Why China is constructing Neutrino Detector

China is investing hundreds of millions to build an underground observatory 700 meters deep in the southeast region. A similar observatory has also been constructed in Japan, and the United States is also interested in establishing a similar observatory. Typically, observatories are constructed in open and clean environments, but these particular observatories are being built underground specifically to detect a special type of particle called neutrinos.
