. I was being recruited on the elevators, walking through the lobby, waiting for the shuttle, eating dinner in a very nice restaurant... For the marathon, it starts really early, so the race is done by the time the parks open. So it is 2a, I am walking through the lobby, and drunk Monavie reps are literally stepping in front of me to block my path to try to recruit me. Monavie had almost as many men as women, so it really wasn't cool when a drunk man in his 50s is blocking me from the exit. I just shot a look at the concierge, who came over and asked him to go back into the ballroom. I've been to fraternity parties less obnoxious than this weekend. Now when I travel, I check hotel calendars to ensure there are no conventions (especially MLM) at the hotel the same weekend I'm traveling. Never again do I want to be the same place as hundreds of MLMers.

They’re not even being paid for this trip that they basically paid for. If the company is requiring activities, a normal company pays for their time.
I had to go to a managers conference in my last career and they paid for flight (I drove though since it was less than five hours away), hotel, food, and paid us salary plus per diem like a normal company does. Plus, they gave us all these coffee makers that weren’t even on the market yet, and way better Swag than the Monat Huns got.
I get paid on vacation too...it's called earned PTO from my 8 to 5. I still get a paycheck deposited. I know not everyone gets PTO but mlms definitely don't.
So it sounded like she said that only 1200 people qualified for this trip
So out of the hundreds of thousands of distributors they apparently have ONLY 1200 hit even the lowest tier of those qualifications….
But tell us again how easy it is and how anyone can do it 👀
Before joining an MLM: I was constantly trading my time from money! Now I'm free!
After joining in MLM: you need to work work work! The money isn't going to come from anywhere. You need to be posting on the toilet! I never take a break!
These people act like taking a trip is something out of the ordinary lol I work my "normal" job and if I wanted to I could travel a few times a month. Obviously because of covid I haven't but this month I'm taking a trip one weekend and another one the next 😆 it's called working and managing your money right.
Yeah. And your work can also includes professional trips. I have visited Cyprus and Sweden, payed by my job. So I find this argument kind of funny 😁
When I was 19-25 I traveled all around the U.S.A. on my companies dime assisting with plastic surgery. They act like they’re the ONLY job in the world where you could travel. So dumb.

can’t forget the fact that they’re required to take the cheapest flight to the trip aka spirit airlines 😂
Often company adds money declared as "income" or "prize" to the contractors 1099 when they give them a trip. So the contractor pays taxes for the amount of the trip and it is often an inflated number. Meanwhile, the company labels the money in a way that they get tax deductions. And Monat probably paid less than an individual did if they paid for rooms in bulk.
That's sucks.
There is also the fact that since Monat reserved a lot of rooms, they definitely got a discount. It’s not problematic in itself, if another company organized an all expenses paid trip to a resort and booked half a hotel, they would get a lower price for rooms. But just throwing it out there, since it means Monat made even more money.
Rewatching this in April 2022 hits so different!! They were trying so hard to gas this trip up and these shitty goodie bags and a month later they completely left the company! Wild!

It's one thing to win a vacation by your company that you can do at your leisure but when you have to go with the other people from the company and attend company seminars, and things Just sounds dreadful to me. My company's 2019 Christmas party SLAPPED. It was held in a convention center, and literally had 6 different areas for different decades, and each area had food, music, and activities. And it was FREE.

My old school use to do it as a way for low income kids to be able to go on school trips. Your parents could just pay out of pocket but they would actually give us money. I would sell enough pizza every year that I would have like $300 in spending money too.

People complain about the oddest things. She's not wearing them as a fashion accessory🤦♀️ I need to wear glasses for distanced screens (meetings, classes, cinema). Honestly I should probably wear them anytime I'm on a screen. If someone complained about it, I don't think I could help but laugh. I quite like the reflection on her glasses- the colour is pretty to me. But if my ADHD kicks in, and I start zoning on it, I just listen to Isabella rather than watching her. It's that simpler.
Contact lenses are high maintenance. We rely on the good ol'trusted pair of glasses.

I’ve been binging your content on all these MLMs and realized I worked for a whole summer for an MLM. It was a little different though bc I found the job posting on Indeed and applied and set up an interview at the office they had. Obviously hind sight is 20/20 and now I’m realizing there were soooooo many red flags but the fact that they posed as a regular sales job through indeed and had an office and everything just goes to show the lengths people will go to to disguise themselves as an actual “sales” company 😳😳🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

All of this is super fake of course since they’re just trying to recruit you. So hun/babe is often thrown around to poke fun of them.

I tried to be nosey and snoop Dray’s page, I’m blocked. Lmao. I guess she goes through comments on anti-mlmers Instagrams and block people, so weird. I’ve never even had an interaction with her. ~Cult vibes~
The trips i went on with scentsy were all completely filled with breakout sessions twice a day, trainings in between and an awards show. There was only like an hour in between each thing. The last session of the day ended at 9 pm wherever we were too so the restaurants in the hotel were closed afterwards. It wasn't a vacation at all.
They like selling that you can work from anywhere because there are people like my boyfriend who ARE self-employed who often end up doing some work over vacation while also spending time with family and relaxing. But every cent he makes goes right into his business account, instead of there being some gatekeeper on his income.

When I was in younique during the qualifying period, you got the most points for selling "beauty boxes" aka kits, aka recruiting. 500 POINTS PER BOX!! OR for sales, $1=1 point. So there were people pushing nothing but the beauty box and recruiting like hell because one, that was the quickest way, and two, that's what CEOs and uplines wanted and pushed daily.
1. I’ve gotten to travel the world for my job giving presentations and lectures at conferences and universities, and it’s normal for the job to pay for everything.
2. I’ve never had to “qualify” in any other way than getting an invite or a paper accepted.
3. On work trips, I’m usually able to take some vacation time after my work was done. It’s really disturbing how they think vacation and working are supposed to be the same thing.
4. The vendor booths give out WAY better swag than was in that goodie bag, lol! My favorite swag (medical related conference) was a pill organizer from the local branch of the DEA 😂

Ok, so: i live in Poland - unfortunately one of the countries Monat has sunken it’s claws into (tho it’s not popular here at all, thank g.). Looking at all the qualifications, i got curious, because while they are massive for USA, the living costs in Poland are lower, so they would be absurd here. It appears as though the PV and GV are similar, except I HAVE NO IDEA WHICH CURRENCY THEY ARE IN. Because the bonuses and so on are in PLN, but i can’t find if 1PV is 1$ or 1€ or 1PLN and it is a big difference. Anyway, the most interesting thing for me was that they offered a trip to Dominican Republic this year. For three days. You know. From Poland, Europe. The flight is 11h (at minimum), so there and back it’s literally a day and night. Also, jet lag, because the time difference is quite big. Soooo, can someone explain why would they make it a 3 day trip? Either decide on at least a week or do it somewhere closer - Greece has a lot of islands, Spain as well, and the flight would take like 3h. Did they even think it through? Seriously, who came up with this…

I’ve ordered customized company items like what these people got in the DR trip goodie bags. It probably cost Monat $5 for each of those bags (at most), even including one of their products. So cheap.
