The master of the angle grinder strikes again - beautiful work as always. Really liked that idea of bending the metal with the press too instead of trying to do it in a vice!
Thanks Chris.. Since investing in the press, it's been fascinating just how many jobs you can do with it as well as pressing bearings in..
Very good job!!!
Del, now you have two damping systems? The original (four gourmets), plus two more in the triangle. Those in the triangle are not necessary, and on the contrary, perhaps the welding of two profiles is missing to prevent vibrations of the tin (even though it is thick). Two profiles that pass close to the screws that connect to the triangle, and go up. But maybe I'm wrong?
wow , awesome work brother !! the level of dedication to fabricate this mount was outstanding !!! great job !!! i like the idea of using the press to make those angles bends !!!!! keep up the great work !!! stay safe guys cheers from new york !!!! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Hiya Penny and Del - great video! Nice fab work with that panel, getting the clocks where they're nice and visible. I'm enjoying your progress - as always. Take care, dear friends. Be well and ride safe.
Thanks buddy👍, glad you're enjoying it, and as always, really appreciate you're kind support.. Take care too and have a great week aye!
Inyeresting start quoting Al Capone "Be the Wolf !". If you knew this already, apologies ..... BUT ...... Where do sell by dates come from ? The State of Illinois appealed for financial help for School milk. Al Capone chipped in $2 Million, this was enough for a lot of milk for a long time. His stipulation was that the milk had to have the bottled date on to avoid stale milk, which he was forced to drink when he was at school. Hence sell by dates were born. Interesting choice of hole punch :) 7.62 case ? Result, very neat. Lovely job, no change there :) Thanks :)
Yes mate, well recognised, it's a cut down 7.62 Nato round, as you probably know the narrow end is soft, but the outer tube is thicker and pretty stout, so parted it off on the lathe to make a perfect hole punch! ... Didn't know that about Al Capone, I guess most of today's generation wouldn't even know what school milk is!!
@@Moonfleet41 I came back in to change the details, but will leave it for someone to correct it. I believe the City of Chicago appealed for the milk money, not sure now. Sorry if I am wrong, but the jist is there. Al Capone started the sell by dates on perishable foods. Wierd huh ?!!
Another job well done. Love the casing punch too 👍🏻
Thanks buddy👍, hope you had a good Easter!
Nice work! Looks better and very sturdy!
Thanks mate! 👍
Brilliant job Del👍
Looks nice and aggressive from the 'cockpit' I would assume 👍
That tool for de-burring the holes is certainly handy 👍
Keep up the good stuff Del 'n' Pen 👍
Thanks Paul 👍, yes indeed, a manual de-burring blade is so useful, specially on sheet metal where a grinder can compromise the edge you've cut! Thanks for your support, D&Px
Nice work Del, but you already knew that. Fun little fabrication project for sure.
Thanks so much 👍, glad you enjoyed it!
Smashing job Del. Clocks look great in that position
Thanks Bob, seems like the natualr place for them.!
A job well done, on all fronts. Very satisfying to watch editing; a perfect blend of showing how much work is involved without making us tired just from watching the work, close-up and well lit details for those handy tips on little ways to speed a project right along without glossing over how much work IS involved, even in "small" projects, showing how much work it takes without the slightest feeling of "look how much WORK it takes!", which can be discouraging to those who may be on the fence with deciding if customizing really IS something they may or may not wish to become involved in. You don't attempt to make things look easy, but you never seem to be performing acts only possible to people who chant incantations while adding Eye of Newt to a bubbling cauldron at midnight.... I look forward to seeing the Busa's new face! For the time being, now you can see without leaning over the tank the precise ground and engine speed at which this angry beast decided to toss your bones off the back of that lovely new seat, if proper respect is not paid to that savage lady!
Tommy, you always make my day with your kind and wonderful, encouragement, it does take a fair old time to film anything for a video, far longer then it would to just get on with it.. and of course, post production takes even longer.. you get home, slot the cards into the editing suit, and 3 hours of raw footage pops up, much of it out of sync, and LOTS you don't need... but once it's all done and online, usually around midnight, there is an enourmous sense of acheivement, ... then you have to set to planning the next one and it all begins again.!! So thank you as always for making it all worth while.. Take care and stay safe.. D&Pxx
@@Moonfleet41 Giving well deserved credit is the easy part for us watchers. It only takes a moment to be kind enough to show appreciation, but much, much longer for you two to make such entertaining and helpful content. You two clearly take great pride in this work, both in front of, as well as behind the camera. It is only fitting that you both be acknowledged, even in such a small way as an honest, encouraging complimentary comment. I eagerly look forward to seeing what my friends have in store for me and everyone here who enjoys this channel... even your loyal trolls :)
Aren't you worried about the bracket and gauges whistling at speed? Because of the shape and position?
I have already said exactly that..!!!
@@Moonfleet41I already thought you planned that! lol
You needn't shout or disconsider me just because I missed the part were you said about the fairing. Thank you!
@@razvan-cristianlupu… no one perfect! I’m deaf and often times I missed the part when no captions for deaf 🤷🏼♂️
@@Goldwing1500riderI am not asking for perfection, just more consideration. If you are taking the time to answer a question, why not do it in a kind manner instead of the aggressive internet way?
Back in the day we used to raise the gauges on our Triumphs and BSA's similar......Nice job
Cool, thanks
Good job again pal, coat of paint and make it more wind friendly and it will work well
Great personalised work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Hi Del & Penny, hope all is well over your side, Excellent job mate, looks the business and that hole punch is very cool. Enjoy the last part of your week and take care. Cheers
Thanks mate 👍, glad you approve... it's my favourite past-time making odd items for the bike... a good chance to be creative! Still grey skies here, roll on summer! Have a great week, D&Px
Impressed with the hole punch substitute.
Nice work Del. 👏
Thats brilliant mate.
Excellent video as usual 😊
Thank you so much 😀
That's fantastic!
Thanks!
Excellent use of the shell case. (.357 Magnum if I'm not mistaken).
Not in this case, it's a bit of a disguise, it's actually a 7.62 Nato casing with the narrow tip machined off, makes a perfect hole punch as it's thicker than most rifle rounds and doeson't deform!
Nice, we are getting a break from winter in central Canada....my bike will be on the road this week after a looong winter. Cheers and thanks for the vid!
That's great news mate, I can't imagine what it's like being off the road 6mths of the year, have fun and ride safe!
Looks 👍, looks like pilot consoles, glad that’s not LIVE punch you’re using. Lol hardly wait for your windshield on it, see it looks.
Thanks mate, yes I think if that was a live round, it would have been a very different day lol
@@Moonfleet41… BIG TIME!! 😅
bloody nice job.
Quality video Del 😊
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Ahh so close, that bracket is beef, could lean it off a bit.
well smart that aint moving anytime soon.
Well, we all know that took a lot longer than the 9:40 video! Editing must have taken just as long if not longer. Doing the templates and having the right tools does make for a great outcome. Patience and skill my friend, works every time. Cheers
Thanks mate.. you're right, post production takes way longer then filming, and even answering the wonderful kind comments here is all part of that. Then there is the other end, which is planning, buying parts and materials in time for filming, and the overall managing of the project... but we love what we do and it's all part of it.. The kind and generous support we get makes it all worth while.
That bracket is beefy enough to fabricate a small nose cone / head light assembly like many of the super naked bikes out there. You'll be able to make this look better than them, I'm sure. 😉
Yeah, may do, done some laminating in the past, it's pretty expensive on materials, ill see how the budget goes, i can always tack it on at the end.
awesome as usual, ever thought about Powder Coating instead of painting, I just did my first powder coat yesterday and was very pleased if i must say so myself:)
Yes I have, many times mate, but it's yet more equipment to jam in to the already busy garage and one that would be very rarely used, so I've never justified the investment... you are right though, it's a great process!
Very nice !
A great bit of CAD, and execution of fabrication, love it
Thanks Tim, simple and effective aye mate.
Nice One Del ! The HayaBusa is coming along really well mate 👍
Cheers Paul, doesn't always go right, but it;'s a wondeful journey and we're enjoying every step.
Nice job
Thanks!
Sleeking help from the community!
2018 triumph street twin
I recently dropped my bike going around a corner. Bike slid (clutch side)and I rolled about 4 times 😅, rode back home in shame.
Assessed damage: a few scrapes here and there and the gear sifter peg was bent upwards.
A month later my bike wouldn’t shift to higher gears.
I noticed it when I was trying to go into 4th and it wouldn’t budge. Down shifted fine to 2nd. Tried upshift again and no luck. Down shifted again and now it’s stuck on 1st 😢
Sorry to hear about your drop, have you replaced the gear shifter? Could it be it's binding on the casing?
Lovely job Del/Penny
Thanks Gerard.!
After seeing it I thought it might look cool to integrate the headlight in to the front of the gauge cluster built off the bracket you made. Maybe a little aero dressing around it to hide the wires? Something sort of along the lines of the modern versions. Dunno, just a thought you might not have considered.
In this incarnation, I'm following the Speed Triple vibe, clocks mounted on the bars and twin headlights on a fixed mount... possibly with a similar small fly screen to cover the back of the clocks???... still lots of plans, just letting each facet eveolve one at a time!
Nice bit of fabrication there Dell 👍
Thanks mate👍
They should use bullets the way you do, mate. Much safer, better results. Like your new and seltmade cockpit positioning. Although the stock Suzuki Busa cluster is rather large accoring to today's taste. The faster you ride the easier reading them ;-) You can paint the parts at a later stage. Have a wonderful evening, Günter/Nürnberg
Yes, they are a little large, but great for instant information, and fit in withg the bike which has always been a bit of a bruiser..!
Gorgeous, Del! Fabrication is so satisfying, right?
It certainly is..!
A very nice bespoke bracket!
I made mine out of a bit of old scap I found in a celar at work.the grill from an expresso machine 😂 easier to bend with having no vice. Strengthening with some glassfibre .
Yours looks way better than mine.
Looking forward to more brilliant creations from the garage.
Mate, you HAVE to get a vice in your life.. they're dirt cheap and will make a world of difference once you have one.. Specially being into ratting with all the small things you'll modify and make...!
I like your idea of using a grill or expanded metal to form complex shapes, then cover them with fiberglass! That's very clever! I save the screens off old fans and any sheet metal from broken appliances that has vents or perforations. Then, when I need a louver, grill, or mesh in some project, I have a factory piece that I can patch in to my project and the ventilation looks perfect, since it was machine made and not a result of me, a drill, and a file. Thank you for the clever idea. I love your avatar, by the way :) Very timely for being so close to Easter, as well. He is Risen!
Thats great work as usual Del, but didnt you want some small Digital tach? I Think it world be neater than those huge clocks.
Had that on it in the past, and currently have a small KOSO on the Kawasaki..But Im an older generation mate.. i love proper analogue clocks..
Mint 👌👌👌
dashed fine Del..lol
Ha ha, i see what you did there mate..lol!
i have them clock faces, have you ever tested to see how accurate they are cheers, good job.
Driven electronically from a sonsor in the front sprocket, it's pretty much bang on.. ride past one of those speed readers in villages, and it reads about 2mph over.. (the right way round), it's the mechanical ones driven from the cable to the front wheel that are usually way out. !
The best home those gauges have ever had. No factory would ever build a bracket that stout. Love the improvised brake to get just the right angle on the bracket. Whoever came up with the "Mac Gyver" TV series must have been inspired by your videos. Props to Penny for getting all the great views while still staying clear of the grinding shrapnel. Veteran camera person there. No better way to spend part of a rainy afternoon than hanging out with D&P. 🙂 ❤👍👍
Thanks so much Rick, i think maybe McGyver was an influence here.. things like hydraulic presses have so many interesting uses, and the more i can find the more i can justify the investment lol... Thank you so much for your kind words as always, have a great week and stay safe buddy.. D&Pxx
Brilliant! This brings to mind the old addage, "I can do that." Sure, I can do it but the imagination and creativity that got you there is what many lack. Great job!
Thank you very much James, it is a straightforward process and pretty forgiving if you start with the cardboard... once you've finalised your design and a template, it's just a cut and shape process anyone can do!... once you start exploring work like this, you'll be surprised what you can do...
👌👌
Accelant job but why not use a kosso meter on it..the busa STD is to big on this street fighter project...😊
👍👍👍👍👍
That's a beautiful thing, great accurate result, really helps that the clocks are fairly shallow
but more to the point great vision in coming up with that design and fabrification Del, nice one !
Thank you very much, appreciate your kind words.
Nicely done Del 👌
Thanks mate👍, glad you enjoyed it !
Beefy!!! That ain't going nowhere!!
crackin job sir
Thanks Iain.
superb bit of fabrication and spot on camera work a1 plus
Thanks Allan.
Other good job sir 😮
Thank you.
Ah-so, 'Isambard Kingdom Clock-Mount' - A nice meaty dance-partner for those bar-end weights!
No 'white-lining' worries at speed either, the front tyre will now just 'powder' them off to both sides.
On the plus side, any pheasants meeting you head-on, will get more clang than Kryten in a brothel.
(Would you believe I haven't had any dinner yet? - 'tick bloody tock'. Have a great week people : )xx
Kryten? How wonderful to know you're a Red Dwarf fan... you'll be telling us you're a Python freak as well next!
