Figgs End: The Morning After Black. But not just black, more like the absence of…everything. Wind. Wait, wind? Yes, but more like a light breeze, only muffled or from a distance. A dog barks. Birds chirp. “Oh, the comfort, so soft, like I’m floating on a cloud. Cool, but warm. I don’t want to move,” JFiggsy thought, but the thought wasn’t really coherent, more like a feeling. Eyes still closed, his mind began to process and become aware of his surrounds. As the path to consciousness began he had that feeling of not knowing where he was. Of course the world was “normal”, not that anyone would think different, until it wasn’t. Trees, grass, dirt. Cows, chickens, wolves, and sheep. Rivers flowing, mountains raised, and valleys lush and green with all manner of colorful flowers that only nature can display. As his conscious drifted, JFiggsy began to remember imagining (or perhaps seeing) from time to time a dark form move in his periphery. At first he paid it no mind, but after a while he felt these forms were more frequent, though not commonplace. And then there were the mounds of grass that appeared in odd places. Then he saw it… A slender man. Tall and black, as though made of the stuff of shadows, eyes with potential malice glowing violet. Standing still. Turning on point, and then…gone. Just gone. Sometimes the slender man would appear somewhere nearby; other times he simply disappeared to seemingly never return. What were these things, these beings? Slender man, but that’s not quite right. Slenderman? Slender…no “lender”, still not right. Ender? Yes, that was it! Where did he learn this? Enderman? What were they? Where did they come from? JFiggsy tried, but couldn’t remember. Perhaps from experience or maybe innate knowledge, regardless somehow he knew if he didn’t look at them, they would leave him alone. Would he ever find their origin? Who knows? The memory faded. JFiggsy stretched, suddenly realizing he was in his bed. It was coming back to him…a dream. A nightmare? No, not really a nightmare, but some elements of the dream were definitely nightmarish. The dream was coming back to him now, but all jumbled. He had to concentrate on the events of the dream as he lay there trying to process the experience. The room grew lighter, though he did not open his eyes. Too comfortable. JFiggsy didn’t want the day to start, so he laid in his comfy bed trying to remember more of his dream. There was a place, a fortress perhaps? Underground? Yes, JFiggsy must have stumbled on it…by accident, or was he looking for the…the, the stronghold? Yes, that was it. He went out looking for a stronghold, but why? Peering inside the dark hallways he saw doors, stairs that led to other levels and rooms with iron bars. The malevolence of the place made him realize he wasn’t prepared for this adventure. Light faded as JFiggsy drifted off to sleep again, but only for a moment. Suddenly he was back awake, but still in bed. The room was brighter. He cracked his eyes and could begin to make out the walls of his bedroom, though nothing was in focus yet. What was he doing? Oh yes, the dream. He was in a tavern. The Lord of Cobblestone was there. He kept saying something about a Sword of Stone? Something about it being lost to time, but if JFiggsy was to explore the stronghold and beyond, he would need the lost sword. Wait, beyond? There was more beyond the stronghold? What could it be? He laid in bed trying desperately to remember as his mind wandered. His thoughts retuned to the Enderman. Wait, that was it! JFiggsy was beginning to remember his dream quest: to find the home of the Enderman. He could see more clearly now that his memory of the dream coalesced. Within the stronghold he wandered through hallways, then through libraries. He saw iron barred rooms but knew he didn’t want to learn what may have been kept there. More quickly the images came: iron doors, chests, stairs turning and twisting leading to other areas of the stronghold and there were also openings into endless caves. Wandering through a seemingly endless maze JFiggsy rounded a corner he saw what appeared to be a misplaced tomb. The stone crumbled away to reveal a chest, and inside the Sword of Stone! The memory of the dream came flooding back. It was all there now. In the dream he turned and saw a raised platform bordered by what appeared to be a ring of placeholders. Suddenly he felt his pockets full. Reaching inside he found green, glowing eyes. Where did they come from? Were they real eyes? Without realizing their use, he placed them into the portal’s ring. Once the last eye was placed the ring filled with stars on a sea of black. This must be the “beyond” The Lord of Cobblestone spoke of. In the dream JFiggsy froze, standing on the precipice of nothing. Should he step through or go back home? Going home would be safer; but going home would be an insult to the Lord of Cobblestone and dishonor the memory of Lord Rock whose sword he now held. He couldn’t go back. He had come so far. JFiggsy lifted a foot, heart pounding, head swimming, and…stepped through the portal. JFiggsy remembered this was the nightmarish part of his dream. His heart began to pound as the memory flooded back to his mind. The next events happened so fast that the details were lost to him. He was standing on an island in the middle of…nothing. As he looked around he saw not one Enderman, but Endermen, hundreds or perhaps thousands, all screaming and running about as if in a panic. Then he heard it. A deafening roar from the…well there was no sky, only the island surrounded black. JFiggsy knew if he left the island it would be over. Flying above was a dragon, black with powerful wings flinging Endermen in all directions as he swooped to the ground. Eyes glowing, the dragon swept upwards to the height of obsidian pillars to feed off the power of crystals. Perhaps this was JFiggy’s fate in the dream: to end the dragon and free the Endermen from their enslavement? He knew what he had to do: use the Sword of Stone, end the dragon and free the Endermen. JFiggsy charged into battle. He first began destroying the energy crystals atop the ten obsidian pillars. He must have accidently harmed an Enderman because the next thing he knew he was being chased. As the memory came to him, lying in bed, JFiggsy gasped as he remember his death. But no, not death! He was back! How was this possible? Onward he charged back into the fight. This time appearing just as the dragon attacked, flinging him high into the air. Falling, falling, panicking as the ground quickly approached, he fell and died again. And again, not dead! This couldn’t be possible? It must be the Sword of Stone and the memory of Lord Rock, the first Lord of Cobblestone keeping him alive so that JFiggsy could complete the task that the Lord Rock couldn’t.
Back into the fight and the last of the crystals were destroyed. Now onto the dragon. JFiggsy’s heart pounded in his chest as the dream unfolded. Attack after attack, running, repositioning his stance, avoiding the Endermen, then in the end the last blow was delivered and the dragon was dead, the Endermen free of their tormenter. Perched on the central pedestal was what appeared to be an egg of obsidian, black as the void with violet crystals of defeated Endermen eyes. JFiggsy approached and took the egg as proof that his quest, the quest of Lord Rock was completed, but… Now what? How was he to get home? Would he forever remain here in…what was this place called? The End? Then he saw another portal, this one smaller. JFiggsy remembered going through the smaller portal only to appear on another island also surrounded by the void...and more Endermen, many more Endermen! How would he get home? Then he saw a deformed structure towering over and island. Nearby, almost touching, was a ship floating in the air! Was this his way home? He knew he had to try. Again a battle or sorts ensued, this time he was attacked by strange faces protected by violet boxes. After a time he found himself on the ship. Inside was a strange alter. Above the alter was a pair of wings flanked by chests. He took the wings and wondered if this would allow him to fly. Perhaps this was his way home? Donning the wings he jumped off the ship and began to glide over the surrounding islands. A new experience in exhilaration as he floated along, realizing that if this weren’t a dream and having such wings in his awaking world would help him travel his lands much more efficiently. But it was only a dream, right? After some time, JFiggsy noticed the small portal again. He flew to it, and went through. He found himself back at the dragon’s island. Looking around and still wondering how he would get home, he noticed a similar starry field around the dragon’s pedestal. Realizing he had nothing to lose, he jumped through. The room was full light now. The morning had dawned. WOW, what a dream! He should write this down. It would be a great tale to tell at the local tavern. Maybe the townsfolk would get a good laugh. Sword of Stone? Traveling to another dimension? Killing a dragon? Flying? Yes, they would all have a good laugh as JFiggsy would regale them with adventure as he describe his fantastical dream! Time to get up. Time to get the day started. Chores need tending. JFiggsy threw off the covers and sat on the edge of his bed. Without thought, he glanced over and saw something strange. He couldn’t believe his eyes…an egg, a dragon egg sitting on a chest! Beside the egg and hanging on the wall was a pair of wings! “Wait,” JFiggsy exclaimed. “The dream was real?” And on the table opposite the wings lay the Sword of Stone! “It was real. All of it!” JFiggsy stood in disbelief. “It wasn’t a dream,’ he laughed, “it really happened, I defeated The End.” Then, in his mind, but as clear as if spoken aloud another voice from his dream permeated his thoughts. “The End…..? This is not the End JFiggsy, this is simply the beginning.” “Oh my word,” cried JFiggsy. “I’ve got to find the Great Wizard of Bark! Rogerda62 was his name.”
Masterpiece! Honestly mate, this is beyond amazing!!! This could seriously be a full book! Just read through twice. I will message you on discord mate! Thank you so much!!
Very cool. Much cooler than mine, and you did it without “keep inventory” on. The shots of you being chased by the enderman were nail biters. I was thinking, “DON’T STOP! HE’S RIGHT ON YOUR TAIL!!!” the whole time.
I think I just crapped my trousers! You know that feeling when you’re reading a good book and you just can’t put it down? Yes JFigs, this is what you’ve created. @@Jfiggsy So I finished the next "chapter". I'll let it sit, then proof it when I get home from the office. I'll post here as a new post later, probably around midnight or 1 am your time. If you miss it today, then enjoy it tomorrow morning. I think you're going to like it...cheers mate!
In house COBBLESTON the real strength comes from the wielder of the weapon. Although the blade may not be the steel and honed to a fine edge, it is heavy and in the right hands can crack the skull of any foe. Love the cutscene, gives off cool old school RPG vibes I hope lord cobb got his ale!
I am LOVING the lore in this! The cinematography and everything is brilliant! Great job on getting through the dragon fight and getting some wings! Definitely need to set up a creeper farm and a sugarcane farm so you have a supply of rockets. Also wouldn't hurt to go back to the End and get some more shulkers. I can't live without them LOL
Great touch including Rogerda62’s piece of lore in at the end. Amazing immersion and interaction, truly makes it feel like we are all characters in your story. Looking forward to seeing the lore of my house of Cobbleston. Perhaps you can add villagers into each city/town and using name tags, assign the names of each houses members to the villagers. Not sure about the logistics of acquiring such a large number of name tags and if the mechanics of villagers would mess with anything (ie raids happening).
Thank you mate! Hopefully everyone will make an appearance here and there! Definitely agree re villager with name tags etc. something I will be working on for sure :). Cheers for the support mate!
Congratulations! Well done. Very focused and straight forward to the goal :-) The episode was amazing! Very good atmosphere for this special moment in every Minecraft playthrough. The lore cutscenes at the beginning and the end were soooo cool! I liked it a lot. The world you are building is getting more and more alive! And taking ideas from your viewers and bring them into the videos is so nice and special! Awesome :-)
Fantastic as always, the lore was a lot of fun. A bit of advice, try not to spam click when attacking mobs, it'll do more damage that way if you let the little sword icon under the crosshair reload first.
Came here to say the same thing. It's common for Bedrock players to spam click after moving to java since that's how combat works in Bedrock. In java you need to wait for a cool down before you can attack at full power again. That's probably why things are feeling harder for you.
Lovely vid, the fact that you spawned next to an end city is crazy, I used to travel MILESSS to get there. You should definetely build a some kind of monument with the egg and the dragon head, in a city or at a pathway.
Great video, I’m loving the lore, it adds so much to the world! 2 things to make it different from the rest.... It's kind of refreshing to see an episode not focused on building. I mean, I like to see buildings, but I think that I just missed that forgotten by time kind of videos with some gameplay.
oh wow that cut scene in the beginning with lord cobb and the lore about the sword was fantastic, but the most important question: did lord cobb get his ale ?!? I think after this episode we can safely say that figgsy’s achilles heel are endermen (and maybe powedered snow) 😅 Gotta say though the tension I was feeling when you bridged over the void and then threw that first enderpearl … that gave me a mini heart attack not gonna lie. And what a great ending! It’s so exciting seeing your viewers being added into the story! What a cool role rogerda’s got, can’t wait to see where he’s taking figgsy in the next episode 😍
Haha you are right!! Powdered snow and enderman! I couldn’t believe it when the first pearl missed😂. There’s a story for Phiepy from the house of Greenly in the future for sure :).
Thank you Snoopers :)! I honestly feel that the mobs are more difficult to fight in Java. It could well be just me still getting used to it though! The dragon itself felt very different.. especially the angle from where you can hit the dragon!

oh wow that cut scene in the beginning with lord cobb and the lore about the sword was fantastic, but the most important question: did lord cobb get his ale ?!?
I think after this episode we can safely say that figgsy’s achilles heel are endermen (and maybe powedered snow) 😅
Gotta say though the tension I was feeling when you bridged over the void and then threw that first enderpearl … that gave me a mini heart attack not gonna lie.
@@Jfiggsy that makes me even more excited for the upcoming episodes 😬
Well done! It was a nail-biter for sure. I'm curious what is different from Bedrock vs. Java though.
Thank you Snoopers :)!
I honestly feel that the mobs are more difficult to fight in Java. It could well be just me still getting used to it though! The dragon itself felt very different.. especially the angle from where you can hit the dragon!
wow what shaders are these
Thank you for watching mate! A mixture of complimentary and bliss. Plus patrix resource pack for the cut scenes :)
@@Jfiggsy cool thanks!
Shulker farms are easy on Java
I’ll have to give it a go!
Do you make a living out of this channel, or do you have another job aswell?
Hey, this is just for fun. I work full time (unfortunately!) haha. Thank you for watching :).
