I was never able to understand the appeal of Pikmin, until I actually played it. I don't think you can ever fully "get" this series until you just dive in for yourself. But now I totally get it, this game is so immersive and atmospheric while having fantastic strategic gameplay as well. I'm still relatively new to Pikmin overall and I'm a pretty casual fan as well, but man it's impossible to not love this game. Despite being really great games, none of the sequels have managed to capture quite the same vibes. (But oh boy is it frustrating sometimes lol)
My personal favorite will always be Pikmin 2, but I LOVE how easy it is to do a quick playthrough of Pikmin 1 and see how quickly I can beat it with as little deaths as possible!!! Also, coming here after the Prime Trilogy video, I can see you make quality content, absolutely subbing!!!!
I find my appreciation for this game growing exponentially over time, to the point that I may even like it more than Pikmin 4. You did a great job explaining its appeal, along with some of the less obvious stuff that makes it such a fantastic game. Also, that xenoblade bit genuinely got a chuckle out of me lmao
I will forever be grateful for New Play Control. If not for that, I would have never discovered my favorite video game series of all time. There's nothing quite like playing Pikmin with the Wii's motion controls...
I want a game where the main collectible is “building materials,” and over the course of the game you build out a home base, and depending on what you choose to collect and build, you increase your stats and abilities… and also, have the home base be up on a hill overlooking each area you can explore… and maybe the areas are actually interconnected?
I just finished your mother series. I’m working my way through your reviews. MAN what a solid writing style you have! You keep things simple, informative, and engaging. Thank you for all these. You have this KingK/SomeCallMeJohnny hybrid style and I’m here for it. Thanks for making these!
That Territorial Rotbart joke probably is only appreciated by a small portion of your audience, but I very much appreciate it! If you ever decide to make a video on Xenoblade, I’ll Be looking forward to it.
Love this series! I started with Pikmin 2. Rented it from a movie Gallery 3 weeks in a row cause i enjoyed it so much. Then one day after school. My mom surprised me with the first game.
I'd consider it if I ever came up with an idea I like for 3D Sonic content. I'd like to talk about Generations in some capacity, and the Adventure games.
@@PGReviews_ I’m a Dreamcast and Classic era Sonic fan so it be amazing if you talked about the adventure titles especially! Your Wind Waker review was inspiring to me man I loved how you talk about your own personal history with the game in question by the way, I do that for my own reviews I do through my own website, and it’s not something people do on RUclips now a days so keep that intact for your reviews! :) always here to support
This was my first game I got for a home console. It's a true masterpiece, a rare 10/10 game. It should be required playing for anyone who considers themselves a nintendo fan. Seeing the improvements to the Dolphin was so satisfying, and something that the Pikmin series has yet to recapture.
incredible video, man! i couldn’t have described this game’s brilliance myself. now i have absolutely NO EXCUSE to move this game from my top 3 favourites.
So happy the profile of this series has only grown since the release of Pikmin 3 Deluxe and has finally hit its stride with the release of Pikmin 4, hope we get more Pikmin in the future!
I always loved watching Chuggaaconroy's let's plays of Pikmin. It wasnt until the Pkmin 1+2 port came out on the Switch that i got to play it. Definitely a great game.
I rented Pikmin close to release from Blockbuster. After 20 min I knew that when I returned it at the end of the weekend I was buying it. I used my saved cash to buy it and never sold it. Very special experience.
Found chuggaa's LP of Pikmin 3 some years ago and really liked what I saw. I never picked it up, but when Pikmin 1+2 dropped, I sunk quite a few hours into it. Im kinda mixed on it, now that Ive actually played them, I feel like I prefer watching people play them more than I actually like playing it
So I do wanna say I like the video but when it came to mario 128 there's only one interview that ever stated the dev team was inspired by the demo which was the interview of Miyamoto saying the demo aspect carried to other games. However with that interview that was the only one I ever could find with Miyamoto mentioning that ever being the case. While all the other interviews out there have shown the dev team apparently didn't even know about the demo and a lot of the ideas for the game was already decided way before the demo was ever shown. Another thing as well when it comes to the Pikmin 1 and 2 on switch. It's supposed to resemble the Japanese box art for both games. Which yeah I agree it's not very good.
i had severe buyer's remorse when i played wii play control, because i had already played the gamecube version and i didn't consider the fact that i was left-handed, making the new control scheme feel alien and backwards. no gcn controller support either. i never felt so ripped off by a $60 rerelease

Which of the main 4 have you played? I love that they’re all on switch
@@moneykenny119 I've actually played them all now, I played 1-3 on my Wii U in the lead up to 4
Same! I didn’t get it until I played the Pikmin 3 demo on my Switch. Now I love it
I think most video games, unless you have prior experiences, are only properly judged by playing them.
I love all the games my favs are 2 and 3 but i get you haha
I binged all the pikmin games last year with the switch releases. What a special game series

I've played Pikmin 1 many times and I don't think I've ever seen them get crushed under the terrain. This is the first in hearing about it

I love pikmin it's so charming and fun. But when I lose a lot of pikmins I feel sad and often stop playing. But I always come back to it

Amazing review damn
Yay pikmin!
Honestly, the wii remote is helpful in pikmin, soo much that i started playing pikmin 3 with the remote.
Aaaaaaand… subscribed

I just meant that the same tech was likely used for both projects, not that Mario 128 had a direct influence on the ideas for Pikmin :)
How did you get the olimar trophy? I thought you needed pikmin to do it
I had a hand-me-down memory card with a Pikmin save file on it if I remember correctly.
