    This has to be one of the best ideas I have seen in a while. So simple. It makes totems more affordable, easier to transport, and it doesn't sacrifice strength!! This is the way I am going to go with my new set up. I just have to get some nice fixtures to put on top, and I'll be set. Thanks for the great idea from the UK. This is definitely a Golden Nugget!

    Great video Brian. I started doing this a couple of years ago. All I had was the ladder truss and I had a band ask me to do some vertical floor trussing for their stage show. After explaining that i didn't have any box truss, it hit me that i could do this and satisfy the client. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

    Thanks so much for the detail! I just received my totem truss package and you saved me a lot of frustration by pointing out that you have to realign the connectors.

    Can you provide a parts list and the best place to purchase said items?
    Don't make me think now...

    A while back I built a truss set up with 8" top cabs. It looks cool but I'm personally better off with self-powered speaker stands

    Could you use 2 base plates to connect the i beams and mount horizontally on crank stands?

    Brian, I built 2 totems like this but wanted to use a .5m box truss at the bottom of 2-2m I-beams. How can you connect I-Beams to box truss's??????? Without drilling! Is there a coupler that is adjustable?

    They could do a small tear of the posts from top to bottom (in principle are tubular) with the size of the cables that are commonly used, and two rubber strips on the inside, from top to bottom as well (it's not easy to explain) to hold the cables I'm not crazy :P i'm an electromechanical technician :) (sorry for the bad english )

    Brian, what is the inside dimension of the Global Truss F34 ladder trussing and square trussing? I understand the ladder trussing is open on one end so the dimension number is not limited. I am want to make sure my uplighting fixture will fit inside the truss on the base plate before I make the purchase.

    How do you hold the moving head to the plate?

  • @briansredd
    @briansredd  11 лет назад

    Looking it up myself. It should be about the same. If it's more, it isn't much more.

  • @briansredd
    @briansredd  11 лет назад

    Well, thoes nipples are solid so you can't pass cables thru without punching holes in the truss which weakens the truss

    Hope you are doing much better
    I had thoug of that long time ago... lol.. even using pipes.. space saver for a bit more of work and money... :( it should be cheaper... but produccion marketing.... :(
    One question.. do you know how to read tge global truss weigh chard.. it totally doesnt make any sence to me..... im builtding this Y shape structure about 6.5 m long esch seccion.. it hold up pretty good with no load but want to know if is safe and or its weigt capacity..

    • @nigel8649

      Chart? Sense? Production? Building? Weight? Thought? The? Just messin' with you bro...

  • @drumshith
    @drumshith 11 лет назад

    And if you have holes in your truss (or dents) it´s not legal to use. (weekness in the truss)
    Another ting to think about is that ladder truss do not have the same cap. as a box truss. (you can put as much weight on it.) BUT for this kind of use you are no way near a weight limit...

    Hey Brian or anyone can tell me if I can hang a TV and a moving head on the top??? I love this idea, I just need to know if it can handle a TV and moving head.

    • @nigel8649
      @nigel8649 9 лет назад

      Yes, you can mount an LED TV (I suggest not to use a Plasma TV because they are very heavy compared to LED) and a Moving Head on a single totem.
