    This is way too big of a trailer for our needs, but I can't help to LOVE THIS THING! Winnebago knocked it out of the park, I could just about care less about any other feature on this trailer after seeing how they included a DESK!!!! About frickin' time RV makers! (Yeah, I know others have done this...but Winnebago has done it best).
    The other thing I love the rear kitchen and breakfast bar....LOVE IT! I'd trade my house for one of these.
    Once again Uncle Josh, you have knocked it out of the park with your review.

    I love it. I wish it was shorter, but I love it. They got the idea! That desk just needs a preborred hole in the back and power supply built into the back both above and below the desk below the window rather than off to the side.

    Back in 2001 we had a Fleetwood Mallard 39D TT with an office in the front and super slide for the couch and dinette. It had a mid bathroom with a washer and dryer combo. Slide out for the bed and the rear wall was all closet. Had a built in 9 drawer dresser and rear entry door. We bought it to live in, not travel so rented space on private property. Best floor plan ever.

    Shorten this a bit, swap the fridge and stove location for better snacktastic availability, take out the extra theater seats leave the fold out couch and desk, add bedside power plugs and side open above bed cabinet doors making it 1/2 ton towable and this would be on the short list!!! Winnebago you are sooo close to what I want!!❤

    I have to agree with you on this one, they missed the mark on the bedroom big time. id personally add another slideout for the bedroom and make it east, west layout( its already lengthy and heavy) and have much more storage. This Rv has a very extended stay feeling, but lacks the necessities for it to be such.

      @cindyfavorite195 about the card games. I didn't mention it but I love dinettes for playing cards.

    • @cindyfavorite195
      @cindyfavorite195 Год назад +1

      @@60Airflyte I think I missed it, looks like the open area would be in for a card table, and in review of the floor plan, it seems a little overcrowded with cushy furniture. We have a bench couch and long table that stands where we need it and chairs.

    I'd like to see a short lip at the edge of the bar top overlooking the two living room seats. It's easy to imagine spills going forward and onto those seats. A short lip could help all by the most robust spills from becoming a waterfall over the edge and onto the seats in front.

  • @jimcurry5458
    @jimcurry5458 Год назад +1

    I don’t understand how anyone would use “road mode” in their buying decision. I’m now in my third travel trailer. We’ve stopped for lunch many times while on the road.
    If your slide is in the way of your refrigerator just push the button and open it. Yes, you can open the slide without putting down your stabilizer jacks and your trailer won’t tip over.
    Anyway, what’s the rush? Most times, we stop for lunch at a rest area. Find a spot to park, put the stabilizer jacks out, open the slides and chill out with sandwiches and cold drinks. Stretch your legs and walk the dogs.
    As far as sleeping goes, I think anyone who can afford this trailer and the 3/4 ton truck required to pull it can get a motel for the night.

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks for the reply and context. My take is is that you buy the trailer for the enjoyment you’ll get at the campsite. If you find one with the layout, features, specs and price that work then you’re all set. You adapt while on the road.
      Nice review, very informative and thorough.

    WOW! A DESK! And a well executed one! Not a shoe-horned after thought. There's a lot to like here. I really like it, the fridg, it looks like an arm can sneak in to get a beverage when on the road. Maybe make the desk a tad shorter and add a top to floor, 12-15” wide storage unit.

  • @MickPsyphon
    @MickPsyphon Год назад +2

    Wow! They've really put a lot if thought into tgis one. I'm impressed.
    The rear kitchen is done perfectly. Maybe offer a slightly larger refrigerator, as an optional upgrade. Not being able to get to it with the slide closed isn't s big deal. You could just as well pack a small cooler with food for tge road trip; and leave it un an accessible area.
    I like tge living area just tge way it is, too. If someone wants to get picky, maybe offer different colour tones throughout the RV (as an option). That desk is a great idea, too! There again, they might also offer an optional desk that can be adjusted for sitting, or standing at different heights. A lot of newer office buildings are equipped with those types of desks to encourage standing, rather than always sitting, but they're equally suited for either; and whether you're above average in height (like moi), normal or undertall, you can be comfortable working at that desk. 😋👍
    The sound dampening material is well thought out! I'm certain that it dampens the sound from the TV sufficiently to make a difference to anyone who might be sleeping in tge bedroom. With the TV mounted on that wall, the bathroom probably amplifies sound in a similar manner to putting a cup against the wall and placing your ear on tge bottom of tge cup.
    The bathroom is fine as it is. Spacious enough, without taking up too much of the living/sleeping spacing, while remaining functionally appropriate.
    The bedroom seems somewhat spartan, but I think it's a great start. I can't put my finger on any single point, but I think that they could offer optional choices/upgrades here. I would immediately go for the King mattress, which they already offer (I believe).
    Sunce they iffer solar, it would be worth maximizing the number of panels, because you'd want to keep those batteries fully charged. Every bit helps with all tge electronic devices we use these days.
    You're right about not wanting to tow this baby with a ½ ton. It would be swaying and fish tailing; and before you know it, the truck would end up being flipped over. A solid ¾ ton would be the minimum.
    I must say: I didn't expect Winnibago to come up with something like this. Well done! They need to keep this layout, moving forward; and simply fibd ways to improve it each year.

    My two cents: I’m not a fan of flip up counter top. It’s too bad they’re going in that direction.
    I’m also not a fan of high top bars, a table top bar would be better. I’m 5’3 and my legs dangle and then my legs go to sleep. Nobody wants their nerves to get pinched.
    The sharp corner cabinets at the edge of the bed is just a bad idea.

    great floor plan. dont see anything i would change in any way off hand.... does not need an outside kitchen with the door right there, grill right outside the door. almost like having a front and back covered porch with slide between the awnings and doors, 2 different areas to hang outside. is a bit big to travel with for my preferances i think, but no worse than any other larger unit or toy hauler especially.... given a suitable truck.... travel access, ya ok kinda sucks, but... nothing can do about it.... can still sleep and heat up something, shower etc. just may need a small portable fridge or ice chest to solve that issue, toss in outside storage until get where can access the main fridge.

    The sound dampening behidng the TV will help absorb the sound from the TV so it does not reflect back.. The sound from the TV is projected out in all directions, and sound will "bounce" off the back wall, and when you hear that echo (aprx .01 seconds after the "orgianal sound") it won't be too noticeable, it will just sound like the TV has bad speakers. But too the trained ear we know it as reverb

    Nice unit. I can see myself potentially buying this. Yes the kitchen cabinets squared off would make for more storage, but with this cool looking design I’m not sure it’s needed. I would however recommend a larger rear bumper so that you have a bigger step to step up onto the first ladder rung, plus I would mount the spare tire on it. Another great video Josh.

    Solitude 390RK is a similar layout that also offers an optional desk in the door side living room slide.

      Kinda what this was going to be originally
      It was supposed to be a FW. but they ended FW production
      They liked the layout so much they kept it

      @@JoshtheRVNerd it’s a great layout. I’m not generally a 5th wheel person but the 390RK just offers so much with that elevated rear kitchen. I look at it an think it could be the perfect camper for when our kids are teens and we are starting to think about retirement and spending serious time on the road while they are in college.
      This one is similar and for a couple that’s on their own and needing a mobile office or with older kids that will soon be out of the house there is a LOT to like.

    I think they absolutely nailed it with the desk in the camp-side slide! I do a live internet radio show two nights a week and I would LOVE to be able to do it from that desk. That layout in general rocks... although I'm wondering if they couldn't swap the stove/oven and fridge, making the fridge accessible in road mode.. don't know how doable that would be without totally reworking cabinet layout completely in the kitchen... food for thought though?

    Id like to see more storage, especially in the bedroom! Winnebago just hasnt done right for the bedroom, where do you put your folded clothes? And it needs a pantry in kitchen.

    As big as that trailer is, I wish I had a bigger, tail lights and it would’ve been really nice if they could have slid a camp kitchen out from underneath the kitchen cabinets

    I'm always a little perplexed by travel trailers this long as opposed to just getting a fifth wheel, but I do love a big rear kitchen. It's a cool floorplan.

      That's easy.. height is lower than worrying about getting under bridges with a 5th wheel. But the biggest thing is the weight, this at only 10K is way less than something else in this floorplan where it's coming in at an easy 14K plus another 3K in weight putting you at 17K. Then you have to worry about the 2500-3000 tongue weight compared to a 1200 hitch weight. So instead of being able to get a 3/4 ton truck you're now into the 1 ton truck territory with the price to match.

      For destination use where people don't want steps these make sense. But for towing - no question - FW handles better

    Outstanding design! We'll done as usual Josh! Love the shoe kick off! At 6'2 it's tough anywhere as far as beds. Love the kitchen bar, half of the reason for our '19 white hawk 29rl purchase! Plenty of room. Would have been a contender for sure!

    Yup. That is perfect. Cept bedroom. Doesn't look like enough storage for clothes. And I know about that type of bed. Sucks to make it. Sucks to get on it. Couldn't image another person trying to get off at night if on other side from door.
