I was the same Lady vesperia, I was so so scared of any kind of spider, but after watching lots of tarantula videos including Kat I fell in love with them, I now own 2 tarantula's I've got over my fear. But the funny thing is I don't like the giant house spiders we get in the UK or the false window's we get over here. Strange I know bcoz I own Tarantula's and don't like house spiders, my cousin says I'm weird 😂🦋🇬🇧⚘
@tarantula mum I think it's because your tarantulas are in enclosures but the big house spiders here aren't and kind of just appear unexpectedly! My mum has been scared of bugs in general all her life but spiders freak her out the worst, she now has 4 tarantulas, a jumping and a velvet spider living in her house thanks to me 😂 She liked the GBB i had and her favourite atm is my juvenile G.pulchra, she's told me they don't freak her out coz she knows exactly where they are 😁

My first pet as a kid was a jumping spider we kept it for a few weeks on a ten gallon tank on the screened in front porch, my dad caught flies for it, we released it after some time where we found it. I have to say those are the cutest spider stuffed arachnids where ever did you find those ? :)

Kat you've changed my life. I have been deathly afraid of spiders. Through your videos I now capture and remove them from my house. Learning about them has helped so much with the fear. I ran into a huge wolf spider in my basement last week. I just let him/her be. They are too fast to catch! Lets just say I wIll wear closed toe shoes in the basement!!!
@@keilaheduvan2265 do keep in mind that if that spider was the same size or slightly larger than you, it would capture you and forcefully wrap you in webbing. Then consumer your insides while your struggling to escape. They have 0 respect for your life, so you aren't morally expected to care about theirs.

Hi Kat! I dropped the Pamphobeteus off at TWP :) A friend rescued a bunch of tarantulas and gave them to me, but I just didn’t have the room (or the experience for some of these) to keep them all long-term. Enjoy!! So excited you took this one.
Fun fact: I was too scared to rehouse this tarantula into a new enclosure because it totally lunged at the side of the tank when I first picked it up. As much as I wanted to keep it, that’s when I knew I didn’t have the guts to. One of the other T’s they gave me was a juvenile cobalt blue. Had NO idea. Rehoused the little guy and everything. Cool as a cucumber. The shopkeeper at TWP let me know it was a cobalt blue as I called it the “mystery tarantula.”
I know what you mean about spring tails. I use them in my indoor plants as they keep the fungi etc down. They keep the soil super clean but the lil buggers like to travel 😩 so make sure all your food etc is stored in sealed containers far away from the enclosures.
I am fascinated with Tarantulas and have been since a young age. At some point I remember you could go to the local pet store and purchase a Tarantula. You can't now, I live in the Boston area, but early to mid 80's you definitely could. Sadly I couldn't, my mom was having no part but I distinctly remember the colors and patterns. They were beautiful! As these are as well. So cool!
I just want to say to you, that though spiders are definitely not my go to... I love how much you obviously care, the amount of detail that you put into their enclosures is impressive. Thank you for your love of critters.

When I was young goth I also got a tarántula and named her Lobelia after a beautiful flower. I grew to love and appreciate her to the point I let her crawl on my face for an epic selfie I sent my mom. Which she said was funny (thought it was fake). Sadly she died after only owning her several months. I wish I had known about those little crawler bugs you used because I got the feeling it must have been an unclean aquarium. Was going through a dark time of my life and so I didnt take enough care of her as I should have. I felt so bad I buried her outside on the landlords lawn with a big stone as a grave marker. I even said a few words because I am passionate and weird like that. I also got a tattoo on my left arm to commerate her and the Spider Goddess Lloth from Forgoten Realms books. I hope you make a whole episode about springtails because w.t.f. are those little guysლ(ಠ_ಠ ლ)

I'm not a spider person (lifelong arachnophobe 😅), but I do like the care you take for your pets. Adding springtails, especially; they make wonderful little janitors to take care of decomposing organic matter in an enclosure or vivarium. Love the driftwood for Wednesday; it adds some nice structure for her to scaffold her nest off of, but she can't kill it, like a plant. Heavy webbers need faux plants, I would think~😂 I've had to clean out a tarantula enclosure _once_ in my life; never again. I was a nervous wreck for the rest of the day and a couple days afterwards, and she wasn't even snappy with me (rosy-knee). But with some boundaries in place? I could definitely tolerate a housemate/SO keeping one or two.

Velvets are beautiful and eerie with their 'human' eyes, lol. I like the cage better than the Primal Fear. As a disabled person, it looks like you can actually get your hand in there and that's my biggest issue. Thanks for all you videos!

It's a funny contrast to see a tarantula you have to carefully put a lil box over to move, then see a spider like Wednesday where you just work with stuff right next to them.
Such a better size for the 1st beauty and love the personalities. At 5 I developed a severe spider phobia when a wolf spider dropped on my neck. Now I'm 33 and as a Mom of 3 I spent the last few yrs working to not be afraid. I now relocate spiders and see their beauty amd purpose. I don't want them as pets but I have even picked up some from my dad's boat and moved them to safety by hand. Never thought I'd like spiders.

i really like the portia spider... such an interesting species. i live in california and we have black widows everywhere here. i still have a picture of me, while i had been drinking , i picked up a black widow for a minute lol she wasnt pregnant though so i knew she wasnt as aggressive
Noy handled enough. Treated like a collection. If you had pet spiders... They straight up chill on you, come to the cage walls when you enter the room and reach up to come out and hang out. No kicking. No problems.
I have always found spiders incredibly terrifying, but in my adult years, I have grown to appreciate their role in nature. I just wouldn't want them inside. But one spider has helped me through it all and that's the jumping spider. I can not see it other than cute. And it confuses my brain :p but thank you for making all these videos. It helps alot and also educate us fearful people who just need more understanding rather than fear. ^^
So glad I found your video not a fan of spiders but I do appreciate what they do I saw a small jumping spider inside and if I remember correctly it jumped right into my hand and I took it outside it was so cute reminded me of Lucas the spider
So… I used to really just HATE spiders. Then I met a guy with a sailboat-and spiders looooove sailboats. So many places to make webs! After spending so much time around them, watching them, I’ve grown to really love and appreciate spiders. I’ll never kill one again.

I absolutely love spiders and have been a tarantula owner. I live in Texas and run into jumpers all the time. Love them and their cute personalities.

So glad I found your video not a fan of spiders but I do appreciate what they do I saw a small jumping spider inside and if I remember correctly it jumped right into my hand and I took it outside it was so cute reminded me of Lucas the spider

So… I used to really just HATE spiders. Then I met a guy with a sailboat-and spiders looooove sailboats. So many places to make webs! After spending so much time around them, watching them, I’ve grown to really love and appreciate spiders. I’ll never kill one again.
